Former Governor Barners was interviewed for a documentary series on the 2008 financial mess. He had then, and still does have, a wonderful personality, charming humor, and doubtless the respect of the legal community and colleagues in his professional life.

I could give several reasons. Some political in nature. Others legal. But I think when it comes right down to it, the more evidence allowed and the more testimony given the least likely Fani Willis will have a argument for appeal. And he may even be given the Bar Association ammo for a decision to disbar her.
And I'll be honest. I do think that is where this is going. Both her and Wade will probably lose their law license. And as for Wade, I suspect whatever office he is attached to is just waiting for the dust to settle to dismiss him from the firm. Both of these two are probably done practicing law in Georgia.

A crackerjack attorney. It's a colloquialism that means marked by excellence. It has nothing to do with the candy that comes in a box. 😂😂

I look at it a bit differently. I look at an older white man who is sitting in a room full of political activist diversity hires discussing him being a part of a case that by any legal definition would be a stretch to prove and him thinking I got to get out of this clown show.
And I probably should further point out that this is in late 2021. Covid mandates have lessoned across the US. But with that said, people weren't meeting face to face. So why did they meet in person and not use teleconference? I think the answer is simple. Nobody in that room wanted the meeting recorded.
So while you are thinking Roy Barnes is acting noble and stoic, question why he even met with them at all. Based on his testimony he could have told them no over the phone.
No, I suspect he was initially on board, saw the layout of the case, realized it was a sham at best, and bailed before the seat got warm.
