I noticed there wasn’t as many claiming to be disabled , when mobility cars , where blue , fibreglass bodied single seat three wheeler Invacars . Once they started giving out , brand new major brand standard 4 wheel cars on 3 year lease , all of a sudden those who claim to be disabled suddenly rocketed . I reckon at least 50/% are pulling a fast one & blagging it to get a brand new free car every 3 years .
@@Shay3356 It is a free lease car , the higher rate of mobility pays for the lease. The claimant is getting a brand new car to ride around in every three years . Some vehicles may require an extra deposit , usually only a couple of hundred quid, depending on claimants choice of vehicle & any manufacturers extras fitted above a standard basic model .
It's a really good point, though looking for a client - know at least a few who have (think they also have Blue Badge despite that also being apparently very tough for non-physical disability to qualify for), but *how* they managed to do it under the T&Cs of motability, is completely unfathomable (as it would require high rate mobility PIP which for certain they wouldn't qualify for) - these are mostly young claimants too. Unless there's a similar scheme for non-physical or seemingly 'minor' disabilities somewhere that isn't widely publicised? Anyone know?
So unfair how people on pip just get brand new cars for next to nothing. Seen a guy bragging about getting a 45k car with everything paid for just by having mental disability. Why not give them cars that are older which provide the same tech whys it always a brand new year
I know your Negative comments are to provoke a reaction: Until you have walked in a disabled persons shoes and can't make free choices in day to day life you will never understand.... Remember Disablity can effects anyone: Like it effected me. Please remember not all disabilities are visible.
You have to pay almost £4,000 in advance and your full pip mobility per week till you have the car. The price of the car is only relevant when it comes to paying the advance.

The answer is a big fat no!!
Why is it only set up for higher rate mobility at least the others should be considered.

Mobility scheme is scam, do get it. You will lose everything if pip changes!!!!

I think if you have a mental disability you're a liability to yourself and others, the last thing we should be doing is rewarded them with a free car.
