Rimworld is basically Dwarf Fortress, but playable. Seriously, I've tried to get into Dwarf Fortress about six or seven different times. Even folks that are experts in the game have to pause and look crap up all the time because the interface is so horrible.

Amplitude is higher but frequency is lower. Don't listen to me though I'm a Dwarven idiot.

Yep, took me about 60-80 hours to finally “get it” with dwarf fortress.
