So happy someone has already bought this survivor! Ciener Edition on the tail gate, shows the Ranger was sold new at Paul Ciener Ford in Kernersville, N.C. The dealership added aftermarket options, like sun roofs, mag wheels etc. If you want more history, you can google Ciener Ford. Have a great day!
Nostalgia!!!! My dad had a 86’ and threw a 5.0 Mustang motor in it and boy did she FLY. I loved hearing him roast those back tires. Had the 80s classic red interior, Eventually he made it a swamp buggy. Lol
You got yourself a new sub from Spain! Wow those trucks are great, remember those 80,s teen films. Never saw them here in europe, where pickup trucks are extremely rare..
Wow jay that truck is so smart. I can’t believe how clean it is underneath. Over in the UK 5 year old vehicles don’t even look that good. I hope you find a new buyer for it. It should easily go back on the road. That front end is beautiful the way the hood and wings are shaped round the lights and grille.
Had a 1984 ranger from Arizona and it was a great little truck that I didn't drive in our shit show salt infested winters it got parked until May two wheel peel and pulled my 1958 mohawk just fine people would ask which one is older the boat or the truck. Great video Dr Fingers. 😁👍👍👍
That’s a nice clean truck! It will shine up nice. Very well equipped for period. And seriously clean underneath. I dare say this would make a good collectors truck.
I like the color scheme on that truck. I saw a Ford ranger in this body style today. About 60% of the paint was the factory color and the other 40% was poorly-matched spray paint covering up rust repairs. That's pretty much par for the course here in Southern New England.
My dad had an early ‘90s extended cab Ranger with a 5 speed manual that he bought new. It had well over 200k when he sold it to one of his friend’s son. He is still using it as a daily driver. Great little trucks!
You have a Merry Christmas and Happy New year too, Jay. That sales brochure was sure a time capsule. That guy in it was totally in mid 80's fashion! Thats what I looked in 1987. Clean Ranger thats for sure. That 2.9L V6 is a good engine if you keep the oil changed often... like every 3000 miles... same with the 2.3L.
@@MXguy95 sell it to somebody who needs it more than me, anybody in the park would love it. the lil black one is perfecto for me. Just let me have a manual gearbox, or I'll just stay home and have my meds sent. go hang out in the ac office at the "townhomes) deveopment, set up a tent down by the lake. make a legal offer of one peso, then camp out on the worst (best) spot. father sergio will send me food...
Jay !! , The 80's called .. they want their Ford Ranger back !! :P haha i had to say it .... omg that is a beautiful truck .. the frame rails are MINT !! the bottom of the doors are MINT !! sweet 80's collectible ....
Hey Hey Foxy! Yea the rust hasnt touched this time capsule yet! Hopefully it finds and home and gets the love it deserves! Straight out of the 80s is right! And it needs preserved there!
trip down memory lane and i thank you for the look. i had the 86 2.0 stick. one tank of gas would get me from kalamazoo michigan to 1.5 hours south of louisville ky. ford basically remade the model T with this truck. i could get thru on highways closed due to snow blizzard and never got stuck. 71k its just broken in. that frame and under body is a jawdropper its so clean. i would drive that now rather than my 2009. which has 71 k by the way!
I had an 87 with the 2.3 and a 3” suspension lift and 2” body lift. I still miss that little truck. I blew the 2.3 up at 140k and scrapped the truck. One day maybe I’ll find another one.
Wow, I’m surprised you were able to kill a 2.3. I had a friend with an 85 Mustang with one. While kind-of a gutless engine the damn thing seemed practically bulletproof. His had spark-knock really bad, he ran the thing hot and it still kept going.
brian5o yeah I think I may have over-revved it. I had it in 4th gear on the interstate doing 65mph (cuz 5th couldn’t do over 50) and had a piston self destruct. I tore the engine down and found that one piston was completely gone, and the neighboring cylinder had picked up a chunk of one of it’s rings and put a .090” deep groove into the second cylinder.
Dang already sold ha well at least it was saved that's all I care about lol . I love the old rangers like this and this one is really nice was taken care of for sure
I saw this video was at a wrecking yard and I clicked on it thinking it was gonna be crushed and I'm so relieved to find out this ranger is gonna find a good hom
The truck was originally sold by Paul Ciener Ford, so the Ciener Edition on the back most likely means it was a dealer special edition, often done to help sell vehicles that are hanging around on the lot. That sunroof may well have been in it since brand new as it's the right type for a non-factory unit from 1987 and may well have been fitted as part of the special edition trim package. This sort of dealer special edition was very common with Ford main dealers in the UK during that time so it makes sense that US dealers would also do it with slow stock...
Dang Jay save the ranger! It’s low miles and it’s in great condition and a good combination with the single cab and short bed! BTW what happened to your 88 ranger you had a while back?
I completely forgot they went back to 1987! That looks like it is in good condition! I wish that the new ones were made two door and had front split bench seating!
Damn....that's A nice truck! I'd buy it, but I'll probably get outbidded. (outbidded....it that even a word?) With no rust, I bet it's never seen a winter. Wow. Whoever buys it is gonna have a nice ride. That sunroof is definitely aftermarket. It was probably installed by a dealer. Hince that fancy script on the tailgate. Reminds me of the Kustom Kreation trucks back in the 90s. You could have all kinds of ground effects, wheels and two tone paints on Silverados, Sierras, S10s and Sonomas. Even wood grain center consoles.
What a beautiful, original Ranger. The wheels on it remind me of the 87-93 Mustang turbine wheels. I’d drive the hell out of this little truck, the only thing it’s missing is a 5-speed manual.
Oh, I wish I lived somewhere where a 32yo car looked like that underneath. These were mostly ridden hard and put away wet so I think you can forgive a few cosmetic blemishes (and you likely have an antenna, radio, dash trim, spare tire and letter 'O' laying around the yard anyway). she's off to a loving home.
Beautiful lil old Ranger! It’s no wonder that one sold so fast If it wasn’t sold already I’d bet y’all would have a line of customers wanting to buy it (And a bit early to the holiday wishes eh? Lol)
That’s a nice one! Irritates the piss out of me when people don’t use floor mats😡 I had a 87 ranger and it was clean! Red outside and red inside. I loved it. Transmission went out and sold it
OMG! What a beautiful truck! Please save it! Oh, I could clean it and make it look prestine! That carpet needs to come out and be degreased and power washed. OMG please save that good looking truck!!
ASC McLaren did ALOT of sunroofs for Ford and GM. Usually sold as kits and the dealer would install them. Or the kit would be installed at the factory.
T.A. Brown looks like it has a sunroof and floor shift automatic. Thanks for clarifying, I thought it was a ciera edition lol damn 144P couldn’t make it out too well
I had an 85 Ranger and it was well cared for. After sixty thousand miles it became a money pit. I got rid of it and have never had another Ford, went to Nissan and they run for ever with very little problems.
i need some more s10 vids. hell yeah sweet ranger though, my local police department has like a '02 ford ranger that I saw in service today (in a major city) I guess its for boats. cheers
Haha yes, I chuckled when he called that a 'fixer-upper'. Come see some of what runs around in Mass or even the UK - much newer than this but way beyond economic restoration.
Is it a 2 or 4 -wheel drive? A guy who worked for my stepfather about 24 years ago had a 1987 Ford Ranger XLT 4 x 4 extended cab with the 2.9 L V6 and an automatic transmission. The four-wheel-drive and his was electronically controlled by a push button that was located in a ceiling console in front of the rear view mirror.
PSA. THIS IS AN OLD VIDEO THAT WAS LOST AND RECOVERED! THE SALE FELL THROUGH AND THE TRUCK IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR SALE !
Jay Smart How old was it?
How much is it going for? My buddy would probably buy it in a heartbeat.
I could use it I have a Bronco II for parts.
Where is it for sale

I learned to drive stick on my dad’s ‘88 Ranger.. this brings back great memories of that truck
Chris Wilson those mini trucks are awesome to learn stick on! I learned on a 91 s10 4 cylinder
Ok I really like that ranger , so clean
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year? You threw me off with that one!

Wow besides some minor things with the Ranger it's in a A+ condition, very nice. 😊 Great video Jay and hello Jesse 😀
I love these old cars and trucks I miss the way things were made back then on well

Grew up driving these rangers and broncos with the 2.9 toughest damn trucks that were made
My first truck when I got my license...87 ranger STX...with the buckets 5spd 2.9 4wd loaded
Had the first year ranger, it was a great truck.
You are right, these are the best looking rangers made.
Glad it's saved. Very rare to find in that condition.
Damn this is a good looking truck... all of them up here in Alaska are rotted out and dented up.
Dam thats a nice truck i had an 1984 with a 2.8 liter v6 i wish i had that one.
Nice little. Truck and if runs the truck still be in good shape
That truck is solid for the year.
That's in amazing condition considering its age!

Oh I guess you figured out time travel!
Merry xmas and a happy new year to you as well!
Sorry, old video lol
cracking truck, wish I still had mine
Keep the wheels & paint, throw a high output Mustang 302 & 5 speed and you'll have a badass Restomod
Thats an idea Ive pondered. A nice little cammed 302 would be the bees knees in this thing.

Another great vlog. Thank you for all you do for us subscribers.
Really nice truck.
I liked my 2.9.......thats a sharp little boogie
Nice truck 👍👍👍
Like those years of Rangers. Need one to tow my Scamp.
That is one sweet ride.
Sure hope whoever gets it will maintain it and keep it from becoming a pile of rusty scrap! 👍🏼
I used to have one just the same black and silver standard trans great truck
Bought a 87 for pizza delivery, 2.3, 5speed, no air, xlt, long bed great trucks. Always hated the stupid button to remove the key
How much is it? Where is it located? And what’s the best way to get a hold of you?
Always loved that body style
Early 1980s Ford vehicles were sexy as hell.
Love those turbine wheels like from dukes of hazzard.
Glenbo24 or the ones from a delorean
Man, the body on that thing is mint..
Looks like a nice truck

Oh! the Dingin', make it stop! LOL
That teuck is awesome iam not a ford fan but damn thats nice that would be a good v8 swap
only ranger ive owned was an 83 -2.3 /stick no ac -no power anything ,served me well !
I see it a lot where someone at the auction or towing the car breaks the dash to get a head unit, like where do you even take those to sell
If you were closer to me I'd probably buy it.
Is it a 2 or 4 -wheel drive? A guy who worked for my stepfather about 24 years ago had a 1987 Ford Ranger XLT 4 x 4 extended cab with the 2.9 L V6 and an automatic transmission. His also was silver with a red interior. Silver seems to be a very common color for these first generation Ford ranger pick ups.
It's in amazing shape
OMG the dinging, make it stop man. Jesus.
That's a nice FRD Ranger. It's missing the O so it doesn't get one for free.
Nice old truck.
Those rims (I think) are Dodge turbine rims. Very nice if I were closer I'd buy it
