I have the 1080p version of the cosmos laser and I love it! Although even if I had the 4k version of it that wouldn’t change the fact that I think the SE might be the better deal. Firstly it has google tv os not android so that’s an instant bonus, secondly it has a dual light source of laser and led, thirdly Dolby vision and two hdmi ports instead of one, but mostly I think it’s better because it doesn’t lose Bluetooth when switched over to hdmi. Said Bluetooth is only available on the original laser version when using the streaming dongle it came with, otherwise you have to use an independent Bluetooth device or just rely on the built-in speakers (which admittedly aren’t bad at all but I’m in a small space so I kind of prefer my audio to come from the front not behind. To make a long comment short I’d probably go for the SE if given the choice.
I have the 4K on my bed side table (best position I can have it)... Its fan is quiet enough to be near you and not too hot if you have brightness down (for night/bedroom viewing). Fan does ramp up abit when full brightness with abit more warmth, but its definately tollerable in my opinion. My favourite feature (which i didnt think of when buying this) is that it retains all your logins, so when you take it to a friends house, or on a holiday - plug it in, join wifi and you're ready to go. No logging into a Random TV at an Air BNB, setting up each app/login for friends/kids etc.. its tiny enough to easily pack up for car trip holidays. Plus HDMI to pluginto any game console or player that place may have. (Hope this helps anyone)
Hey there yes, you will benefit from a long throw ALR screen. You could look at Valerion ALR screens or Premium Screens, or if you are on a budget, Elite Screens on Amazon with a long throw ALR.
@ thanks - 2 more question please. The answers may be in one of your videos but I wanted to check as it’s first time I’m using any projector… my depth or distance from seating area ( sofa) to the projector wall is 450 cms - is that good enough for either of them, and b) given that’s Laser 4k is 2 years old and SE is new with Dolby vision and some other newer enhancements including more ports, would you recommend this one more. The key for me is large screen size as I have 180 cm by 500 cms wall available to me but sharpness and true colours .., I was originally more skewed towards laser due to image sharpness and more bright in day viewing with some blinds open but am veering from one to the other. Any guidance will be very helpful. Thanks
In what areas would those be better than Plus 2 then? Pro 2 is more expensive, but Plus 2 is in the same price category and should beat those at everything. Maybe portability though, if it is critical for someone...
I think it will come down to what you prefer and your budget. These projectors certainly punch above their weight for the price and lots of competition in the space now too.

I really appreciate your detailed comparison. Side by side projector comparisons are game changer. Great video, thanks!
Dang it. Still confused what to get. Wish they would have just made a brighter and better than the 4k version
Sorry I tried my best to explain both pros and cons.. For me the laser 4K is the winner even though the other one has dolby vision.

You wont be disappointed with the SE. My preference is the Laser 4K, but both are great!
Can I Apple AirPlay to it?

Yes its an under rated projector especially sitting in the budget end of the market totally affordable but awesome images.
I bought mines 2 months ago for 1095 cant beat that price for what you get
Yeah it’s a pretty good deal!
Oh yeah I did buy the bundle got the case for 84 dollars all together with taxes paid 1270
What about 3D you didn't mention that???
Thanks for this @buildmontage. Can you suggest what is the best screen to use to project the laser on. I have a blue wall unfortunately 😮

What app are you using for the db readings? Looks sexy!
It's called dB Meter - I paid for the pro upgrade.
Who would need that if you can get Valerion Plus 2?
It's all about choices. I also reviewed the Pro2 on my channel recently. These are still great choices for a lot of people.

Link provided doesnt let you ship to Australia.....
Sorry thats the links they gave me :( I think you would have to order from the AU store.
@ yeah, it’s not actually available in Australia yet, I managed to get a refurbished Amazon unit from US, fingers crossed it’s in good condition!
None of the above

Lucky you have other options to choose from
What is a better option?
