Please don't overwork yourself! Shorter, smaller videos are fine! Happy new year! I picked back up cross-stitching so did several Christmas themed ones that I gave to my coworkers which kept my hands busy.
I love the diversity of your content. Shorter videos, and a few easy wins like unboxing a new dress plate, are fine. This was a difficult year. My adult daughters both needed more support. But, my sons stepped up and helped out. Most momentous for me was that I completed a quilt that my late grandmother started for my father roughly 50 years ago. I inherent her fabric stash and a mountain of incomplete quilts. Together, my oldest daughter and I have been tacking that mountain. Together, we completed about a dozen quilts in 2024. But, that huge Dresden Plates for my dad was the most significant.
Here is hoping for a less dramatic 2025 But I got a bunch done, made 3 of my own designs into dresses I can wear, finishing up a year long temperature tracking knitting project. Made three cosplays for some of my favourite media atm, took up a new hobby and made new friends all while struggling with health stuff. I'm proud of what I got done this year.
Love all of your accomplishments. So sorry about Dora & Lion. This year was rough. I was attacked by one of our dogs (mistook my leg for another dog & tore my leg up). Had to end up putting him down. Then a week later, we were hit by another vehicle who ran a red light & we rolled over. - then my whole department at work was eliminated (30+ people). Most of us were able to go into other roles in what is considered a promotion though instead of losing our jobs completely - so, bright side. But we’ve survived 100% of our worst days - so doing pretty well. Here’s hoping 2025 is a bit less dramatic. 😂
When I get oily or greasy stains, I apply Dawn dish detergent and scrub the stains with a brush. I'm not sure if you tried that, though. It's rough that you lost both Dora and Lion in the same year. Regardless of how many different projects you work on in a year, I will come and watch your videos. I understand that your projects take time and effort. Having moved to a rural area in upstate New York in 2021, I've struggled to cope with the reality that I'm now completely dependent on other people for transportation. (I don't drive, and I was originally from Los Angeles county.) I managed to patch up some items of clothing, mail some clothes that I no longer wear to a textile recycling company, and edit some artwork that I made in recent years. To this day, I'm waiting for something to change in my favor.
I would love to be able to do even ONE of the level of costumes you make per year! You're incredible, especially with how busy you are, otherwise!! I can't wait to see what you have planned for the new year :) Do what you need to do to keep it manageable, though. Happy New Year to you and Maisy!
It was hard financially for my family. We're getting out of it, but not there yet, and it's draining. My singleton was a lot more draining physical on me than I expected and he hit milestone at the earliest time they say he should. I did get some crafting done. I'm nearly finished crocheting 2 of the hardest blankets I've ever done. I let my twins pick the yarn and pattern. They wanted the same pattern so that was good. I only have 1 pattern repeat on one and then put a boarder on both. I almost finished shorts for the summer that I tried making by shortening a pants pattern, there were fit issues. I made 2 pairs of pants. Both have fit issues, but I think I can fix them. I'm looking at this year in a good way because me and my hubby survived a very stressful time and we came out together and not everyone can do that.
For someone that has two jobs you do plenty! I only made half a dress and finished most of my sweater this year. I love to watch others make things, but lost the drive to do sth. myself. My life this year: I drove my dad to the ER after a nasty accident, had surgery in spring (nothing life-threatening) and traveled by plane for the first time in my life. My senior cat needs a footstool just to get on my bed and sleeps thru most of the day. Job is still the same, I am looking for a new one because I feel invisible. Luckily no tragedies this year, but it's been meh. I wish you a better new year!
It was such a treat to savor the details of that wonderful dress for 30 minutes. I find your sewing skills so inspiring. And your triumph over adversity uplifting. Take care of yourself and take time to focus on what gives you joy. We can wait. It will be worth it.
Anything you make is always a joy to watch. I particularly enjoy when you make mistakes. Because we all make mistakes. And I love watching YOU solve the challenge. You’re always so creative. AND THAT’S INSPIRING FOR EVERYONE ELSE. I must confess though I love your bustle dresses best. Although I am beginning to warm to those Regency court dresses… they do have a certain charm.
I'm so sorry about Lion. My dog also died from cancer, he was a sweetheart. You did great work this year, and I hope you have a good 2025! (also good luck in fiddler!!!!)
I have to admit that the Titanic dress & coat (also boarding suit) as well as the Regency dress you are wearing are my favorites. As far as just pieces goes, the Jane Seymore bodice is fantastic! I would look for any excuse to wear it too. If I could do it in all black, I'd wear it for a separate with so many things. It's very Cher like that way. lol All the doll clothes are cute & my favorite things to make since I am not a seamstress by any means. I like so many others were devastated for you with the passing of your pets. My cat I rescued shortly before my older cat got so sick & passed has turned out to be the most favorite fur child ever, she is way more like an affectionate dog, with all the dog traits, that I have ever had. It made losing my other two easier. 2024 was a HARD year for me as well, just my hubby & I making it through another year was an accomplishment! I truly hope we all have an easier 2025. Your videos & spending time with you is always a bright spot for me but do take care of you, burnout is very real.
I just discovered your channel this year and have enjoyed it! I've done some cool craft projects myself, but the best part of my crafting year was watching my 6 year old start sewing and accomplish some pretty big projects for a kid. Seeing that joy of accomplishment and pride in her hard work was so wonderful, I hope it's something she can enjoy lifelong like I have.
You sewed an amazing number of beautiful and complex projects! No need to apologize! Just keep sewing - because it’s good for your soul! Happy New Year! Glad Maisie is there for you! No pets = no good.😊
So many great projects! I think your chemise a la reine is my favorite. You nailed the aesthetic in the reveal. I’ll agree with everyone that we all want you to take care of yourself. Your “less productive” years are still so much sewing compared to what most of us could even aspire to. Do what feeds your soul and I wish you all the best in 2025!
This was also my year of purple! Unintentionally too. Ivemainly been knitting and I made a 40s style long sleeved cardigan, then I made a short sleeved lace cardigan for summer in rayon yarn, then I started a 60s style cropped cardigan in a darker purple. Im not mad about it lol. Purple is a great color. Its just how it worked out with using yarns from my stash so I couldn't just pick whatever color. It wear a lot that goes with purple, so its all fine :) And they were all different shades, so its all good. Yay for the year of purple!
I was trying to remember those projects I finished this year. I dont think I did as many as you accomplished. I did crochet a witches outfit, two mermaid outfits and both versions of Supergirl's outfit for my American Girl Dolls. I do still need to embroider the S symbol on the Supergirl outfits. I'm very proud of how they turned out. I completely understand that bit about burnout. Take care of yourself. I don't think I'll ever fully recover from caregiver burnout and I'm nearly 8 years on from my Mom's passing. I enjoy all your different types of videos. Gove Maisie lots of snuggles for me. For the grease stains I'd try Dawn Dishwashing liquid. I use it for oil and grease stains and it's really good.
Your work is such an inspiration for me. I can sew - but not like you! I have been stitching bookmarks because I found two spools of wide gross grain ribbon at the thrift store and now I can't seem to stop making them. They are pretty elaborate and utterly silly. I have accepted that I shall have to give in and allow the medical procedures that are promised to make my quality of life better - but I am not happy about it! It isn't the surgery, or the pain, or the meds. It is the reliance and imposition on others that I dislike. But, it has to be done. So, I will be turning to you and the others I watch to distract and entertain and encourage me. :) Thank you for that.
Love, love, love the boarding dress. Actually all the customs, lol. Do what you can and we will enjoy what you do. If you need to take time off that's OK. You can do an intro to your earlier videos and repost. Or just repost!
I enjoy when you make clothes for every day or when you fix thrifted things or whatever. I love all the costumes and historic clothes, but if you if you are of those and more clothes for you and your dolls, and I wouldn’t be mad because I know how intense consuming and expensive that the historic clothing can be. That being said I’m so glad you did all the Rose costumes. I love all the historic stuff, but I appreciated those all the more because of course we all watched those movies. I hope this year is a lot better for you in your family life. Losing pets is so hard. I hope you continue enjoying your acting and that your job goes well. One thing you do in your show is go outside to show us your costumes a lot and that just is so much fun for me because you live where I am from and you give me such a nice sense of home that you don’t even know how good that is for me . I know that’s silly because I have people back home still but they’ll send me cute videos of them in parks and places that I miss. Sometimes your videos feel like a postcard from home. You know postcards from there the best! Go easy on yourself because we’d rather have less of you than none of you and I have had some creators that I loved watching that just quit one day . That’s really hard. Please don’t do that.
Sounds like little Maisie came into your life at the perfect time to create the bond you needed. It's been a rough month and year for many, so many losses of the 2 and 4 legged kind, many communities have been rocked. You are not alone. I am sorry about the passing of Lyon, but he has been reunited with his friend Dora at The Rainbow Bridge(great poem BTW if you haven't read it). Here's to a kinder 2025!
I'm always so impressed with all the projects and activities you manage to juggle. I have never in my life been so energetic and disciplined! Maybe you are just feeling the pull to include more down time into your very busy schedule. I'm sure your viewers would be happy with whatever type of video you want to post - less progress, more simple, smaller projects, whatever. Hope you also have a much better year despite the political challenges we are facing 💙.
It's been a challenging year! I'm rooting for you, seeing your skill in sewing is honestly inspirational and admirable. The only thing I'm sorry for is the fact that you skipped the opportunity to address the issues with the original hot pink dress while transforming it, I heard that it's what is keeping some people from following you still, although it happened a long time ago. The transformation however is really great and it's one of my favourites of yours this year, aside of the range of purple gowns. Because purple is great of course! :))) I love your colour choices, you have the ability to match the fabrics together so well and make the colours pop and suit you great. All the best for the new year, may it be kind to you.
You did an extraordinary amount of sewing as well as working, doing theatre and dealing with personal tragedy as well as ... Well lets just call it world-on-fire bs 😬. I loved all your projects this year but roses coat and boarding suit and the doll Rapunzel dress were special favourites of mine ❤❤❤ I think you should do what makes you happy and work on projects that you're excited to work on and don't worry about 'owing' anyone videos or whatever. Take care of yourself Rebecca and happy new year 🎉🎉 (Ps. Maisie is precious)
Thank you for such wonderful content this year, and my deepest condolences for Dora and Lion. ❤ My sewing sadly dropped off for most of this year, however I did teach myself to knit and made a bunch of Outlander style shawls, gloves, arm warmers, and a cowl to go with all the 18th century costume pieces I've already made and I'm so pleased with how they all came out! And I'm in the middle of rearranging my house and setting up my proper sewing space in my bedroom, so I'm not cluttering my living room. lol Happy New Year Rebecca!
You have done amazing this year despite all the challenges and sorrows you've faced - you should be so proud of yourself. I understand about the burnout, it is a difficulty in a lot of hobbies/skills. I hope that you can keep a mental balance so that you can accomplish what you want to do without burning yourself out! As far as myself, I wrote two novels and a short story this year, which is not nearly as impressive as it sounds when I used to be able to do 5 or more in a year. Covid hit HARD on my motivation, and I'm still coming back from it. My sewing mojo is almost zero at the moment, which hasn't stopped me from buying fabric because I can make plans, but follow through has been really, really hard. Thank you for sharing your journey with us, it really does help. I watch all your videos because they help me feel connected to sewing even if I'm not doing anything at the moment. Best wishes for a better New Year for you, and sending you so much love and support!
Your videos and projects are always wonderful to watch! Hoping the next year is kinder and gentler to you. I just purchased my first home and have enjoyed decorating it (usually once it's done, I don't exactly enjoy painting in the moment). The wall above my fireplace mantle is a pastel-y rainbow and my office is light pink with dark purple accents with my favorite art everywhere on the walls. It'll never be featured in an interior design magazine, but it makes me so happy to see it and be in those rooms.
Happy New Year! I'm blown away by how much you've done, and how much you've made. Just the fact that you have to really think about where to keep it all strikes me. I love watching you create, but I also love watching you wear a piece with joy. I hope that 2025 sees you making more pieces you love to wear, whether at special events, every day, or both. Especially both, I think.
I got grease on my deb dress before the deb ball. One of the ladies, who is also a seamstress suggested babywipes, it helped on my white gown. I now keep some with my sewing at all times
I'm excited to do a summery 1940s/50s peasant dress cosplay of Belle's village ensemble! Then I have a WW2 Utility Ensemble based on Mary Poppins Returns! Perhaps I'll do a 1940s Femme Fatale cosplay of Vanessa from The Little Mermaid! I also want to do a 1920s 1 hour dress based on Glinda's Shiz uniform! I also want to do an Ariel-themed beach cosplay, perhaps in the 1930s or 40s? That's all I have planned for 2025, just vintage stuff! I'm excited!
Here’s to a less stressful 2025! I’m hoping to get back into sewing more since I spent a lot of time taking up cold process soap making in the last year, but there’s only so much scrubbing I can do.😂
I loved the reegency court dresses I hope.you.get a chance to use it again as it was so much work but I would also be interested to see what you turn it into when you are ready too
Maybe you didn't so much sew less or did less projects, but did some really difficult and time-consuming stuff? The Rose coat was so much puzzling and trying to get it right! The regency court gown had so much trimming and turned out a masterpiece! Anyway you did more sewing than I did ! I upcycled a skirt I was bored with by adding a ruffle. Then I also made a Hedgehog Hollow wall quilt which turned out really cute, but that's all the sewing I did. I am proud of the quilt but had planned to make some more summer blouses... And yes, I would like a planning video!
Happy New year, we got a new furbaby this year, Aphradite is now 4&1/2 months old tuxedo, but my oh my has she got claws, I look like i feel in the roses, 😂. She is beautiful and loves me, ❤
Happy New Year. Lady Rebecca! Such beautiful costumes and I look forward to seeing what 2025 brings!! 🧵🪡 The biggest change of 2024 for me, was I moved down south over the summer. I still can't find half my stuff. 😭 As for sewing projects, my sister and I plan to make cloaks to wear with our ren faire outfits. And I have the feeling I'll be trying to put together a fairy princess outfit for my Auntie, who will probably come with. 😆
Sigh. I also had a really significant loss in November. I'm so glad the holidays are over. I forgot that you're basically working three jobs! Feel free to back up even to a video every two weeks if you need. Your feeling burnout and you need more time for resting and to give yourself space. We'll be here. ❤
I've got a few closets stuffed full in my house. If you go back to one of my earliest videos in 2020, there is a closet tour, and it's still basically the same (just more full).
@ Happy New Year! Believe it or not it’s my Birthday today. What a treat that you had the chance to answer my question. I know you are so busy with lots on your plate. Thanks so much!
With the regency court gown, the bodice is relatively timeless. Could you gather the skirt in the back and wear it as a VERY bustled bustle gown without having to alter it?
With the regency Court gown, could you make a different skirt to go with it that is in line with the regency style? Then you'd have the court skirt for if you have the occasion for that, but you could still wear the absolutely gorgeous top part with a different skirt, maybe in similar material, just not so silly looking.
I love the ridiculouseness of th regency court dress.I hope.you get.some more wear out of.it after all the work but interested to see what you turn it.into too
Have you ever seen the movie somewhere in Time? Every time you say, Jane Seymour, I remember that movie so much and I was hoping someday you would find the movie fall in love with it and make us some clothes from it.
My daughter came out to me as a trans woman. Took her to her first Pride. Made her a trans flag colored patchwork totebag, and a trans flag based cat stuffie... made some more bags, and a hussif. Did a few alterations on clothes for her. Terrified for her in 2025, but she's so strong.
You always amaze me, how much you produce. Such beautiful costumes, that always reflect beautiful you. It's a difficult year for you, please take care of yourself in 2025. Yes make shorter videos and maybe less videos. Your health and mental health is so important. Take care this 2025.
Please don't overwork yourself! Shorter, smaller videos are fine! Happy new year!
I picked back up cross-stitching so did several Christmas themed ones that I gave to my coworkers which kept my hands busy.

Thanks!
It was such a treat to savor the details of that wonderful dress for 30 minutes. I find your sewing skills so inspiring. And your triumph over adversity uplifting. Take care of yourself and take time to focus on what gives you joy. We can wait. It will be worth it.
Thank you!
I hope the next year treats you better. Take time for yourself. I'll be around no matter how long/short or infrequent your videos get.
So many beautiful costumes this year! I think Kirsten's meet outfit is my favorite, it looks just like the doll's outfit!

Aww thanks! I don't have any plans to quit, so no worries!
I love the accidental purple theme! 💜💜💜 This year definitely had it's ups and downs, please take care of yourself 💜
Fewer/shorter videos are far preferable to burnout. Let self-care be your guide on that front.

I think you should do what makes you happy and work on projects that you're excited to work on and don't worry about 'owing' anyone videos or whatever.
Take care of yourself Rebecca and happy new year 🎉🎉
(Ps. Maisie is precious)
I ❤ your gorgeous historical dresses and outfits!
Thank you for such wonderful content this year, and my deepest condolences for Dora and Lion. ❤
My sewing sadly dropped off for most of this year, however I did teach myself to knit and made a bunch of Outlander style shawls, gloves, arm warmers, and a cowl to go with all the 18th century costume pieces I've already made and I'm so pleased with how they all came out! And I'm in the middle of rearranging my house and setting up my proper sewing space in my bedroom, so I'm not cluttering my living room. lol
Happy New Year Rebecca!
Great review!! My favs...Kirsten, purple regency...oh, I love them all!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks!
Thank you! And two novels in a year sounds really impressive to me!
Your work is beautiful! I am so sorry for the loss of your friends.
Your home sounds beautiful! Congratulations!
I have a feeling that might need to be for fresh grease. At this point, the remnants of it have been there since July! 😢
Happy New Year🎉!
Hope you have a wonderful one filled with love, joy and happiness!
Sorry for your losses. Hugs
That rapunzel outfit one of my favorite
Everything you do is so inspiring. Thank you for your videos. Hope 2025 brings you joy
Thanks!
An idea for making new costumes is maybe picking a favorite piece of jewelry and build a dress design inspired by it. :)
Those all sound terrific!
Here’s to a less stressful 2025! I’m hoping to get back into sewing more since I spent a lot of time taking up cold process soap making in the last year, but there’s only so much scrubbing I can do.😂
Love the tiara!
I loved the reegency court dresses I hope.you.get a chance to use it again as it was so much work but I would also be interested to see what you turn it into when you are ready too
My favourite is that purple upcycling regency dress.
The biggest change of 2024 for me, was I moved down south over the summer. I still can't find half my stuff. 😭
As for sewing projects, my sister and I plan to make cloaks to wear with our ren faire outfits.
Happy New Year!
Loved everything you have made this year. Happy New Year and best wishes.
Thanks!
Happy new Year!!!
You look so beautiful in that regency ballgown!!! May 2025 bring you more of what your heart desires. 💗
Thanks!
Yes, future plans please
I was just wondering how you store all those beautiful dresses? Happy New Year!!
Happy birthday!
With the regency court gown, the bodice is relatively timeless. Could you gather the skirt in the back and wear it as a VERY bustled bustle gown without having to alter it?
Unfortunately it wouldn't fit right over other undergarments.
@@LadyRebeccaFashions darn
With the regency Court gown, could you make a different skirt to go with it that is in line with the regency style? Then you'd have the court skirt for if you have the occasion for that, but you could still wear the absolutely gorgeous top part with a different skirt, maybe in similar material, just not so silly looking.
Possibly, but the bodice is built to go over stays, so I'm not sure it would fit over regency undergarments.
Oxy clean ( I buy the spray carpet bottle). If that doesn’t work, borax. Make a paste and work it in.
Thanks, I'll try that.
Hello. From a mechanics wife Stanley Degreaser is tops. I find it on Amazon.
Thanks, I'll look for that.
I have seen it, but tbh, it wasn't my fav, so I doubt I will ever do any costumes from it.
Just be kind to yourself and don't overdo!
As long as it wasn't too hot, the Kirsten dress seems like it would be so comfortable; many costumes and cosplays are certainly not.
Dawn dishwashing soap take out grease stains.
I tried that. No luck for this dark black grease. 😢
@LadyRebeccaFashions sorry to hear that. I've had great luck using it to take black car grease out of clothes. Perhaps a Boraxo paste?
My daughter came out to me as a trans woman. Took her to her first Pride. Made her a trans flag colored patchwork totebag, and a trans flag based cat stuffie... made some more bags, and a hussif. Did a few alterations on clothes for her. Terrified for her in 2025, but she's so strong.
Aww, good for her! I'll keep her in my thoughts this year. Definitely scary times we live in.
She's lucky to have you for a mom! 💙💜💚💛
@aksez2u I am lucky to have her for a daughter.
I lost 4 fish and got 2 new ones called Rudolph and Comet
huuge hugs
Don't stop sewing. Maybe take a month off videos and other SM and just be Rebecca. You need it and you deserve it.
I uh...what did I accomplish...I left the house?
That's important too!
You always amaze me, how much you produce. Such beautiful costumes, that always reflect beautiful you. It's a difficult year for you, please take care of yourself in 2025. Yes make shorter videos and maybe less videos. Your health and mental health is so important. Take care this 2025.
