"Shoog shoog" is shamanic calling for the ancestral spirits. Tengerism or Shamanism was the main "religion" of the Mongols, the rituals still practiced widely. Overall in this song, they are asking and praying our ancestors to help make everything good for Mongolia and its people.
Sincerely, thank you for the history lessons. I had absolutely no real idea what direction that song was taking the lyrics.
Thanks
I'd be totally up for heavy metal loving ancestor spirits! Thank you for the explanation.
not just in mongolia, there are still tribes in eastern russia practising shamanism/tengerism, like on the kamchatka penninsula
Thank you very much for providing context.
I just yelled in excitement in a crowded restaurant. Finally, a 3rd song
Lol i yelled out too lol
I did the same at the mall...lol
Sun n oh that would be an interesting video lol
Sun n if only i had that talent to capture some of the stuff I see.
@TRUMPY THE CLOWN Being such idiot is at least interesting way to be.
Mongolian throat singing and metal combined will of course be legendary. The HU is awesome
There is more talent in this song alone than the past decade of all pop music radio songs combined.
How in the absolute hell does this work so well?! All 3 songs have been so damn addicting it's scary!
I dont know
It's the overall rhythm of the song. Similar to Queen's We Will Rock You. It's a simple yet emotionally pervading rhythm that ignites basic desires. It can be either even or odd in count depending on what you count for the rhythm. (Not a music expert. Best I could do. Try to avoid taking over small cities on your way to work. )
its theyr paission for music and the culture
Genuine
Their music touches everybody on a spiritual level !
My mother is Kalmyk. The Kalmyks were one of the four heirs or original tribes of Chingghis Khan known as the Oirats. Mongols are scattered across the world but even so, had a profound impact on world history. The Kalmyks themselves never gave up their horsemanship and were Cossacks known as the "Hells Devils" by Napoleon. They led to his defeat and pushed him all the way back to Paris. A famous lithograph of Kalmyk or Mongols in Paris demonstrated they were some of the greatest warriors in history.
Yes Kalmyks were Napoleon's pain in the ass.
True. Kalmyk and Mongol are direct descendants. Well, there were no Mongol, we were all small khaganate, CHINGGIS unite them and names us Mongol.
That's amazing! My grandfather got the chance to work with Cossacks during the Cold War era, and learned a lot from them. Him and his best friend at the time (a Cossack himself) published a book about the experience, though I haven't been able to find it. Apparently, one of the reasons they got along so well was because granddad was the one of the few that took their advice on horsemanship and put it to use.
The Mongols are great warriors. Their empire that they created, proves this.
Nice- as a History buff, Like to get Info Like this
I’m Mexican, and I enjoy this music a lot 👍🏻
Where has this band been my whole life! And why havent I found them sooner.. I am obsessed
Music is language. A language that transcends words. You do not have to understand it to feel it. You just feel it. You just feel The Hu. Even if you do not understand. That is the power of real music. It unites us all.
That's what I say about listening to Rammstein and In Extremo. Don't understand the lyrics but I have a hard time hearing lyrics in any song. The voice is just another instrument to me.
@@CaptainYodelstein that is so true! Thanks Captain!
Well said.
Verdade a música rompe as barreiras do idioma, não precisa entender a letra da música pra gostar dela.
Music is the language of us all.
Mongols are conquering the world again this time with their music!
Lol
Now we only have to the fear the mongol chords...😉
@@averexventurusestdominus5310 instead of their penises yes
Wise conclusion 👍
Now "IN" time with their music.
The language is so dynamic, but it's the music that makes it alive.
This, shireg shireg, and The Same are my faves on the album
My Pakistani, truck-driving friend turned me on to this group. He said it was "good trucking music". He was not wrong. This is badass.
We are not barbarians but kings and prince of peace and order may we and all our brothers and their families have long life.
I know. It is awesome to powerwalk/run to as well!
Safe drive, bro!!
Good fighting and motivation music. Imagine playing this stuff in a football stadium with 60k+ crazed fans. Mayhem ensues.
Haha
If "Hunnu rock" doesn't exist, there will huge mass of people who don't know Mongolian tradition such us throat singing and Morin khuur... Thank you for your introduction about our history and price to the world...
Listening to this in Texas and playing it with the volume turned WAY up, I know all my neighbors are happy as I am listening to this.
Ironically, I found the HU during an MRI. I was given headphones to listen to music, when asked what style, I told her Metal. Once I heard them, I had to find out who they were. Been a fan since. Donated and watched their live concert stream for COVID in 2020. Love their version of "Metallica" songs!!! This band is Awesome! Its another level of metal. You cannot sit still when listening to them.
What a story.
Your story is so overwhelming and yet so nice !!! And I totally agree !!!!
How is that ironic?
You can have headphones during an MRI? I had nothing
That's amazing
And I, for one, welcome our new Mongolian overlords.
I see this as an absolute win
ok, well give me all your money then
And I, for one, welcome you into the new Khanate.
Same here
Did you say Overlords? I'm SURE you meant Protectors.
The Hu once again rocks the world.
Hope Mongolians never loose their original writing system, such calligraphy is beautiful and original... It needs to be taught within the youngsters of Mongolia to ensure it's legacy.
Sylenx1 they do teach us starting from middle school for people who pay attention to class know it pretty well

The Hu's music makes this old lady dance in her chair as their music pierces the heart.
Agreed. They're a nice bit of eye candy as well. ;)
This is awesome!
I am so glad my teacher introduced my class to Mongolian throat singing so that I could discover and appreciate these amazing songs!
When they said "shoog shoog" I really felt that.
Saw them in Richmond, last night. I think I’m ready to go conquer a country now. This was their opening song, and we all went crazy!!
First time listenning to The HU, and I must say, it's a complete surprise !
Can't wait to discover the rest.
Don't understand a word, but it don't change the fact I love it, I have liked everything I have heard from The Hu thus far.

I am NATIVE American, and LOVE the message in the music of the Hu!!!
I'm not, and I still like it. But of course music is universal.
@@firehornfireheart Well him being native American wouldn't make him appreciate this song more because it's Mongolian.
@@wildrain8602
Actually, I do appreciate it more because of the lyrics whose message is similar to our Native American Spirituality/Culture.
And besides, the music KICKS ASS!
The best part is that with translation, the music is accessable to everybody, who can identify with it in their own way.
THANK YOU, HU BAND!
👍👍👍
Wow there's some dumbass fucking ppl in here who like to start arguments just to argue. Stick to your mom's basements snowflakes, the original commenter was just giving his opinion wow lol
So am I quarter native American.
You give this old rocker/metal chick new meaning to life when all I hear nowadays is a bunch of depressing/trash shit they call music out there. You make the blood in my veins flow and I wanna rock out to your songs all day long! Thank you for translating your words into lyrics on your video to make us understand the meaning behind your songs.
If you people haven't searched TH-cam for The Hu lately, you should! There are several good videos of new songs posted by fans from concerts and EVERY SONG I HEARD WAS A HIT! These guys are beyond phenomenal. You are my all time favorite band now.
I can't wait to see them in concert!
The coolest and most melodic bass line I've ever heard. Shoog!
Respect and love from Mizoram, India.
That baseline is extremely catchy and really helps to drive the song forward. Everything else is working very well, but that bassline is awesome.
As a man who is not Mongolian, this calls to my primal soul. Let us not be taken by technology and never let us forget that we are men, together, and united. Fighting for the betterment of mankind. Women and children included. Together we will make this planet better.

I am a Naga, descendent of Mongolian race. I don't understand the language but there's something that really connects me with the song. Love "The HU"
Learn you can
These guys are doing everything right.
They are different and refreshing. Lyrics and Music blending in from their Mongolian roots, rich in ancient culture. Their use of attire and music instruments adding to the quality.
Then they are also making tunes that have a hook. If this song hits it off, you'll have metal heads all over the world going "Shoog Shoog!". It's a perfect type of metal anthem.
Couldn't agree more. And I'm more than happy to spread the word on their music. They deserve it.
This is a good song but this one isn't metal like most of their songs
as a mongolian i agree as well
Need more thumbs.

Granny Winters here. Another song from my new favorite metal band from Mongolia!! Been waiting for more songs from this awesome group, and they “hit it outta the park” with this one!! Waiting for the release of their album on iTunes!! Can hardly wait for the America Tour!! I’m hoping they make St. Louis one of their concert stopoff!! This band got me hooked
Just a reminder. About 30 years ago a German band “Enigma” was hugely successful. Two of their hits used Mongolian traditional songs, though out of still unknown to me reasons the two songs were labeled as of Chinese origin. The Mongolian singer name is Nergui.
Individually they are amazing musicians
But they have a special synergy that elevates the music
