What I really like about viewer specials is showcasing not just famous actors and actresses, but famous historical figures, presidents, war heroes and many social figures.
One thing I always appreciate is that we are "introduced" to so many people we may never have heard of otherwise - who they were, how they lived, etc. It's enlightening.
Arthur does a great job in looking up the perfect interesting tidbits about the people that the viewers shine their cameras on that bring us these specials
I am pleased to have my contributions included in this special (Miami, Rolando Barral and Wayne Cochran!) Thank you to Arthur for his marvelous work and to the members of our Hollywood Graveyard community. ❤
I had the pleasure of interviewing Kenny Rogers in 1979. One thing that struck me is that he looked a person right in the eye when answering a question, which left my 23-year-old self more than a little flustered. 😊
Arthur Dark and the viewers special is my favorite guilty pleasure. Mr. Dark's voice and the mesmerizing music accompany us on a journey to the golden age of glitz and glamor, He showcases our history, mysteries and most of all, our strengths and vulnerabilities.
Always the best notification to get😍 stuck in hospital once again, nearing on 4 weeks this time. So thank you Mr Dark and all the viewers who sent in videos for brightening up my evening❤️❤️❤️
13:05 I’m more than honored to be featured with my latest contribution to the Hollywood Graveyard Viewer’s Special series; with this being my third (technically fourth) in fact! I would like to not only thank Mr. Arthur Dark for his amazing-as-always works in narrations, preservations & performances, but a special thanks to to all of my fellow members of the genealogical, historical & taphophile fields! (P. S. If you’re curious about my previous submissions in this series, they were Minnesota’s Magnus & Francis Johnson & South Carolina’s Bill Pinkney!)
These grave visitation videos are so wonderfully made and Arthur Dark is a smooth as silk host. I look forward to them. I get to visit graves all over the world that I wouldn't be able to visit physically. Thank you Arthur, and all who contribute to these videos.
I ❤ looking forward to watch Hollywood Graveyard, R.I.P. to all whom have been featured in these episodes. Looking forward to MORE episodes. Many Thanks Arthur Dark❤😊
Again, Mr. Dark, you have saved my youtube viewing experience today. Thank you, and this community at large, for the effort it takes to create these unquestionably honorable and exceptionally well produced videos. Again, thank you all.
It's truly a gift to those of us who enjoy this series that we take the time and patience to do the legwork in searching these sites ranging from worldwide fame to lesser type fame. We supply the raw footage as Mr.Dark supplies the biographical text. It's educational, informative and just plain entertaining. I know we all look forward to these series when they come out. Bravo to all of us but especially Mr. Dark. 😊
I love how you highlighted so many musicians. Harold Reid in particular was a huge part of my childhood listening to the Statler Brothers with my grandma as well as introducing me to gospel music. He and his brother, Don, made up half the Statler Brothers. Thank you Harold for being such a huge inspiration. How amazing is it that someone visited David Peverett? I was able to visit Foghat's guitarist, Rod Price, in New Hampshire in this string of viewers specials.
Howdy! Enjoyed the stroll through the beautiful Cemeteries of the South with some of them with there own landscape of Autumn Charm. Such a vast and wonderful variety of those lost but not be forgotten Thanks to You Arthur and your Viewers on this perfect watch of Viewers #23.🖤
Hello from West Virginia USA. On my family tree John Tyler wife is my Grandaunt one remove. I love see all your TH-cam videos. In Ohio in Jackson County Ohio is some famous people buried.
This is one of the better ones by far. It contained a little bit of everything. Mr Dark did a superb job editing all the great footage sent in by the fans so also kudos to them.
One more person in Arlington that everyone seems to have missed, Audie Murphy. Most decorated US Soldier, then became an actor. Read up on his life :) And yes I did visit his grave in 1997, I don't remember if I have pics, but it was a moving experience for myself.
I was about to start rewatching all of them when I saw there was a new one! I loved this one! Keep up the great work of editing the Viewer Specials Arther!
Buckwheat Zydeco has a special place in my heart. He co-headlined an outdoor concert (with Fats Domino) which was my then 5-year-old daughter; it was her first live music event. Halfway through his first song my daughter loudly proclaimed "I've gotta dance" and did just that through his entire set. ❤
Singer William Guest was a distant neighbor of mine when I was young and during my adolescent years I'd see him driving his kids to school every morning. The last time I saw him in person was at a highschool football game that I attended. He was a very nice guy.
Crash Holly is a legend and the situations he went though to defend the hardcore title were hilarious!!! Why he wasn’t inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame is beyond me!!!
So happy to hear your voice again! I really do love your graveyard tours, have seen them all!! Enjoying from Switzerland, dreaming of being somewhere in the United States. Again. Thank you! 😊
Hollywood cemetery in Richmond, Virginia, is sometimes referred to as the Arlington National Cemetery of the confederacy. Awesome video, thank you very much Arthur, and everyone else who contributed to it.
As always the history associated with these viewer specials is just that very special and thanks to the one who highlighted Anthony Newley. Thanks to Arthur, your hard work is appreciated along with those who submit their contributions.
I been to the Sun Records in Memphis, my brother was standing on the spot where Elvis stood. Wow this is great my brother is visiting Graceland as I write this.
One of the songs from Kenny Rogers which is "You and I", "Through The Years", "Islands in the Stream", etc. Kenny Rogers was one of the friends of the Bee Gees His music legacy will forever lives on and his memories will never forgotten. He surely will be missed 💔🥺🕊😭
Another great video! Thanks to everyone that sent in submissions. I was familiar with so many this time. Playwright Paul Green wrote the outdoor drama that has been performed in my hometown for over 50 years. I was involved with it 2 seasons. I lived for a bit in Clover, SC, and i have seen so many of the county stars in concert back in the day. I also got to see Marty Robbins race at a NASCAR race.
Green Oaks in BR holds a special place in my heart. My Paw Paw and his brother whom both passed away last year are buried there. Lost them within weeks of each other. Miss them so much ❤
Nice to see some of the clips I sent in made it into the video! I sent in quite a few different figures for you to cover, which - though you didn't get the chance to cover them - I'm satisfied I shared with the Hollywood Graveyard team regardless. There's quite a few other figures buried in and around Richmond and Petersburg, many of which I sent to this channel, but unfortunately didn't make the cut. However, l covered many of the ones not featured here on my Grave Spotlights; including Major General J.E.B. Stuart, Major General George E. Pickett, Matthew Fontaine Maury (his headstone appears in the John Tyler clip), Major Chatham Roberdeau Wheat, Nora Fontaine Maury Davidson, James Netherwood, Doctor James Drew McCaw, and Major General William Phillips. Some other clips I shared - but I haven't covered on my channel - included Major General William Mahone (he built the Petersburg and Norfolk Railroad, was the "hero of the Crater," and was the head of the Readjuster Party), Brigadier General William "Extra Billy" Smith (known for being the oldest Brigadier General of the American Civil War and fought against the oldest Union General at Gettysburg), John Mercer Patton (Senator for Virginia and Great-Grandfather of General George S. Patton Jr.), and Edward Virginius Valentine (famous artist who made numerous monumental statues and who's art studio became the Valentine). So, if anyone is interested, you can check out my youtube channel; where I cover a host of different people and discuss various topics pertaining to the American Civil War and various other topics (with just a smidge of silly nonsense in the mix). For those who are interested in learning about various men who fought during the American Civil War, I'd recommend checking out my videos covering various Civil War battles and the men who fought there. So far, I've covered the entirety of the Seven Days Battles, the Bermuda Hundred Campaign, and the First Battle of Petersburg (specifically the Battle of Rive's Farm/"The Battle of Old Men and Young Boys").
On a final, interesting note: Richard Eubank - the Coxwain of the boat that took Washington across the Delaware - has a rather unique headstone. Allegedly, the headstone was originally a *Meteorite* that his descendants found. From there, it was made into a carriage step - a stone used for people to climb into a carriage - before it was converted into a headstone.
This one was great. The grave I was surprised and excited to see was Buckwheat Zydeco. I love zydeco and saw him in concert a number of years ago. He was a sweet guy
I never expected to see Johnny Horton's grave. He was a favorite of my Moms, mine too. I can still sing some of his songs, 40 years later. Heh, I wrote this before his famous song came up. The Battle of New Orleans is one of the songs I can sing 😁
Thank you Arthur for using my contributions of Stringbean and Grandpa Jones. Always wanted to do one of these when you did the viewers specials. Thanks also for the email reply letting me know you got them when the website had the endless hours of the loading circle after submitting.
That's this evenings watching sorted! Thank you for all the hard work you put into these videos. You bring many of us a lot of pleasure! I'm from Liverpool, Uk.
Thanks for adding my contribution to the video. Emmett Miller was the choice i picked. There are lots of famous people around midddle Georgia. Still have a few more for the next viewers special. ( Anthony Foster )
I got to see Jerry Lee Lewis perform around 10 years ago. My best friend has always been a big fan & when Jerry Lee was advertised as coming to a nearby city here in Southern California, I knew we had to see him. When the opening acts were done, it was his time. It almost seemed that somebody in the wings gave him a push to get him started, and he shuffled across the stage like Emperor Palpatine, but once he got to the piano, that man came alive. It was like seeing a totally different person. So much energy in his movements, such life in his voice. Definitely an amazing thing to see.
Sorry Mr. Dark, I'm late watching the video. I still love Song of the South because of the music and Uncle Remus himself. I got so excited about this video because of the presidents and alot of the musicians found. Great job everyone!
What I really like about viewer specials is showcasing not just famous actors and actresses, but famous historical figures, presidents, war heroes and many social figures.
100% agree on this one. I feel that somehow, they all connect.
That’s one of the reasons why I love them too!
100% agree, I love these videos. Arthur is doing a great job
One thing I always appreciate is that we are "introduced" to so many people we may never have heard of otherwise - who they were, how they lived, etc. It's enlightening.

I just interrupted watching Fred Thompson on Law & Order SVU to watch my Hollywood Graveyard episode. What an interesting surprise!
I saw Hank Aaron's record breaking homerun. Only one word can describe this episode, EXCELLENT!!!!
Again, Mr. Dark, you have saved my youtube viewing experience today.
