I was so hyped for this and my word did it deliver. It does everything BotW did, but better. Somehow feels familiar and innovative all at once. Love it, hard to see anything topping this for game of the year.
The beginning really made me smile. I got a bit of twilight nostalgia. I like the new additions too from the upward warp to the pre-preparing you have to do otherwise you die to cold 🤣. I feel a bit more drawn into this game than the last one. The glueing mechanic caught my interest. I want to see if I can get an airship going like in the final fantasy games that'll fly but also run on water.
Use the floating platforms from the sky islands (the white ones) with one of those steering wheels They float forever they keep momentum You can recharge energy while you are stationed mid air They just need a bit of propulsion
I had the same feelings about the game at the start. It didn’t feel like a Zelda game, the great sky island was really hard to get around on, especially without a paraglider. I made it down to the land below and WOW the game feels enormous. I’m slightly overwhelmed by it. If I didn’t already know the map, the game would feel too big.
Everything about this game so far is awesome! Personally, I loved the sky islands! Ultrahand and Fuse are amazing. Also, I know some people complain about the quantity of korok seeds in these games, but I was so happy when I found the first couple of familiar korok locales. I don't know why I find it so satisfying, but I do. Can't wait to find the dude that lets me expand my ability to carry weapons and items, so I'm going to keep hunting deez (korok) nutz. I still find the breakable weapons irritating, but Fuse helps with that by making weapons so much stronger and more durable but just sticking to crap weapons together or pasting a rock onto rusty sword. Spikes on top of a long stick was a winning combo for quite a while. I've tackled 3 more shrines in Hyrule proper now, about to start serious shrine hunting so I can make Link a beefy boy.
i love this game so far!! i agree about the sky island feel. when i landed in hyrule it felt like being back home :) im not in a rush to go back up there lol but it'll be fun to explore later! im soooo happy i decided to stop playing botw in 2021 because re-discovering hyrule has been magical. i love that feeling of seeing a village or stable in the distance after a long time wandering in the wild.
I am absolutely loving this game so far but I need to be more clever at it, I saw someone fused one of the carts to their shield and surfed all along the rails! Genius!
I'm sharing the game with my husband so we have to take turns, haha. We're both still in the tutorial section, but it's been a blast so far! Feels weird at first being in the sky, but I'm excited to open up the world further.
I had some problems with my preorder but finally i got it at my local store, and boy oh boy.. so far i love it ❤️ i got to the same point - I finished the "tutorial" islands and I really enjoy the gameplay 🥰 I hope I won't give up in the middle of the game because of open world. But story told at the beginning seems interesting! Thanks for your first impressions 🥰
The Great Sky Island gives you a free pair of pants that helps you gives you cold resistance if you check the all the chest so it doesn't bother you the rest of the time on the Island then it helps on Hyrule too but not as good as the Rito Village armor but yeah.
Great review and i love that honesty in you Ircha😊👍🎮let the gaming flow and bring some imagination show..have a great saturday there and greetings from Finland
I will be living in Hyrule probably for the rest of the summer. I have been enjoying every square inch of this game so far. This game hit me differently than the first one, I cannot put this game down since I've had it installed. For once my steam deck will be gathering dust for a bit. And I don't feel like putting this game on the steam deck. I kind of prefer having something smaller and lighter to carry around for a while. I love my steam deck but I'm loving the switch even more right now.
I loved breathe of the wild epic game! I was having the same feelings in regards to this game. I’m gonna folllow your advice I know I’m going to fall in love with this too. Thanks again for the superior review
in the first 3 hours i said with my self its the same map and little bit of new sky map but when i found the underground map and new abililty this game is amazing how to build and can have flight to explore and car this really game of the year
I just finished the second shrine in the sky islands. I'm enjoying it so far, although I wish that they had used new sounds and made it look a little different than BotW. The ultra hand ability is pretty cool, although it was tricky to learn how to rotate things properly. I think I'm starting to get it. The fuse ability is great so far. I'll definitely have to experiment a lot with both abilities. I'm excited to get past the tutorial area and on to the open world. I think I'll get there pretty soon.
Yours is the only video I clicked because it promised no spoilers ;) My copy still hasn't arrived in the mail. It doesn't matter because I started BOTW two weeks ago, so I'm not going to play TOTK anytime soon. Loving it ❤
I love it. I didn’t think I’d like the fusing ability on Zelda originally, it looked tedious and I thought it would get overwhelming, but I actually really like it. I thought they’d done everything there is to do in games but it looks as if Nintendo has found a way to innovate and keep things fresh once again.
You are so right about the sky island, Irene lol really got annoyed by that section and the lack of fast travel until the end, I was ready to pull my hair out and missed so much that I needed to back track. Extremely frustrating play through and I was just ready to get my horse and travel faster
@@ircha I don’t know how everyone did it haha the game made it almost impossible to go back, I missed the spicy peppers in the early section and didn’t think to move the korok across the rail until I saw a tips and tricks video, it took hours of trial and error for me just to go back to those areas. I think they designed it to be linear that’s why, painful experience instead of fun 😭
just so u know they released zelda satisfy grips and I'm playing totk atm I did cosplay earlier this morning sending my son off to school I love everything zelda

Great video! I'm glad I'm not alone the start and these sky islands dont feel like Zelda. I'm ready to be on solid ground. 😅 I'm trying to get to the last ability.
I want to love this game, but since I didn’t bother finishing BOTW I won’t buy this. I do love watching you gallop across the world on Epona, though! I like old school Zelda games. This review was great, though! You look stunning as always.
Love the video… don’t know if I’m picking this one up yet… call me crazy but this game as well as Breath of the wild are stunningly beautiful but they are not Zelda games to me… hard to explain it. ❤ to Irene and her channel.
I love open world games. I love Skyrim. I love the Witcher 3. I LOVED BOTW when I started playing and got many hours in. Then it hits you. There's just TOO much. Too much to remember - too many abilities - too many puzzles. I was COMPLETELY lost when I ventured in to the first divine beast. I had to watch tutorials on how to get through it - which I eventually did. I gave up at the second divine beast. Then you add in the frustrations of needing to have a multitude of recipes to help you through cold/hot regions. There also is not a one size fits all clothing item to wear - again you have to seek out individual items that serve a specific purpose and keep them all in your infantry for constant switching. In a nutshell - if these games focused a little less on the puzzles and survival metrics - and you had more steadfast weapons - you would have the PERFECT series of games. Nintendo please take note for the third installment! These are just my opinions anyway.
Hey! I just got this game on the day it’s released. So far I’m loving it but I just started it heading to second shrine now 😂 The graphic is so beautiful of the game. It’s also similar to breath of the wild. This game is gonna be amazing and so much to do tho 😅 I hope you are enjoying this game so far X
I agree that the opening of the game felt odd. I think its because its so similar to BOTW yet slightly different, you don't have any of your familiar tools with you. And yes the Ultrahand can be a little cumbersome but I have gotten better at it. But I'm happy to say I'm 6 hours in and holy crap the game opens up a lot. I have that same feeling like the first game where I just want to explore everything and can't put it down.
I'm having a blast. That said, I do miss some of the old abilities. Especially infinite bombs. Those were my bread and butter in BoTW, and now I have to go farm bomb flowers, which just aren't the same. I'm also struggling a bit more with both combat and the shrines in ToTK (I say this as someone with over 500 hours in BoTW). Don't get me wrong, ToTK is absolutely amazing. I can already see myself putting tons of hours into it. I'm just missing the slightly easier feel of BoTW, and the bombs. Mostly the bombs.
@@ircha Yep! That's my plan. It's still not as easy/convenient as the controls for dropping bombs in BoTW were, but I definitely plan to use the heck out of bomb flowers in this game, just as soon as I find a good farming spot. Fwiw, I also preferred having separate arrow types (fire, shock, freezing, etc) vs the whole "aim with a regular arrow, attach an elemental item from your inventory, and shoot" system, but I'm still holding out hope maybe the ability to pre-craft and equip elemental arrows will be a thing later in the game... if not, that really sucks, too.
I haven’t been enjoying this game like I did with the first. I’m not a fan of the new abilities and having a hard time defeating villains/monsters. I think I’ll put this game down for now and try again later when I’m more free to relax.
I'm sorry you feel that way but I think you'll find this one very user friendly if you give it a try. They do a great job of explaining the mechanics without holding your hand. Ultimately its a game about exploration and trying things out - boss battles can seem really intimidating if you are not confident, but the more you try things out, the easier you will find it. This is probably the best game I have ever played and I'm not particularly skilled, so if you get a chance to give it a go, sieze the opportunity :)
I have the same problem as you. I recognise that BOTW is a great game but I just can't get very far into it because of the need for fast reaction time and mastering the combat moves. These things are outside my wheelhouse. I'm also rubbish at solving puzzles 😅
@powerplant I doubt they would still enjoy it. At its core, it's the same game with new mechanics, characters, story, etc. But overall the difference between it & Breath of the Wild difference wise objectively wouldn't be a hug percent. Combat is same even with the creation system, but objectively still the same. A shrine is a shrine. New enemies are meh. Point is if they didn't like the 1st they won't like 2.
@@powerplant. I've seen several reviewers stating that ToTK is actually more difficult than BoTW, and I agree. I put over 500 hours into BoTW, yet I find myself dying way more often in the first dozen or so hours of ToTK than I ever did in its predecessor. The shrines are also more difficult. I know a lot of people complained that the shrines were too easy in BoTW, and it seems Nintendo heard those complaints and adjusted accordingly. But imo, they may have gone a bit too far in the other direction. Don't get me wrong - the game is great and I'm absolutely having a blast. But if someone struggled with BoTW, they probably won't find ToTK any easier. Quite likely the opposite.
I played a good 8 hours today but still haven’t left the tutorial area. Trying to make my way back to use my arm on the sealed door. Can’t wait to get my paraglider and get on the ground tomorrow!! I went in the wrong order and died a bunch during the snow section. Having a blast!! Can’t wait to get good!! 😂
I sadly don’t have the funds to pick it up right now. So I may go back and play BOTW… OR I may just continue playing Atelier Ryza because you got me hooked to that series 😅
I hadn't planned on getting this game anytime soon because of the $79.99 price but today Cheap ass gamer posted a link to get the game for only $49.99 so i purchased it as fast as I could 😂 It'll be here in 3 days. I'm really looking forward to it!
Let me say, I always liked zelda but never just loved zelda games. But this game is fantastic, I will go as far as saying this is one of the best games I have ever played. Go ahead and give it goty, no other game is going to touch it
How did you get past 3:46 the broken train track??? I have glued so many carts together in different formations using 3 fans and I cannot for the life of me get past.😢
For me this game is the finished version of bot. This one has a tutorial, very explanatory. bot for me was more difficult on the beginning than this one.
So far I like the game coz i love challege and i really like the they add more map levels ..and i think this is the second game that i invest my ideas the other one is ACNH . Somehow the developer of this game wants to challenge all the gamer hehehe . i think BOTW is their trial but this is TOTK is what they want to present to the zelda fans. So for me i dont play rush i enjoy when i'm playing so this is impressive. I love it GOTY for me. 🥰❤👍
Played an hour, and i partially agree it hasnt the feel yet, kinda feels a but more like botw a little, but the mechanics of what it allows, ive yet to see a game similar that isnt menu choice restricted. About to lose track of time soon and play a few hrs.

The scale is just absolutely jaw dropping isn't it. I got it cheaper than full price but I think it absolutely justifies its increased price tag.
Those are some good and honest first impressions!
I'm intrigued by that holder for the Switch that attaches to your Pro controller!
Love your first impression review, I lack the capability to finish BOTW so this one is not for me but I'm interested in your opinion of it.

My biggest dislike with BotW was it didnt feel very zelda themed. Im pretty sure I just saw link craft a motor boat so I guess not much has changed.
That accessory for your controller looks dope!

With that said.... the sky islands are so beautiful and fun. I love the now Shrines

I hadn't planned on getting this game anytime soon because of the $79.99 price but today Cheap ass gamer posted a link to get the game for only $49.99 so i purchased it as fast as I could 😂
It'll be here in 3 days. I'm really looking forward to it!
Your horses from BOTW are still available in the stables 😀
because of the backlog I have , I will get it after I find it in a better price.
Very reasonable! 👌
I need to finish the first before i even buy the second do i need to play Age of Calamity first
I’m loving TOTK so far, less difficult at the begging than BOTW in my opinion
Let me say, I always liked zelda but never just loved zelda games. But this game is fantastic, I will go as far as saying this is one of the best games I have ever played. Go ahead and give it goty, no other game is going to touch it
So true. This is game of the year. If not game of several years lol. 😂 👍
How did you get past 3:46 the broken train track??? I have glued so many carts together in different formations using 3 fans and I cannot for the life of me get past.😢
For me this game is the finished version of bot. This one has a tutorial, very explanatory. bot for me was more difficult on the beginning than this one.
LOVE it😍🥰
Me too 😁 👍
Thats a dope hoody!
They are there because the gloom coming up from Ganondorfs body in that area is making peeps sick, so they go and investigate, insta regret lol
Yeah... True 😂 😂
Ircha hair fleek
Thanks 😚😚
So far I like the game coz i love challege and i really like the they add more map levels ..and i think this is the second game that i invest my ideas the other one is ACNH . Somehow the developer of this game wants to challenge all the gamer hehehe . i think BOTW is their trial but this is TOTK is what they want to present to the zelda fans. So for me i dont play rush i enjoy when i'm playing so this is impressive. I love it GOTY for me. 🥰❤👍
At least this video isn't sponsored by G2A.
I hope you like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom!
They look so good but I hate puzzles lol. I should try the first one again but damn Nintendo prices staying high!
I like this video of Irene more than I liked the actual game.
@IrchaGaming, I love this game too! You haven't posted alot of videos lately. Everything ok?
I still average at 3-4 videos a month 😊👍
Game Of The Year!
Would be cool with an easy mode
Where can we order the skin for the fixture s2?
What is that gadget you are using to holding the switch on the pro controller?
It's a Fixture S2 😁👍
Love this game 🤩
Don't forget new Zelda t shirt
fantastic game, so far put about 10-15hrs in
So, did you find out what the keese eyeball on the shield do? 🧐
🤜🏻🤛🏻
Nope 😎
Played an hour, and i partially agree it hasnt the feel yet, kinda feels a but more like botw a little, but the mechanics of what it allows, ive yet to see a game similar that isnt menu choice restricted. About to lose track of time soon and play a few hrs.
Tears of the water seems like a good time!
Thank you for joining the @diskydisk livestream ❤
@@ircha was such a live!
