Hi Jay...thanks for this junkyard vintage moment...;-). That girl is too far gone, but still have plenty of good parts...and very expensive. The windshield and all the glasses are a very good amount. Maybe driver side doors and fender is still salvageable, some trims. If you guys enjoy to see this old Detroit iron restorations go to Cold War Motors channel. This guy..Scott restore a lot of this 50s , 40s and even 70s era cars. His house looks like a junkyard from the 50s full of cars..Pretty cool.
It's really sad actually many years ago that car was hauling a family across the country going to McDonald's getting serviced at an old gas station were they actually did service there and wash your windows and pump the gas for you that car raised a family and I'm sure there is a person out there that had found memories in that car so sad when a car dies breaks my heart the fact that that car has no engine the engine probably blew up in the 60s and it got parked never to be driven again that car probably has less than 70,000 miles on it
That wagon brings back memories. My grandmother had a 1959 Ford Ranch Wagon. Hers was a pistachio green two door with a straight six and three on the tree. Back then, cars were a work of art. These days, they're mostly cookie-cutter.
Cool '59 Ranch Wagon. I think they were the base model wagon, probably had a column shift standard with a six cylinder. I'd say it's '67 plates were its last, and its been sitting ever since. That's completely rusted away and good for only stainless trim. Thanks for the great video again!
My family bought a 1992 Buick Century back in 2011, it was a good, reliable car most of the time. We had to replace the starter motor on it due to oil getting into it, and the crankshaft sensor. Sure, the A/C didn't work, and the windows didn't work half the time, and the headliner sagged, but the best part of that car is that it didn't have a speck of rust anywhere on it. Sadly, we no longer have that car, because some idiot tried hotwiring it, and broke the gear shift clean off, and damaged the ignition switch. My parents and I were sad to see her go.
'59 Ford Ranch Wagon. We had a '59 Country Sedan. Deluxe interior, 292 4bbl three speed, Fawn Ran and White, tutone! Great wagon. I was in first grade, and very sad when we traded it in for a Galaxie 500, Tudor in 1966. I still have the same car. I bought it from my Mom in '86, and I am still Loving and driving the Sport Coupe today!!! Love it!!! I still have a real soft spot for the '57 to '66 Ford wagons! Great glass, some interior and good exterior trim! That license plate is a real survivor.
Reminds me of my 56 caddy when I was 16 the fin's the big bullet front bumper. Yup paid $50.00 bucks for it supposed have had a seized engine but found out it only had some wiring problems and did it haul ass when I got it tuned up and roaring. 😂👍👍👍👍
I had one of those Suzuki Verona's. It ran good! I had it for 13 years. Bought it new. And maintained it and worked on it myself. Was a good running car.
Too cool! Lots of great rare pieces still on that one, the windshield especially. Ford P/Ns: B-1950s, C-1960s, D-1970s, etc. Usually the number after that letter is the single year of the decade. My 67 Mustang was built in mid 1966 and the engine block is a C6 P/N, other 289 blocks I have and have looked at were all that number if they had 6 bellhousing bolts. The C5 blocks were 5 bolt.
A shame to see the car didn't even make it to a decade on the road. An eerie time capsule that did not withstand the tests of time! I can't remember ever seeing a Ranch Wagon, I would imagine that would be equal to a Chevy Biscayne. Low level trim
VIN is C for 292 V8 with 2 barrel and 200 HP, 9 for 1959 model year, E for Mahwah, NJ assembly plant, R for Ranch Wagon/Country Sedan and the rest is the production sequence. 71H for body is Ranch Wagon, FE2 is the exterior paint, I think that's F for Fawn Tan lower paint with an E for white upper paint, 26 is Fawn Textured Vinyl Bolster and Bamboo Pattern, 10B is February 10, 1959 production date, 3 is Fordomatic 2 speed transmission, and 2 is 3:56:1 rear axle.
Oldie but goodie love those big station wagons and back in the day you could load the whole neighborhood up in them and head on down to the nearest drive in lol👍😆...
Jay, I always say this is the best one yet, but this one is the best one yet. I have to edit this for my own motley bunch of greasers, but other best one was the Caddilac Catera. :)
Ahh, there will always be another one down the road! It will be cooler and take the place of this one. But, this guy, is done for, used for parts and lets send it to that big highway in the sky
Look at that PATINA! (I just like saying the word "patina") that's "rust, corrosion, tree and bird poop stains" to us, laymen. But that is a cool old Ford! I bet it was last on the road in 1967 just judging by how much PATINA it has on it.........PATINA!
I always loved the styling of vehicles from that era. The rocket thruster taillights were very cool. It has some goodies left to give. Don't crush it just yet.
Before I scrapped that I would cut the roof skin out of it, they're popular for filling the top in 30s hot rods. Left fender looks to be saveable, bumpers, steering column, front and rear glass, upper gate, most of the trim, even the grille. Possible someone would want those rear quarters to make a pickup bed out of. I bought the dash out of one of these a few years ago - it was even the same color - and had no issue selling it for $100 at a swap. Had the cluster and stuff like that one but no radio. I got it at an estate auction already out of the car. Someone already pinched the best part on it, though, the 9-inch rear axle. You won't sell the stuff fast but that stuff is getting so hard to find now anywhere that for the space it takes up it will sell down to a bare shell.
So sad... This rusted, rotted out beast was once somebody's brand new pride and joy! The 50s were the golden age of automotive style! Tail fins, jet-inspired tail lights, front bumper Dagmars, wrap-around windshields... So pretty!!
Color me crazy but I think she's got alot of life left in her. The fact that all the glass and trim is still there adds alot of value imo. She'd make for a great long term project or a nifty ratrod cruiser.

I half expected the old wagon to start rebuilding herself like Christine when he was singing that 50’s song.
Not too surprising the rear end is gone, '57-'59 wagon 9 inch is a very desirable piece, same width as '65 Mustang or Falcon.
Looks like a '59 to me; someone would kill for all that trim, esp. the wagon only stuff.

Ae86 Hachi there’s some parts here to help save another project. But this particular car on its own is just a little too far gone.
It would take a lot of money and fab work to get structurally sound again.
I just bought a 62 mercury comet that had been parked and left to rot at some point, all the rust thru spots so far are related to how/where it was parked vs how it was driven (In other words where water had come in and rusted out the metal instead of salt eating it up). The trim and wagon specific parts are probably the most valuable. Shame most folks used wagons as parts cars.
My thoughts exactly, just like the old 4 door novas getting chopped up to save horrid coupes... Ill never let anyone live that down haha
How much for the horn button and the mounting brackets? Building a 1950 ford business coupe hot rod and that button would look mint.
