The White River's name-Makhízita wakpá, or “White Dirt River” in the Lakota language-derives from the white sediment it carries from erosion and weathering of rocks and soils upstream, especially limestone and volcanic ash from sources near South Dakota's Badlands.
@@StaticCamperVan, thank you! I don’t think it’s going to be awesome for awhile, but hopefully it will be awesome again someday! Anytime it’s rough, I’ll just watch your videos again! 😉
There's no doubt that Washington state is beautiful, primarily because it's Evergreen and gets the rainfall that it needs to keep it that way. However, as a person who has many interests in particular in topography and geology, I ALWAYS find it entertaining when the highest Peaks along the Cascade Range are called mountains, of which there are several at least six or seven that are truly the highest points along the range and are ALL volcanoes, not mountains! THE HIGHEST are Rainier, Shasta, Hood, Crater, Baker, Lassen, St. Helens...to name a few. There are over 50 volcanic peaks in that range.
The best sandwich from the MM is around thanksgiving…vegan…called oh be joyful or something festive like that….whole grain bread, dressing(stuffing if you ain’t from the south) ,arugula, cranberry sauce, cooked carrots….I’m not kidding this thang is delish!!
Hearing and/or looking at any body of water automatically puts me in a peaceful place. I drink my morning coffee, look out my window, and see the river. ❤❤❤
My favorite is ICED COFFEE. Unfortunately any coffee bothers my stomach these days. Bummer. Wow what an awesome camping spot. Little muddy but doable. Can you IMAGINE the strength of the river at the time those two gigantic logs washed down to lodge themselves right there? Unreal!!! Thanks so much for sharing THAT spot. Yowza.
I have a RAM PMC, too, with no rear windows. I put a stick-on, convex disk mirror in the corner of my side mirror, and it helps with those right hand blind spots.
It's been nice to watch the video whilst I make my way back from Waiheke Island in New Zealand on the car ferry, I enjoyed my cheese toasted sandwiches while you made dinner
Beautiful how do you keep your voice in peace.. damn my life is of wanted to scream most of the time.. your voice calm me.. its such a sweet voice of peace.. thank you.. plz stay safe this world is never safe..

🌲🏞🌿So much lovely beauty to behold in this video. The way the sunlight flickers and streams through the trees is magnificent. A pure joy and delight! 🌿🏞🌲
Aloha Scott - I saved this video for today (Saturday) so I could start my weekend feeling calm, relaxed & stress free. Great adventure with beautiful scenery. Thank you for taking us along with you.
When you describe the coffee, may I have a peek at the beans? It would add a dimension to the shared experience, especially because coffee is such an important part of your day. Just a fleeting glimpse like when you pour them into the grinder, maybe. After all, I bet it smells and tastes great, but I would settle for seeing them. In fact, were those expresso roast? I thought you liked a lighter roasted coffee. Thank you for the work you do to share with us, it's no small thing to put together.
Good suggestion, I’ll show the beans next time. It is an “espresso”. But in real coffee terms, that means the coffee will be especially suited to making espresso. It doesn’t have anything to do with the roast level. This is a light roast coffee. Associating espresso coffee with a dark roast is more of a North American thing.
I’m pretty sure most of us gets your jokes, that’s why, I for one enjoy watching your videos. Also every time I see you drinking coffee, I put your video on pause and go make a cup❣️ I just found out the very last promaster city was phased out in 2022. I did find out that the ford transit connects more capacity and a lower starting price, I’ll have so more research. Have a great day.
I always wanted to do The Wonderland Trail in Mt. Ranier park, maybe this will give me the incentive to get there this year. And I thought the White River had a white 'tinge' appearance to it, thus the name. Yeah, the dates at G.O. are half the price than anywhere else. Enjoy your stay and travel on !!
WOW, what a beautiful day!!!! I really enjoyed this video. Thank you. You're wise to walk a road before you drive it when you don't have 4WD or a winch and such.
Thanks for turning me on to another Washington state park - also dog friendly which helps me- so you’re making me inclined to go back to that foggy overcast state!
So happy to travel about with you through your Vlog… thank you for sharing all of these beautiful places and adventures with us…💜 i’ve added several of these amazing places to my bucket list… That thing just keeps growing lol
Such beautiful scenery! You must feel refreshed after seeing all of that (white) water and the trees and the mountain and being greeted by mosquitos. 😊
@StaticCamperVan I despise mosquitos. One year I chaperoned an outdoor evening party that my daughter was attending, I got 63 love bites from those critters. It was awful!!!
The White River in Washington state gets its name from the glacial "milk" in its stream. The source of the river is the Emmons Glacier on the northeast side of Mount Rainier. The river flows from ice caves at the toe of the glacier and its upper reach is contained within Mount Rainier National Park. The milky blue-white color of the river is a result of suspended rock particles that have been ground down from the peaks over millennia.
It's always wonderful to eat with a beautiful view. Beautiful adventure. Great food, love learning new ways to cook. Another wonderful travelog totally enjoyed hearing the rushing waters
Not sure if I have this wright Scott but another u tuber I follow was in Santa Cruze and I’m sure went to is it the cat and cloud have I got this right she loved it 😊 lol
Scott, Have not been to the Pacific Northwest. Its so restorative to visit a national forest. Your narrative about the National Park and also the Olympia area your familiar with is interesting. Even though you live simply you are in numerous ways a rich man. Keep living your best life. Do you ever go to farmers markets for locally grown products? Curious.
Ever thought about or done cold brew coffee for those hot summer days? Iced coffee is good too but I imagine it's harder to keep ice in the van for any length of time. In any case, loved the video. Thanks for continuing to share these places. :)
Hi Scott - I see you’re not dealing with the very dangerous air quality that we are in the Rust Belt from the Canadian wild fires. There’s a bunch of Weyerhaeuser land down near Mt Saint Helens. But I’m not sure about this area. Unfortunately, a lot of the dispersed camping areas are closed now due to past fires and current construction
I was in Walmart yesterday, and saw some Yellowbird. I decided to try it since you seem to love it so much. I also like that it doesn't require refrigeration so I can take it on campouts, etc. I got the Serrano type, and it is very tasty. I like the balance of flavor and spiciness. Sometimes these types of sauces go for "heat" over flavor, but Yellowbird has really hit a nice balance. I'll probably pick up some habanero flavor, next time.
Thanks for taking us along on your travels. Also love seeing your cooking creations on the road. Have you ever cooked a frozen pizza in the van using a pan or something else?
What a beautiful day in the forest. That's a great deal on the WA park pass, too. You probably know the annual CA pass with access to most parks in the state is $195! But you can now check out a CA parks pass for 2 weeks at the public library (at least in San Bernardino & Riverside counties)
I absolutely LOVE your videos. My only complaint is that they make me crave coffee and food 😅.. Cheers from Ontario Canada ❤
