We only had the privilege of having Mal at Saints for one year, I have seen a lot of great rugby players in my 60 years, Tom Van Vollenhoven, Dick Huddart, Alex Murphy to mention a few but Mal was definitely the best TL player I have ever seen, phenomenal. Not many times a Brit will say that about an Aussie!
I played League for 12 years I actually met Mal in 1982 I think it was... At the time I was 184cm tall and weighed a REALLY fit 108kgs Mal made me look like a bloody midget...or that is what I felt like I have often thought about what it would have been like waking up on a Sunday morning as a Centre 3/4 and knowing you were marking Mal that afternoon.....LMAO.... My arse would have probably been glued to the toilet seat in the dressing room!
Legs like tree trunk, unstoppable & on a par with Lomu as the greatest rugby player ever. Saw him when Aus toured UK.
you are right - it is between jonah and mal
The GOAT a leader of legends as a player and coach. He is modern rugby league.

One of my favourite players growing , then he decided to say “I got nothing out of rugby league” I was gutted.
that is one of the pernicious results of institutional racism
No such thing as fair use.
