I've got the C4 Coupe 1.4 L and it's a great economical car and it has the best looking rear of all cars ;-) well mine has one with a spoiler and looks great
Say, do you have more intel about the Engine range? i for one was interested in a 1.6 Turbo 150 HP one, since it seems to have an engine VERY similar to my berlingo, engine has lasted me over 170k Miles thus far.
The BMW engines are notoriously unreliable in the Mini, and will require hefty and timely preventive maintenance. I doubt the PSA versions are better. Hands off those units!
Nothing wrong with the PSA versions!! They are one of the most reliable engines out there. The fuel consumption on petrol ones were poor, that's their only fault.
Most grave problem with this car was the rear suspension which made a terrible noise at moderate speed over bumps. At the same time the rear end of the car would lose contact with the road causing instability problems. Citroen had taken some action 2005 model years but had given up leaving the owners alone with the problem. There were other typical problems as well but they did not bother that much, compared to the problem with rear suspension. I had bought one in 2008 brand new but dumped the car after a year with 20tkm getting sick of this problem.
I didn’t know that these got the Prince engine, where I live we only got the 1.6 and 2.0 16v, both petrols. Fairly reliable, the only problem was the automatic AL4 transmission. Absolutely rubbish. The suspension was more fragile than its rivals but very comfortable. It might not drive as a Focus II or a Golf V but it’s certainly better than the Astra H.
I want to pick up a used c4 vt(r?s?) coupe and actually im thinking of the thp turbo engine because i like to have some speed. Im mostly interesting on the pre-facelift model because i like much more the wheels even if the facelift model looks more fresher with better 'face mask' those pre facalift model wheels on vt models are brilliant.do you have any suggestions?? Im gonna pick it up probably with like 100,000 miles or something. Please help me because some people on the internet are like oh thp crappy problematic engine but i have no clue and i don't trust them because they saying about alfa romeos how are un reliable too but my father got only alfas and all are reliable cars with 250,000+ miles and good reliability...so...

My 1.6 16v prefacelift is probably the best overall engine for everyday use. 40mpg on motorway. Pretty reliable. Nippy enough for city drive.
I agree, that’s the best petrol PSA engine ever.
I’ve owned my 2008 since new and love it.
Me too ;)
Have you 2 encountered any clicks when changing the lower gears?
@@josheggerton7918my 2010 is a bit crunchy when I go into first gear but all the other gears are alright
Starting to really get into this channell. Great no nonsense reviews
Really appreciate that! So glad you’re enjoying them
Replacing the TU petrol engines with the Prince units did not really help reliability. The diesels would be the only facelift C4 i would go near.

@@chaospxl_ best gasoline engine on this car is the 1.6 16v 110hp, NFU code
The last TU engines (like those in the C4) are very reliable and very cheap to service. And they make the C4 a very comfy car.

LOL, my PSA engine has done 124274,23 miles without any faults. Great engine.👍
@@fonziebulldog5786 which engine do u have?
The same problems are present in those PSA models, it took a long time for them to fix. Though, once sorted, the problem won’t come back.
I own one and touch wood have little problems with it for a A to B car it does fine ,

11.2 seconds on 110 HP? i got 9.98 seconds on a 1.6 l 16v NA 109 HP on a Coupe from 2008 with no mods at all

About the timing chain, what’s it’s life
Mine is a 2.0 liter petrol with a timing belt which should be replaced every 80.000 kilometers
Great car. 😄👍
Love ❤️👍🇦🇺
