Not trying to be mean or anything...just think she’d benefit from improving her posture with some exercises or physiotherapy if it’s something that bothers her. I almost cried the moment I saw the first dress. It just hit me how far you have come and I'm soo proud of you Uyen. I think a combination of the 4th and 7th dress would look great. Bling bling on the bottom with a comfortable strap like in dress 7. The red Ao Dai was stunning with the first head piece; maybe you can get a veil that incorporates this design.

Hi Uyen, fellow Vietnamese bride here. You can buy a light dress to bring to Germany, then rent another one that you loved at 14:45 (or more than that one) for your Vietnamese wedding. No worries. And I told all my oversea friends to come home for a wedding prep trip, including photoshoot and dress/suit tailoring. Vietnam has such variety of suppliers/specializers that can meet your every needs, at EXTREMELY AFFORDABLE prices. I once help my friend' sister to get a dress/suit picking + photoshoot in studio done within a day. We discussed about it around 9:00pm on a coffee date, I encouraged her to get it done as she only had her wedding done in the US without any pre-wedding photoshoot. And the next morning we met w the assistant and the photoshoot was done in the afternoon. 😊 Im so glad you had the dresses done in Vietnam and also ao dai!!! I love your ao dai too. Girl, you'd better buy/make more ao dai when you come back home. ❤❤❤

It’s amazing what can happen when you let yourself stay open to as many different options as possible. My wedding dress journey started with me wanting a bridesmaid-style dress in a darker color so I could contrast my pale skin, dance up a storm, eschew tradition, and save some money. I passed a puffy, sky blue quinceňera dress in a shop multiple times and caught myself looking at it for longer and longer. We had given up after 4-5 dresses, but I turned to it and asked if we had time to try ONE more. Once it was on, I couldn’t stop grinning and spinning. I thought I had found the dress. I was convinced to try a bridal shop so I could distill down what I loved in that dress and try to find something perfect. I concocted plans of how I could customize it further, and went in with an open mind. It only took two dresses before I found THE ONE. My dress breaks so many of my original rules. It’s strapless, puffy, has a train, and has a “veil” (I was encouraged to try the dress with a wedding cape, and WOW). Neither my mother nor I cried, but I stood there feeling like a young woman who wasn’t just gorgeous, but was a BRIDE. I’m not a very cute/pretty person (which I’m extremely comfortable with, because I’m a lot of other good things), so this dress was clearly magic. Uyen, I feel what you feel in such a visceral way. I’m so delighted you shared this, and that the process has you feeling so positive.

Hmm to be honest as a woman with broad shoulders, I do think her shoulders are a bit broader than most people, as are mine. She should not worry about it too much though since there are so many styles of outfit to wear that make it less obvious. When she wears clothing that accentuates the shoulders it would definitely looks worse and not many people can wear clothing like that. We tend to not see how other people learn to work around those kind of things about their bodies
It looks ✨STUNNING ✨ on her without the covering! As someone with broad shoulders, sleeveless can absolutely work! It takes some extra effort to find the styles that work but it's amazing when it happens. But obviously whatever she's the most comfortable in will be the best option❤

A tailor in the Hoi An markets (NOT a fancy place) made two shirts for me that probably represent the best value for money of anything in my wardrobe - AND they were ready in 24 hours. Unbelievable. It's an absolute revelation to wear clothing that is made for your body.

From a pragmatic perspective, I understand that you don't want to spend too much on a dress that you will only wear once but maybe you can be like some of the western folks who keep their wedding dress for their children. I am also from Asia, born in mainland China and raised in Hong Kong. I'm currently shopping for wedding dresses myself. That's exactly what I want too: a Western white wedding dress and a Vietnamese bridal ao dai. However, the search has been very difficult. I wish there was a shop like that near me! I love how they're able to accommodate different sizes, how they had so many options and styles, and how they even had a separate ao dai section in the same store!! Going to a store like that would be a dream for me! I'm glad that store had everything you were looking for. The dresses look absolutely beautiful on you!
Vietnam is apparently THE place to get beautiful custom-made clothing for cheap. Like, if you happen to be there anyway, take time to find a tailor and get yourself an evening gown. That's what my sister did, anyway.

I almost cried the moment I saw the first dress. It just hit me how far you have come and I'm soo proud of you Uyen. I think a combination of the 4th and 7th dress would look great. Bling bling on the bottom with a comfortable strap like in dress 7. The red Ao Dai was stunning with the first head piece; maybe you can get a veil that incorporates this design.
I love the "I look beautiful" it's such a wonderful statement. And it shows that she has such comfort in herself.

Hi Uyen, fellow Vietnamese bride here. You can buy a light dress to bring to Germany, then rent another one that you loved at 14:45 (or more than that one) for your Vietnamese wedding. No worries.
And I told all my oversea friends to come home for a wedding prep trip, including photoshoot and dress/suit tailoring. Vietnam has such variety of suppliers/specializers that can meet your every needs, at EXTREMELY AFFORDABLE prices.
I once help my friend' sister to get a dress/suit picking + photoshoot in studio done within a day. We discussed about it around 9:00pm on a coffee date, I encouraged her to get it done as she only had her wedding done in the US without any pre-wedding photoshoot. And the next morning we met w the assistant and the photoshoot was done in the afternoon. 😊

It’s amazing what can happen when you let yourself stay open to as many different options as possible.
My wedding dress journey started with me wanting a bridesmaid-style dress in a darker color so I could contrast my pale skin, dance up a storm, eschew tradition, and save some money.
I passed a puffy, sky blue quinceňera dress in a shop multiple times and caught myself looking at it for longer and longer. We had given up after 4-5 dresses, but I turned to it and asked if we had time to try ONE more. Once it was on, I couldn’t stop grinning and spinning. I thought I had found the dress.
I was convinced to try a bridal shop so I could distill down what I loved in that dress and try to find something perfect. I concocted plans of how I could customize it further, and went in with an open mind. It only took two dresses before I found THE ONE.
My dress breaks so many of my original rules. It’s strapless, puffy, has a train, and has a “veil” (I was encouraged to try the dress with a wedding cape, and WOW). Neither my mother nor I cried, but I stood there feeling like a young woman who wasn’t just gorgeous, but was a BRIDE. I’m not a very cute/pretty person (which I’m extremely comfortable with, because I’m a lot of other good things), so this dress was clearly magic.

Hmm to be honest as a woman with broad shoulders, I do think her shoulders are a bit broader than most people, as are mine.
She should not worry about it too much though since there are so many styles of outfit to wear that make it less obvious.
When she wears clothing that accentuates the shoulders it would definitely looks worse and not many people can wear clothing like that.
We tend to not see how other people learn to work around those kind of things about their bodies
It looks ✨STUNNING ✨ on her without the covering! As someone with broad shoulders, sleeveless can absolutely work! It takes some extra effort to find the styles that work but it's amazing when it happens. But obviously whatever she's the most comfortable in will be the best option❤

It really balances out the volume of the skirt. You have no need to hide your shoulders, but I'm glad they were able to give you straps that not only helped you feel more comfortable, they were a beautiful improvement to the dress!

I got married 6 months ago. I also started with - I want something simple, not too much volume and of course I ended up in a princess dress. You just never know unless you try it 😍 Also, my whole approach to style changed after picking up my wedding dress - I want to feel elegant like that every day, so in day-to-day fashion I started wearing more long dresses :D No more hiding my inner feminine goddess :D
As a 24-year-old, planning for the future and randomly asking myself where I would spend my savings on marriage, weddings, and the future, I thought I would not be spending a lot on my dress. Same! I keep saying I want an elegant simple no volume dress. Ended up with a princess style with a corset full of shiny stones. After the wedding we went to the city center with our friends to get some more drinks, I have pictures of me in my massive wedding dress walking the streets of Barcelona at 2 am with 20 very drunk friends looking for beers and bystanders congratulating us. It was crazy 🤣
@@Makkyddd in my experience even the humbler tailoring shops turn out simply amazing work. A tailor in the Hoi An markets (NOT a fancy place) made two shirts for me that probably represent the best value for money of anything in my wardrobe - AND they were ready in 24 hours. Unbelievable. It's an absolute revelation to wear clothing that is made for your body.

Congrats, Uyne. The veil of the first dress, it's just like a dream. From a pragmatic perspective, I understand that you don't want to spend too much on a dress that you will only wear once but maybe you can be like some of the western folks who keep their wedding dress for their children. I think it's important for you to feel like you are the protagonist at your wedding, it's still a personal choice though

I'm currently shopping for wedding dresses myself. That's exactly what I want too: a Western white wedding dress and a Vietnamese bridal ao dai. However, the search has been very difficult. I wish there was a shop like that near me! I love how they're able to accommodate different sizes, how they had so many options and styles, and how they even had a separate ao dai section in the same store!! Going to a store like that would be a dream for me! I'm glad that store had everything you were looking for. The dresses look absolutely beautiful on you!
Vietnam is apparently THE place to get beautiful custom-made clothing for cheap. Like, if you happen to be there anyway, take time to find a tailor and get yourself an evening gown. That's what my sister did, anyway.
