Almaty is So Green!! ~Botanical Garden & Mountain Views 🇰🇿

After completely failing to see a botanical garden in aktau (it was derelict and closed down!), I made it my mission to visit almaty’s garden. It was amazing, so lush and green and surrounded by mountains, and so many different types of trees to see as well. After that I did a bit more sightseeing before heading up kok tobe hill in a cable car for some (sort of) views of the city.

Thanks for taking us along. Lovely park... those squirrels are so damn cute and you can tell the little buggers are used to getting handouts in return for their cuteness. We have red squirrels in Canada but they don't have those bushy ears and endearing faces.

It looks so beautiful in Almaty! i loved all the different animal statues :) The cable car ride looked so peaceful and beautiful shame about the visibility though xx

Lovely willows as you say. I discovered exactly how lovely when i planted one right next to the pond I had spent 2 years digging and then puddled the clay bottom. All water drained happily into it...and into the willow. After 2 years i had a lovely willow and no pond. Thirsty chaps.

Everywhere is so clean, quiet and beautiful. The Botanical Garden was really lovely and I like to see seats for people to quietly relax and take in the surroundings. What a shame about the fog up top, but it was an experience you will remember and stunning views on the way up. Another lovely documentary, and I am looking forward to the next one Nimi 🥰

It's funny what a difference a bit of greenery makes to a space... it seems so much more vibrant and alive and welcoming. Was it a layer of smog obscuring the view or cloud cover? Bit of a shame.

Unfortunately yes, I think as Almaty is the busiest city, it’s quite polluted 😢
