I recall when I was commissioned in 1966, a grisly old US Army 1st Sergeant and former Korean War POW, lined a dozen of us newly minted 2nd LTs ups for our first ($10) salute. He deserved it.
My nephews commissioning ceremony took place, at Ohio States Athletic hall of fame at the stadium my sister was not quite to sure about what it all meant, after the ceremony there was a reception at the armory, while walking from the stadium to the armory, they passed the local Marine recruiting office, where two Sergeants, happened to be locking up for the day, seeing my nephew in his dress whites, the two snapped to attention, and saluted, it was at that moment, that my sister, realized that " holy c**p my son is an officer"!

Glad the video brought back some memories for you, Angus.
Good work
I was hoping that it was going to be father to son.
He must have got about 20 coins 😂
MSgt seems to have forgotten how a Marine salutes correctly; straight up, straight down.
He went up and down
Good to be US Marine Corp
