How to Make Glass Can Wraps with Sublimation Stickers
You may ask why we would do this…for a couple of reasons really. Let me break it down:
- While you can sublimate directly on sublimation glasses, you aren’t able to get any white ink on your design. So with sublimation stickers, you get the benefit of the white background to complete your designs that need white “ink”.
- Sublimation stickers are waterproof and dishwasher safe (I’ve put my glasses on the top rack with heated dry and they came out just as nice as they went in.)
- You get the look of detailed designs without the need of a tumbler or mug press. So, if you have already have a Cricut machine, sublimation printer and a heat press, you can create your own glass wraps.
- You get the look of detailed designs without having to cutting and weeding several layers of individual vinyl.
- While you can create a similar effect with regular inkjet stickers, you won’t be able to have waterproof stickers without adding a laminate sheet on top.
- You can also create something similar with printable vinyl, but again you won’t get the benefit of it being waterproof
- You don’t need to purchase sublimation ready substrates, these stickers can be applied to regular glass, ceramic, stainless steel, etc.
- My sublimation printer prints way better than any other printer I have, so the clarity is amazing!

Been trying to figure this out for days for the silhouette and you have just shown me where I was going wrong thank you so much my only error wasn't doing the mirror on my computer when printing
Would you do the same process for a printable vinyl sticker paper up until the heat press part? Maybe not mirror the image as well. I'm new to all of this. I'd love to see the step for uploading the file into cricut design place for the print then cut part. This is the first video I've seen that doesn't make me feel lost. Thank you.

thanks for the video, can u use regular printer ink on sticker paper then cut and wrap ur tumbler or does it have to be sublimation ink. New to my crricut joy xtra and you have a new subscriber also ❤
What would the difference be if you just printed that straight into a white printable vinyl paper though? I'm a bit confused 😭

You can certainly try! Test it for water resistance.
Wat settings do u use on ur printer to use for the A-sub print?
I use the default settings on my sublimation printer for rigid materials.

I don't know. They may not be made for long term outdoor use.
