I love all the classic Floyd stuff, but this song touches a place that is very personal and peaceful and wonderful. You can almost smell the sea air and feel the sand on your feet. One of my favorites.
Do you know what has changed? The relationship between music and people. People don't like music as much as they did in the 90s, 80s, 70s, 60s and 50s. That's why "music is dead"
@@goube2000 yup. Now they only like music about wet ass things and the number or Grammys you win is in direct correlation with the circumference of your ass.
Such a lovely song! I think it may sound melancholic to some because of the trick Roger used - a serene dreamy Gmaj7 chord followed by a G minor 6 which usually seems unstable and unsettling (the bass line emphasized it here). But I think it's a nice combination, overall it sounds so cozy, langurous. Real pleasure to sing. Back in those days Pink Floyd could allow themselves to make something like that, not so dark and heart-wrenching.
Great lyrics, btw But I found this song depressing, I think that this song is a reference to World War II, a obscure meaning while the music sounds happy yet melancholy Hail Pink Floyd
I do appreciate your efforts here, but you are incorrect in the first line of this song: it is "... slide a rind down behind," not "slide a line down behind..." This is a common error; but take a look here for confirmation: www.pink-floyd-lyrics.com/html/san-tropez-meddle-lyrics.html
I hear your soft voice calling to me / Making a date for Rita Pavone ( fonte Wikipedia)

Richard's piano playing is exquisite in this track!

Meddle was one of the first tape I ever received for a present, i was like 12 y/o and I was hooked on the sound, I could not believe it.
Pink Floyd is the only band that makes me look inside myself...
Greetings from Brazil... 🇧🇷
Give me this on the radio over The Wall any day!
Always uplifting and carefree.
Great lyrics, btw

Hail Pink Floyd
What is the liric about?
The song is about what Waters thought the average day in San Tropez would be like.
It’s about his time with the band and family in San Tropez in ‘70
Never mind the study , listen the sound of pink Floyd its better than chemistry...
Hahahahahahaha! Pink Floyd is chemistry!
Toda la música de Pink Floyd fluye a través de mis neuronas y me lleva al éxtasis por caminos diversos
Nice song...seems to make you think of lazy days with nothing to do...while you're away from your woman.
Good then good now ❤
