they should not play together, and if this signing was to play him on Kane's line that is a horrible mismanagement of personnel.
the best line last year by a mile and a half was Kane Cat Larkin. Kane scored 1 goal all year without either of those guys on the ice w him, and had 8 5v5 goals and 13 5v5 pts in 11 games w them as his linemates. that's Hart trophy stuff. Raymond is or is supposed to be a play driver, let him drive the 2nd line w Senko and Compher. Kane is a superweapon of a player but he esp at this point requires certain linemates or you don't get the benefit. and the benefit is very great, greater than anything Raymond would do in that spot. team has to do a cost-benefit analysis and figure out which lineup maximizes the most talent and has the best overall results on production. seems clear to me what it is.

We really didn't lose a lot of offense.. 😅 and honestly with the addition of Vladimir Tarasenko and having Berggren up now where slightly better offensively, not to mention a likely fully season worth of Patrick Kane.. also Gustafsson is nothing to sleep on offensively and responsible defensively as well.. the Red Wings overall have definitely improved from last season.. they're basically a baby Florida Panthers team slowly into making..

Younger than Perron. Maybe he can help some of the younger guys like Berggren/Mazur/Kasper. From a skill perspective, could do worse than Kane, Tarasenko, and Datsyuk on the drill/skill building/mentor side of things.

Tbh Perron was good but he had a ton of gaps (wasn't to big of a fan of him). Tarasankeo will most likely fill in the gaps DP had.
