I've been a fan of The Hu for a while now, so when I heard this very song on the radio while flipping through random stations, my jaw dropped! Never once did I ever think a song from the best Mongolian band ever would be on the radio!

I remember a time where the metal scene was one that embraced the outcasts and a scene where it did not matter what you listened to, you were welcome. We did not argue about 'selling out' or if a band was les 'legit'. We liked metal. And in that we found our brothers and sisters. We celebrated the differences, we shared our love for music without dissing what someone else listened to. Because we knew what it was like being judged badly because of the music we enjoyed. Now I read comments here, calling this crap, saying that they are selling out etc. No one is forcing you to listen to things you do not like, you can just click away. Just because you do not like something, it does not mean its bad. It just is not your taste. And if these 2 bands wanted to do a colab and see what sound that would produce, why not? No band ever grew by standing still. Be more accepting of eachother and eachothers tastes. Be more open about new sounds and new experiences. And if you still dont like it, click away. No need for snarky comments, right? You have better things to do than spread anger and hate.
"please sir...may I have some more?" Great song! Thanks Octane for introducing this band to mainstream North American audiences! Now more collaborations please!!!
Its actually pretty crazy hearing this on the radio (Eastern North Carolina, USA) I had actually heard it before back when it first found its way on youtube, to hear it blast through my car was surreal and an epic moment for music.
It's a warchant, you're supposed to feel it in your soul. You're also supposed to fight alongside Ghengis Khan while chanting loudly, striking fear into any who oppose.
I heard this on a radio station from Parkersburg, West Virginia while driving home tonight. I'm into Mongolian music, and already knew of the Hu, but I was totally shocked to hear them on the radio. I think it's pretty cool. I also think the collaborations they've been doing with American singers is a brilliant move. It's what's getting them air time in West freaking Virginia. As for what it means, the English lyrics tell the story pretty well. If you watch the original video, the subtitles will come out in English also. It's urging Mongolians to get up and do great things.
How are there any dislikes for this video? This is literally perfect. Everyone I've played it for is amazed at the fusion and absolutely innovative sound of it. So good.

Both the original and this version are great in their own way. But nothing will ever replace the chills hearing Yuve Yuve Yu gave me the first time all the way down my spine. It’s so unique and cultural. Didn’t get the same with this collaboration, but I think it gives the same message - have honor. be true to where you came from. respect the ones you have never followed footsteps in. I like the video shots, but I think FA2N is kinda weird fazed in and out. I like watching the instruments. Here’s to seeing more and more of The Hu in America.
This is art. Also how I see it, two completely different cultures coming together to make an immaculate piece of art. This power...this sound...this feeling. This is exactly what metal is about. It doesn't matter what language or land. All the matters is that it kicks ass. The metal community is a hard core group, but we are open minded and love it when a song just plain kicks ass. This absolutely does. So does Wolf Totem. When I get my next paycheck I buying some new music. And just to cap this off, my 10 year old guitar playing son is fascinated by the Mohrin Khurr and wants one for Christmas. If I can find one, he's getting it too. To break down all barriers and unite people as human, only music has that power. Thank you for sharing your art with the rest of us.

This power...this sound...this feeling. This is exactly what metal is about. It doesn't matter what language or land. All the matters is that it kicks ass. The metal community is a hard core group, but we are open minded and love it when a song just plain kicks ass. This absolutely does. So does Wolf Totem. If I can find one, he's getting it too. To break down all barriers and unite people as human, only music has that power. Thank you for sharing your art with the rest of us.
