It's a quote from a review from one of the Nintendo related magazines, and it was supposed to be added on the original box art. But because of the cancellation of the N64 version, they couldn't add the quote. I'm pretty sure that they added it on the modern N64 boxes just to make it look like it already came out in the 90's, or that they didn't have a better picture without the quote, so they took the same front cover as the PS1 version (that fsr has the quote from that specific magazine, on a PS1 game)
It's funny how they censored so much on many games yet we got Conker's Bad Fur Day...

Radicola Conker's Bad Fur Day Live & Reloaded for XBOX 360 had an interesting part with the boss fight the Great Mighty Poo when he's singing his song the part he says he'll throw his poop at you is censored with a fart sound

People used to use pocket watches as tiny flasks so it's a little bit of both.
In Japan every Train Driver has his own Pocket Watch which he/she pairs to the second with a Main Clock in the Office. Still, today there is an exclusive Watch Maker in Tokyo Station for repairs especially for the JR Train Drivers.

@@Hellothere-lk7xi But it's neither random nor unrelated. They're both things that may be confused by people not more involved with something.
To some random person a shogi game might look like a mahjong game. Some may think all anime is essentially porn. Some may think anime is just "asian" and thus think of chinese, given it's the largest asian nation.

Also the Start and Select buttons have the shape from those buttons on the PlayStation controllers, and there was no Select button on regular N64 controllers. Weird.
Kind of ironic how Sony is the ones currently who are taking censorship a bit seriously, whereas Nintendo is more lenient.

Not really if you look at the stores on each console. There are a lot of creepy anime games on psn. And a ridiculous amount of dlc they would have to approve. Everything reaches a breaking point at a certain volume.

Actually this N64 censorship was self-imposed for the most part as many devs believed that Nintendo still held their policies from the early 90s. Nintendo still had their policy for their own devs (aside from Conker) but, they toned down significantly after the ESRB formed. Also, there's BMXXX on GameCube as one of the big known instances where Sony censored and Nintendo didn't
@@PIKMINROCK1 I don't think that policy applied to Rare; Only Goldeneye was censored because the characters had their likenesses based on the movie's actors.

It was in hotels only and it was amazing after being on the road for 8 hours and needing something entertaining before cell phones had internet. Lodgenet was On Demand before there was On Demand. You could use the controller to order movies too. You could play one grand prix of Mario Kart and watch Galaxy Quest before getting up real early and hitting the road again.

SBK and Michief Makers both made me smile.
Remembering way back when I was a kid, I thought my controller was busted whenever I played MM, because you play with the D-Pad, but every other game used the analog stick at the time. I got through the first 3 stages using nothing but dashes and boosts before I realized I was playing it all wrong.
Bomberman music in the beginning is what got me
oh my god, cruisin' USA... I've played the arcade version of that game SO much, because a rich friend of my dad bought it on a whim cause his son was into racing games at the time. so, whenever my dad went over to his place, I came along just to play. thats easily one of the most fun arcade cabinets in existence.

Gamecube would have been the best if they would have used normal discs like PS2. Otherwise, the system is flawless. The wavebird is godlike.

holy shit, I remember the LodgeNet controller. I only remember ever seeing it a handful of times, had no idea who made it at the time or even what hotels had them; all I remember was thinking "woah, this hotel room has an N64 in it!!!!" and, as a kid, that was by far the coolest thing ever.

They can totally post game footage of No Mercy without getting hit with a copyright strike, theyre usually strict when it comes to actual footage from RAW or SD but the video games nah

Nice to Finally Know the origins of the N64 Game service and controllers at Hotels. The Video mentions First Party Games were available, but a ton of 3rd Party games were also available. Off the top of my head I remember seeing the San Francisco Rush games and Mortal Kombat 4 Available.
I appreciate this video so much more simply because it has Snowboard Kids 2 music in the background for about the last half of the video. That is one of my favorite games of all time!

Oh my gosh at 8:46, my mom and I stayed in a hotel that had a 64! I remember playing SO MUCH of Donkey Kong racking up a really impressive hotel bill. To Mom's credit she never got upset and was happy I had a great time. Those are some of the best memories.

I remember using a Lodgenet N64 at a Holiday Inn before my cousin’s wedding in 2006. Also remember using a Lodgenet SNES at a hotel in 2000 I think. It was my first introduction to the SNES!

The lodge net controller and service is some heavy nostalgia being a kid who went on lots of family vacations by car when I was very young.

That lodgenet thing makes so much more sense now. In Canada there are lodgenet setups with custom gamecube controllers in lots of hotels still. No actual gamecube though.

That dual controller mode in Star Wars Ep1 racer was itself a hidden cheat code - not a default option . And you had to plug into ports 1+3 for player 1. RR DUAL was the code, from first unlocking a debug menu , so it was a few steps of effort, but a ton of expert fun

8:55 HOLY SHIT! I Stayed in one of these hotels and used the weird modified N64 controller! I remember it feeling just.. weird and cheap. It had all those same strange buttons, and it actually had it's own operating system to select which game you wanted to play, like emulators of today. There wasn't even an N64 unit out in the open, it must have been hidden behind the tv with all the other wiring. I forgot all about that, and gameshark online. Great video.
