As you see all the video, diesel is no problem to start even on -40, so these are bulshit you talking about. The old "story" for "diesel not starting at cold" is OUT from a long time. Why you need Webasto or warm garage, don`t you see that diesel starts even outside the garage and without Webasto ?

I live in Vantaa,Finland,and we have special type of connectors ( heaters ),which you plug into your car,to warm up the engine,gearbox,and interior. I however,never used any of these. Been driving Honda Accord cars almost all my life,except for when my ex got pregnant and had to buy E61 Touring BMW 520I. The only car,which,when i pressed the button to start,almost all possible lights came on. No warming up. The self leveling xenon lights failed,tire pressure sensors failed,ESP/ABS failed..and i dont even remember all of it,cause the car was shaking so bad,and had to turn it off. The Honda..my old one,2001,2.0 engine,manual. Zero warming,temperatures of about -42..two days at the parking. It cranked a bit slow,but cranked and fired straight away,no shakes,no drama. But it felt,that if it wasnt going to do it the first crank,then battery dies. It was keeping one last charge for one single crank. I love Honda.
у меня был мерс 124 кузов 300D не турбовый. Всю жизнь стояла на улице. Жил в северном Казахстане. Никогда не лил зимнюю соляру. летняя+ антигель. Никогда не подводил за 7 лет. заводился. пробег 500 000. MERSEDES W124.W140 DISEL-BEST AUTO!!!!
На 124 проблемы со свечами, с проводкой или реле. Сам убедился на своем 606, когда он достался мне со 124ым, нахолодную чихал и дергался. Давно грешил на проводку, был полный срач. Лампа гсла после заводки. Переставил на саненг корандо, сделал нормально проводку. Заводится в минус 20 спол оборота, не чихая и не дергаясь. Пришел к выводу, что реле не видело температурный датчик, без него лампа не тухнет до запуска . Сейчас балдею
wow.. never checked at -36, but i did at -23 and was hard enought. I tried PSA 1.4hdi and nissan 2.9("2.8") 6 in line. Even if psa engine was waay healthier, the nissan patrol started much much easy.. Nissan was VP diesel of low pressure (@300bar max), then peugeot was common rail of very high pressure injection. So.. not always newer is better :D PS: two years ago i tried my b5 1.9tdi vp37 (slightly modified) at -21°C after 3days. Started flawlessly, even if one of the glow plugs were not in runing order:).

Me too, it had either bad battery or star motor unit is so worn out, it will not round even battery is just fine. It would be peace of cake to older not so computerized models that is why it is so reliable and we have them so much in our cold winter on country sides with long distance no matter they cost on a new a lot and maintain is very expensive and they are endless money pits and that is why many hates these junks like Audi and BMW
@@sulutkin ...and this is why older audi and bmw are so GOOD too. im sure an audi 80 b4 for example will outlive the newest a4 b9 in average lifespan per car. old bmw e34s are already proven to keep pushing miles while newest (a while ago) F10 models went back to service with direct injection issues being the smallest ones...yes, they start much better in the cold than old diesels especially IDI ones. but still...
В Сибири к зиме надо готовится основательно!!! Если есть возможность то вообще тёплый гараж . Нет такой возможности то масло 0w , горелка газовая по возможности , на ом6.. моторах мерседес можно пройти по впускным колекторам , топливным трубкам , тнвд , форсуночки проходимся горелочкой!!! Акб должен быть дома на зарядке , в тепле!!! Присадки в дт обязательно! Никакого эфира , только горелка (мотор потом будет эфирным наркоманом) !!!! Естественно манипуляции с горелкой производим только с двс где нет пластика!

Bah, starters dont really break, if they somehow do, they are cheap to replace and that will make it easier to start anyways. its running out of battery charge you mainly have to worry about when a long cranking is necessary.
We dont have -40 here in southern Finland, -27 was coldest this year so far. Diesel users, please re glow your car if it doesnt start right away. Much easier for the starter and battery.

@@eknaap8800 Gearhead would be the correct word. Personally, I am not even a huge fan of petrol or diesel fuel, and to an extent I care about climate, too. If I could run my petrol car on ethanol made from food waste or something similar, would do anytime (ethanol is good for boost or high comp N/A, but not for cold starts or fuel mileage :D). I dream about having an old diesel waste vegetable oil-powered car. (dual tank diesel/wvo setup) I wish government would give us free hand for using fuels like that, but we can dream...

That Mitsubishi L200. It has the same SCV (suction control valve) as a corolla I used to own (1AD-FTV engine). And it dies in the same manner as mine did. So I have a suspicion it had a sticky SCV.
Не показатель, у меня когда-то Меган 1 в любой мороз заводился, когда сам, когда-то с помощью. Мог бы таких роликов наснимать. Но где-то дней 5 каждую зиму то стартер летел, то замерзал и не заводился. После него на Ауди 80 на 073 карбюраторе не одной проблемы в любой мороз.

Electric motors can be temporarily overloaded until they overheat, which is not really an issue here.

У меня пежо 306 на 1.9д без проблем заводился при - 30 при пробеге 500.000 и до меня его явно тысяч на 200 скрутили перед продажей)))

Не показатель, у меня когда-то Меган 1 в любой мороз заводился, когда сам, когда-то с помощью. Мог бы таких роликов наснимать. Но где-то дней 5 каждую зиму то стартер летел, то замерзал и не заводился. После него на Ауди 80 на 073 карбюраторе не одной проблемы в любой мороз.
Кто-то посмотрит и по этому выбирать машину будет

(Budget to run,because buying one with specs like that will be expensive nowadays)Keep it as long as you can, there won't be any more overbuilt, tank-like cars like the 124, especially diesel!

Чё творите? По столько крутите. Покрутили сек 10-15, опять грейте свечи. Крутить дольше можно, а иногда даже нужно, если стоит одна факельная свеча, например ивековские моторы. Там проходит время, пока он засосет достаточное количество горячего воздуха
Видно же, что свечи у них все дохлые, если люди без понятия столько крутят, какие нафиг свечи, им лиж бы завелась..
А каким образом греется свеча?
Просто ждать при включённом зажигании?
