Yeah, I think it’s worth it. That’s what I’d do and that’s what I’ve seen quite a few people say, pick up a PS5, then a Series S for playing Microsoft exclusives.
I use the Samsung S24R350, I've a video about it on my channel. The max my monitor allows is 75Hz, but it's got FreeSync so it dynamically changes the refresh rate to match the frame rate of the game. The Xbox will automatically detect Variable Refresh Rate compatible displays.
I still game on my One S.. I have a half a gig model too but then I also have a TB of external hdd connected to install and play games.. that's one feature that's missing on the new Series S! Happy Gaming, mate.. Welcome to Xbox! #SuperbSeriesS
No I don’t plan on picking one up, but yeah older titles can be played off and stored on an external HDD and newer X|S titles can be cold stored on them. So that’s enough for me.
Wouldn't leave it directly under monitor as it puts out some seiuos heat , have 8 inches clear on mine and the shelf above is still very toasty !!.... although handy for keeping food/drinks hot :).
What's the average longevity of this console? It's such a remarkable option alongside the gamepass that it's hard to not give it a preference over a potentially overpriced PC gaming hardware market.
Agreed, it’s a great deal, especially since I don’t plan on buying/building a Windows PC. This is perfect for me. And I guess it should last just as long as any console generation, should be supported till the next one.

Atleast for people like myself with less than limited resources and an expensive hobby like gaming to maintain. A series s alongside a 1080p/1440p monitor and gamepass will be the best decision to feed that, going forward. On another note, loving your narration about the console. Hope you'll post more of your superb series s gameplays etc 🙏.
Ah gotcha, I think the hardware should last. My old Wii from 2006 still works, and my Switch is still fine after 3 years. If that’s anything to go by that is 😅

Good question. It's also depend on your TV. If it is 4k and if you play near the panel, bear in mind that the resolution of ss could be a problem. A lot of ps5 owners has got ss because is cheap and because it is their second choice. If you choose ss, in the future, you can always switch to the better sx when you will have the opportunity. Anyways, if you can't afford sx right now, bring ss but this gen, own an Xbox is highly raccomended

I got my Series S a week ago and regret it. I feel like I got an Xbox One S. The visuals are disappointing I play it on a 1440p monitor and the visuals aren’t even close to my PC. I have a PS5 I didn’t expect the S to compete but I did expect more. I guess I should have waited for an X. The S just doesn’t feel like a good enough upgrade from Xbox One. I also fell for the hype over Game Pass. I got Ultimate and I found the library of games disappointing. Maybe it’s because I own the good games already from my Xbox One.
Me too, total waste of money as the one thing that I care about with the next gen consoles was 120fps which is what the s is advertised as. I don’t care about 4K and the top end resolution so this was perfect for me. But only after I buy it I find out that the s can’t do 120fps for games that the ps5 and Xbox x can, ridiculous!! It literally says 120fps on the box! No review. I’ve read and watched many fails to mention this. I posted this last night, a warning to anyone that might be getting this thinking it does 120fps and my post got deleted! Wtf

I love the Series S but after three weeks, I give it back because I have my good old One X that play the Games actually good enough. It’s a problem for me that the Series S have no Diskdrive. I can’t play all my physical Xbox Games (a lot) on the Series S. And that’s a break for me. I know it bevor I buy it and I think it’s ok for me, but it isn’t. The Series S is a awesome machine for everyone. But if you at the collecting point, it’s the wrong console. I wait to find a Series X.
It's called all digital for a reason that's the whole point of all digital consoles. If you wanna pay over.$1,000 for a series X go for it but for me I don't see the point of paying that much money for a $500 system. Js

Xbox Series S comes with an HDMI 2.0 cable NOT 2.1 as it doesn’t utilize it. High speed and Ultra high speed are very different. Xbox Series S doesn’t have HDMI 2.1 ports. The port is HDMI 2.0.
