Surprised they were the second unit to clear the whole roster.
third, spear warband did it as well
Chosen axemen vs The seleucid cav roster
Thanks for suggestion. I will add that to TO-Do list :)
My cataphracts have not been doing as well recently, but I suppose it is to be expected when going against elite phalanxes.
Pikemen in total war is insanely OP. When i play macedon i just do like 12 pikes. 6 archers, 2 heavy cav. I beat everything. Even on legendary. Its so easy.
Thanks for the comment. Agreed vs AI. In multiplayer, some players can give a pause :)
Not suprised by this result.
I guess Royal and Silver Shields will have the same results.
Thanks for the comment. Silver shields have the same stats, so at least they. Royals should fare even a bit better :)
i always hate the fact that silver and bronze shield have the same image in the unit as royal pikemen but a so little shield
oh and chosen axemen vs chosen swordmen or bastarnae
Agreed on that :) Thanks for the comment.
Can you make the phalanx formation a bit wider so they don’t get flanked?
That'd either make them really OP or lose in one of them probably
I suggested on a previous video to have the test conducted on a place with a narrow choke point.
ex. City
so there won't be any debuff on the Phalanx formation and the test being bugged out due to bad path finding
@@micalangenburg1706 That's a really bad idea, as cav are really wonky when in city streets, especially on huge unit sizes.
They wouldn't be able to hold formation and they would probably charge more slowly.
Not to mention wrap arounds are quite realistic.
Thanks for the suggestion. Every unit has been in the starting width to make things equal :)
carnage and i love it
Anyone who says chariots are a usual unit in rome total war is trolling 😂
Would bronze and silver shields be the same? Because technically they are the only pikemen who can’t face the Seleucid cavalry roster.
They have identical stats, if memory serves, so yes.
@@gustavchambert7072 that makes sense.
They're the same unit stats-wise. The only difference is that Bronze Shields don't have extra fatigue in hot climates, fight better in sand and a little worse in snow compared to Silver Shields. Which is odd, the Seleucids start in a hot climate as well, but Silver Shields get tired there faster.
@@iIiIiTGR777iIiIi Selecucids are considered a greek civ, and Pontus a persian civ, so that's probably where the different buffs come from
