My brother took his own life the same day George Floyd died. As a result, I was completely numb to the media circus that followed. I'm a compassionate person, or I try, but I just couldn't care. I was swallowed by my own personal tragedy. So I appreciate this analysis. It helps me to revisit the story with new eyes.

But Floyd like many had demons and if we"re going to have an honest conversation all aspects of his life need to be addressed. Addressing his bad side does not mean that he deserved to die. Funny you should mention that. Lamont did a video of a St. Louis veteran police captain who responded to a pawn shop robbery during one of the Floyd riots, and ended up getting shot and killed in the line of duty. But since his murderer was also black, it hardly got any media attention.

A police officer once said, "It is a front row seat to the greatest show on earth." There were officers holding George's legs, there was no reason to kneel on the side of his neck. On the other hand, if you can yell "I can't breathe," repeatedly, you can obviously breathe.

It wasn’t until I watched the whole entire trial & seen the actual police cam footage that I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt the police officers ( all of them involved with this terrible tragedy) are INNOCENT!! the officer didn't intentionally kill him most the blame goes on the bystanders. He kept looking because the other officer kept telling the crowd to move back shows it on film, he was put in a position of being there longer for that reason the crowd period was also to blame

I waited til I saw everything about the case. When I saw the body cam footage is when I realized that both the cop and Floyd were equally guilty. If GF had just sat his ass down when the cop was putting him in the squad car,he'd still be alive to commit more crimes.

By the way a few years before George Floyd was killed,a young 14 or 16 year old male was beaten in the head by Derek Chauvin and once again Derek Chauvin sat on the back or chest of these teen.There were people standing by recording that as well.This young teen had blood running from one of his ears from all of the blows to the head that Derek Chauvin gave him.John Pope's parents already have lawyers that are going through the court process to have Derek Chauvin tried for this crime.This young man thankfully by the grace of God survived. The only problem is his long term and short term memory has been affected. The problem was that once he was on the ground, he wasn’t given a chance to comply. Chaivin told him to get into the car, and Floyd said he would. But when he told him to get up right at that moment, Floyd said that he couldn’t, which is understandable given that he was still pinned to the ground and couldn’t move.
George Floyd's death was not accident. Chauvi meant to keep his knee on his neck and got comfortable when the man said he couldn't breathe. I don't understand the commentary.

Sorry Lamont I have to disagree with you in the video at 7:18 when you said it was an accident but it actually wasn’t an accident he murdered George floyd and he had priors as a police officer causing harm to the African American community it wasn’t his first charge he was charged 3 years prior with conduct unbecoming of an officer after he handcuffed a 10 year old child who was African American and slammed him into his police car and also 2 years before that he was suspended for slapping a woman she was arresting so I’m sorry but Derick chauvin was a violent criminal himself and he used the oath and the uniform of a police officer to commit crimes against the African American community so I have to disagree with you Lamont the murder of George floyd wasn’t an accident it was murder. Hi Lamont, I have been going thru your postings on this channel for a few weeks now. I enjoy and do sub to a few of your others channels. And sometimes I post a comment. So I am a little bit behind on this channel. I respect your point of view, and honesty. I think maybe it could open a pathway to more discussions on this case and others. I feel that some should look at this piece and "argee to disagree". No need for hatefulness. Do I agree on your description of the police officer? Yes I do, the US does not provide the needed training to police officers. In most of Europe, it takes year's of training for a person to become an officer. In the US it takes only a few months. Police Officer's need additional training to deal with people who suffer with mental illness, or addictions. Do I feel that the money spent on his funeral was out of control? Yes, I think that money should have been placed aside for his child. Or it could have been setup to help other's who have addictions, or maybe a scholarship in his name. Do I feel the Officer should service time? Yes, he is sworn to protect and service his community. His actions that day reflected he did not care to do that. Mr. Floyd was restrained, he was not able to breathe. No indication that the Officer was in fear of his life. He had no cause to keep his knee on his neck. He failed to up hold his oath, in doing so he needs to answer for his crime, as would anyone who breaks the law. I agree that some people used his death to just riot. Nothing will ever change if we riot. We can be angry, but we take that anger and we use it in a peaceful matter. Change comes from open dialogue, that express the pain, hurt and suffering that Mr. Floyd's death caused. Words are more powerful than we know. Hey LaMont, you mentioned that some people might debate whether George really deserved that big funeral, but always remember that the funeral is for the survivors. So if it helped his family to feel better having that big expensive (donated) casket, and the horse drawn carriage etc. let them have it all. The funeral was more about the way he passed and by whom. It may have been extra and overdone but it was done to soothe the restless soul of the country who witnessed this horrific death by people who are employed with serving and protecting. He could have been arrested and taken away but it ended otherwise. We can not unsee this event and those of us with sons live with this fear everyday. Our children are not perfect and most come from difficult backgrounds but by no means should anyone have to see another person expire like this and it happens all too often. Make it make sense. Thanks for covering him though. I do not agree that the officer felt bad, he didn't care and I do not believe that he will do all of his time. This country is rooted in hate, it has never gone away. The cycle designed to be in place will remain as it is beneficial to those who govern it.
Thats an outrage, mr Floyd was in the wrong when he wouldn’t do what the officers asked, now I think how the officer handled it was sickening and Mr Floyd did not deserve to die, but if people would just follow the law and do what the police tell you to do these things wouldn’t happen. But Floyd like many had demons and if we"re going to have an honest conversation all aspects of his life need to be addressed. Addressing his bad side does not mean that he deserved to die. Funny you should mention that. Lamont did a video of a St. Louis veteran police captain who responded to a pawn shop robbery during one of the Floyd riots, and ended up getting shot and killed in the line of duty. But since his murderer was also black, it hardly got any media attention.

Criminal or not, we all have the right to due process. In the future, when an officer of the law arrests a person, they will think twice before they kneel on the suspect's neck for over 9 minutes.

I waited til I saw everything about the case. When I saw the body cam footage is when I realized that both the cop and Floyd were equally guilty. If GF had just sat his ass down when the cop was putting him in the squad car,he'd still be alive to commit more crimes.

The problem was that once he was on the ground, he wasn’t given a chance to comply. Chaivin told him to get into the car, and Floyd said he would. But when he told him to get up right at that moment, Floyd said that he couldn’t, which is understandable given that he was still pinned to the ground and couldn’t move.

Sorry Lamont I have to disagree with you in the video at 7:18 when you said it was an accident but it actually wasn’t an accident he murdered George floyd and he had priors as a police officer causing harm to the African American community it wasn’t his first charge he was charged 3 years prior with conduct unbecoming of an officer after he handcuffed a 10 year old child who was African American and slammed him into his police car and also 2 years before that he was suspended for slapping a woman she was arresting so I’m sorry but Derick chauvin was a violent criminal himself and he used the oath and the uniform of a police officer to commit crimes against the African American community so I have to disagree with you Lamont the murder of George floyd wasn’t an accident it was murder. If it was an accident him and his fellow officers on scene wouldn’t usher people away from the scene and wouldn’t give each other cover stories like they had done it was first degree murder in my opinion and opinion of many others and he was found guilty of murder too now spending 25 years to life in prison where he belongs he is what makes good police officers look bad because of him no one will trust police again

Hi Lamont, I have been going thru your postings on this channel for a few weeks now. I enjoy and do sub to a few of your others channels. And sometimes I post a comment. So I am a little bit behind on this channel. I respect your point of view, and honesty. I think maybe it could open a pathway to more discussions on this case and others. I feel that some should look at this piece and "argee to disagree". No need for hatefulness. Do I agree on your description of the police officer? Yes I do, the US does not provide the needed training to police officers. In most of Europe, it takes year's of training for a person to become an officer. In the US it takes only a few months. Police Officer's need additional training to deal with people who suffer with mental illness, or addictions. Do I feel that the money spent on his funeral was out of control? Yes, I think that money should have been placed aside for his child. Or it could have been setup to help other's who have addictions, or maybe a scholarship in his name. Do I feel the Officer should service time? Yes, he is sworn to protect and service his community. His actions that day reflected he did not care to do that. Mr. Floyd was restrained, he was not able to breathe. No indication that the Officer was in fear of his life. He had no cause to keep his knee on his neck. He failed to up hold his oath, in doing so he needs to answer for his crime, as would anyone who breaks the law. I agree that some people used his death to just riot. Nothing will ever change if we riot. We can be angry, but we take that anger and we use it in a peaceful matter. Change comes from open dialogue, that express the pain, hurt and suffering that Mr. Floyd's death caused. Words are more powerful than we know. Violence and damaging your community will not change this world. It will only give people the wrong message. I am sorry for the long post. Lamont, I truly enjoy your channels. Hey LaMont, you mentioned that some people might debate whether George really deserved that big funeral, but always remember that the funeral is for the survivors. So if it helped his family to feel better having that big expensive (donated) casket, and the horse drawn carriage etc. let them have it all. Maybe it helped his kids to feel like their Dad was someone respectful, you know? Those kids have lost their Dad, and at least they have that big deal to remember him by. Thanks for your time. The funeral was more about the way he passed and by whom. It may have been extra and overdone but it was done to soothe the restless soul of the country who witnessed this horrific death by people who are employed with serving and protecting. He could have been arrested and taken away but it ended otherwise. We can not unsee this event and those of us with sons live with this fear everyday. Our children are not perfect and most come from difficult backgrounds but by no means should anyone have to see another person expire like this and it happens all too often. Make it make sense. Thanks for covering him though. I do not agree that the officer felt bad, he didn't care and I do not believe that he will do all of his time. This country is rooted in hate, it has never gone away. The cycle designed to be in place will remain as it is beneficial to those who govern it.

Thats an outrage, mr Floyd was in the wrong when he wouldn’t do what the officers asked, now I think how the officer handled it was sickening and Mr Floyd did not deserve to die, but if people would just follow the law and do what the police tell you to do these things wouldn’t happen. Thats why we have laws and police to enforce the law.

I've also learned to not trust anything that is said by the media or the people that did the autopsy we're not here to judge we don't know.
