Honestly, I was ready to give up in the first 10 minutes, but real happy I didn't. This show actually was more and more funny as it went on.

I'm torn.
Button vomiting skull was scary, reminding me of both sea sickness and dysentery. Neither is funny on a ship at sea.
But we all know that cats are instruments of pure evil, so it's a tie.
fun fact, the real Stede Bonnet, actually paid his crew a salary, read them stories and taught them all to read and write he was truly the gentleman pirate.

I hope you continue. This is the funniest show I've seen in a while and for me it just kept getting better the whole season. It's refreshing to me that all the characters just are who they are without offering any explanation or making a big deal of it. The show as a whole is the same way.

Taika Waititi stuff's usually good. So many good actors in this. I've personally been a big fan of Rhys Darby (who plays the lead) for years now. Him and Taika have been friends for a long time and have worked together on other things. But he's in a lot of good projects, including some hidden-gem ones that I could recommend. But the places people usually know him from are "Flight of the Conchords", "Yes Man" (the Jim Carey, Zooey Deschanel, Bradley Cooper, etc. movie) and the newer "Jumanji" films. He does a great job in those 2 movies as "Nigel" Billingsley the N-PC Chauffeur and Jungle Guide.
Underrated for sure.!
@@GlenOwen A Darby project I recommend though - the 9-episode series "How To Be A Gentleman", created by and starring David Hornsby. Hornsby (looking quite different though) played the white villain / and creep "Boomer" in "Good Girls"; the netflix series with Christina Hendricks and Mae Whitman and all them. That show's got quite a good cast.
But in HTBAG, Darby plays Hornsby's brother-in-law; through Rhys's wife / David's sister. And she's played by Mary Lynn Rajskub. the brunette from "Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde" and "Night School" the Kevin Hart film and "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" occasionally; she's just really good in a lot of really good project herself.

I can also tell you that Cheryl Texerau from "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" and the Boy Meets World sequel "Girl Meets World" is in a few episodes of that too. So it's really worth checking out.
This all show was mind-blowing, turning in completely unexpected direction from episode 4, but still full of absurd humor. Waiting for your reactions for next episodes.

i think taika waititi's name is pronounced 'tie-kah wuh-teetee', i know you didn't mean any harm but as white people it's important we learn how to pronounce names from other culture's, ESPECIALLY indigineous ones

Honestly one of my top fav shows rn. Can’t wait for Season 2!! Also- the queer community loves this show for its awesome strides in representation, so it holds a special place in my heart for that.
Late to the game here, just discovering your channel, but Taika Waititi is pretty easy to pronounce - "Taika" is Māori for "tiger," so just say "tiger" with a NZ accent (taigah) and replace the G with a K. Waititi is "WHY-tee-tee" (emphasis on the first syllable). It's super easy with practice.
Fun fact: young Stede Bonnet is played by Rhys Darby's son Theo

Are you planning on continuing this series? I absolutely adored it. It would be best to go into it unspoiled if you do, but imo it's incredibly hilarious and yet gets very emotional at times too. The episodes are short which can be a plus or minus depending on the person, but overall I'd say the season didn't suffer from it. The cast is awesome too.
Anyway, nice reaction. Only suggestion is work on your audio because it's kinda hard to hear, but otherwise good!

The only disappointment in this episode was the reveal of what I just thought was the obligatory woman-in-disguise-on-a-ship-trope. Doubly disappointing as I thought it was actually Blackbeard hiding amongst the crew to instigate a mutiny and take over, mainly because of the big black false beard. Had me fooled for half an episode.
