    He didn't look impressed by the food. The seafood tempura lost its crispiness, looked soggy.

    I can sense the staff has gone through proper training ; polite , enthusiastic and well mannered, the way the staff placed the cutlery on the table seemed so respectful towards his customers. To me and my partner, we not only go for good food but the basic service as well, sometimes the staff who are rude can ruin the whole experience. Watching your clip, i am certainly paying a visit tomorrow. Thanks for sharing!

    One thing about being new chain, standard always good when started. To bring in crowd then drop along the way. Hope Tenya is not going to be like that

    Typical Singaporean hype. This is like yoshinoya equivalent in Japan, saw the queue and went matcha house instead. I can eat it all I want when I'm back in Japan without the ridiculous queue.

    Tried this yesterday! The food is really yummy, highly recommended. Although the chicken karage is not worth $4.90++ and only 4 pcs of small chicken. The soft serve is a refreshing treat to end the meal

  • @eddiewblim
    @eddiewblim 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Quite possibly the best tendon chain worldwide. They used prawns that have not been treated with sodium metabisulfite
    Which makes prawns slightly translucent and crunchy, albeit tasteless. I wish the can serve the onsen tamago which goes
    Really well with the bowl. Also the sauce tastes weaker than that in Japan. I may be wrong. Lastly I hope their prices
    Stay affordable.

    I might give this a try the next time I am in that area. But IMO this brand is positioned as a fast food chain in Japan, similar to Yoshinoya and 松屋. I have never heard any Japanese friend rave about food at such chains. At least not to the extent like in this video.

    • @SmileyStarz
      @SmileyStarz 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He said towards the end of the video Tenya is the best affordable tempura you can get in japan, not the best tempura you’ll ever have, but at a great price point. I’m pretty sure he’s also contextualising it to SG, in SG at least it’s one of the few chains with more affordable and good quality food.

    • @franceslam2570
      @franceslam2570 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@terrytay1774 Infact tendon or tempura is one of my favourites. I have tried many so called renowned tempura eateries and found that they really did not live up to their hype. Some were so heavily battered that they became disintegrated. The one that came close to my heart is perhaps Tensho at Platform M, Singpost. Their quality is always consistently good and not over-battered, and the tempura is fried in a beautiful non-greasy attractive yellow hue. At least it did not leave me with a unpleasant and unsatisfying aftermath greasy feeling. Perhaps I am too subjective...sorry!
