Thanks, I just changed my rotors and pads after watching your video. I believe once you pull the parking back back by turning clockwise, when you put it back you can leave it fully retracted and the parking brake will readjust the first time you apply it.
Great video. I used it to do my back brakes. Only thing I would add is if anybody wants to paint their calipers and caliper bracket they should do so while doing the brakes. Maybe add the torque values for the caliper bolts and bracket.
Per Acura it’s 80 lb-ft for the caliper bracket bolts and 53 ft-lbs for the caliper slide bolts.
Thanks for making this video for all of us who have never done it before.
Great tip! Thank you!
Awesome, about to start on a 2015 TLX, rotors and brakes
Great Video, Just what I needed. worked like a charm. Thank you for making this video!! 💪
Nice! I glad I was able to help!
Thank you ,I just did my Acura based on your video
Nice work! Im glad you found this video useful!
My lights all went on after replacing my brakes any advice you can give on that? 2016 Acura tlx
Excellent video. Now I can do my break job.
Glad I could help!
Bro you need to break down a whole Acura tax like this! I plan on keeping my car for the long run! lol. solid Vid!
Excellent Video that displays every step in process...best I've seen so far
Wow, thanks! Im glad you found it helpful!
Nice video. Like how you used screwdriver to retract piston. Thought l would need special brake tool to spin the piston back.
Good detailed video, what kind grease did you use for the rubber seal for the electronic parking brake?
Thank you! i just used high temp assembly grease
Your video and instruction is very detailed. Thank you
You are welcome! I'm glad I was able to help out!
Bro great effinnn video right on bro very well explained
Great Video. Didnt know you can compress the piston like that.
You can do it automatically with a bidirectional scan tool but I know some diy do not have access to it so this is an alternative way!
Friend es necesario desconectar los frenos antes.??
el motor de freno electrico? No es neccesario desconectar
Thanks, bro. Your video is super awesome .
Do you know the torque specs for the hub rotor and caliper bracket bolts?
quick question… i thought we needed a scan tool to put the rear brakes on service mode
That’s the proper way if you have a scanner
Hello, Why change the rear brake and rotors?? Is it AWD?? Vibrating/shaking when braking ?
Why did you not bleed the brakes? Genuine question. There is a bleeder valve so im assuming you should bleed them prior to reinstalling the electronic parking brake. No?
No, the parking brake is fully "electronic" the hydraulic system does not get touched or is involved is changing the brakes. The only time you would bleeding the brakes is when replacing the calipers, but in this video, we removed the "electronic" part of the caliper. The Hydraulic line was untouched.
Awsome video best one on the net
I think u have to also put on service mode changing the rear breaks
If you are going to do the rear brake service by using a scan tool, then you would put the brakes in "maintenance mode" and the scan tool would retract the caliper piston via the actuator. This is the manual way of doing them and it works.
@@RodriguezRepairs awesome thx I appreciate you
Thanks my amigo you are the best of the best jaja
Well done!
Thank you! I am glad this video helped alot!

Hi Rodriguez. I am living in OC. CA. Where is your shop located?
My 2019 Acura TLX need to have brake service.
Hey, I am located in Atlanta Georgia
Thanks!
No problem! Thank you!
Is this procedure the same for a 2017 Acura RLX?
yes, the procedure should the same if the vehicle is equppied with E-parking brake
Great instruction.....
Glad it was helpful!
What torque did you use for the different bolts when retightening?
what is the tool called to punch the screw in the rotor
Its called an "Impact driver"
Hand impact driver. Worked like a charm.
Last thing is to reconnect the parking brake cable!
Yes, ofcourse.
Great Job man!
no problem man!
Last thing Emergency Brake off or On when doing the brakes ????
E-brake off when doing the rear brakes. Does not matter if doing front brakes.
Thanks brotha
As an ase certified tech I’m telling all people please don’t do this. There’s a epb function in any good scanner for this reason. Never disconnect and never manually refund the piston on caliper unless cars in service mode for breaks.
yes i saw that and im not certified but that just looked wrong i have a brake pad tool that retracts the piston but i never retracted it before taking the brake pad out for when i owned my honda
and what do you think that scan tool is doing when you put it in maintenance mode? It commands the servomotor to retract the plunger in the caliper so that the piston is able to be pushed inward. Yes, putting the vehicle in "maintenance mode" is the oem way but most people do not own bidirectional scan tools, plus most of the time, you have to leave the scanner connected and ignition switch on until the full brake service is completed, which you would have to put a Battery charger on the vehicle so the battery does not drain. I have done many of these systems and never had a problem as long as the steps are followed correctly. 👍🏼
Being ASE certified doesn't necessarily mean hands on, a lot of people are great at taking tests and a lot of people are great hands on, do you!
Man, when I saw that the rear brakes are disc and not drum I felt a huge flutter of relief 😂
Thanks!
Thank you!!
