This is a challenge I'm doing it's a ninjask and shedinga in ruby and I think you should do it too.
Love the videos! You should consider doing a plusle and minun run in one of the gen 3 games I think it would be an interesting challenge that I haven't really seen anywhere on youtube. Or an illumise and volbeat run would be interesting to. Now that I'm typing this I'm getting more and more ideas but like I'm rambling.

Ash is the worst. Ever since I became good at Pokemon, I found Ash's stupid decisions so infuriating that I can no longer watch the show until they replace the protagonist with somebody that knows what they're doing.
That and also it will always be a show meant for kids, so Ash will never make a move on any of his female companions, even if they make a move on him.

But is still a friggen Pikachu. Even when over leveled, Pikachu will die to one or two hits in kind. So if he doesn't kill whatever he hits, he's dead. Pikachu's defensive stats are God awful.

@@popbottles229 So what exactly are you complaining about? Pikachu is a Pokemon with a very limited movepool type-wise and it's a single Pokemon challenge. Of course overleveling is both needed to progress as well as inevitable. Unless you wanna do this yourself, without overleveling, and upload it for us to watch.

With the light ball bringing its base attack to 110 and volt tackle being 120 power its powerful glass cannon you could go special attack with that light ball boosting it to 100 but volt tackle is just an awesome move

Quick and easy challenge? You had to lv up to lv100 lol you needed to be twice the level of your opponents. That’s brutal.

Tbf, Pikachu's maximum offensive stats at level 75 are 173 and 165. Most fully evolved mons you happen to carry at that point in the game at that point are either equal or superior in power to it

Your ability to listen to criticism and not take it personally really shows in the exponential growth in quality in your videos. Your editing is a lot more focused and smooth, you don't dilly dally in your commentary, and you are always looking to please your viewers in whatever way you can. I am thoroughly impressed with your fast growth and I'm excited to see you take on Pokemon Crystal with just Chikorita ;)

Hidden Power in these games still varied in power. It's likely that it would've been uselessly weak even if it had been of a useful type.

I pretty much did that the first time I played pokemon as a 6 yr old haha
No because normal doesn't resist anything. The closest you have to that is Ghost moves but then you'd just be at a standstill, and I'm not sure if stalling with leech seed/toxic/protect/substitute counts.

Veggie Life using moves like soak or tar shot can get past that. They change the type of the enemy Pokémon.
You could have used grass knot against torterra. It deals neutral damage and is special.

Dude same. I nearly gave up on the whole game when I got to him. My shinx and chimchar couldn’t do anything to him.... I tried to spam defense curl on bidoof but he kept critting me. I think I ended up catching a machop and grinding.

i did that only problem is finding the good moves so its not that hard i think but its a problem to grind at start cuz smeargle outspeeds everything and you cant copy anything so you have to switch and take your first move else its something like struggle only battle

Defo need to look at your options a bit more - grass knot probably would've swept that Steel gym.
Not only are both Bastiodon and Steelix heavy enough for it to have 100+ power, but your max special would've been more useful there, plus it's not resisted like return is, AND they both have lower special defence than defence (stupidly so, in Steelix's case)
steel resists grass tho
@@brunocostaabel Yes but Steelix is also ground type, and Bastiodon is rock type, so the damage will at least be neutral.
Just like his Emerald Shedinja run, he took one attempt at the Steven fight and said it was "1 in a million" when he had access to confuse ray OR swagger, secret power flinch hacks, Fury Swipes holding King's Rock, protect, endure, swords dance, dig, focus band... know what the actual odds are of that fight? Over 12.5%. And he even had a shiny nincada to raise to get swords dance which he needed to bypass all the hax rolls on Pokémon 2-5.

To be fair, the Grass typing makes it into a neutral hit.
@@SuperMasterman64 Grass Knot has 120 base power against Torterra, and I guarantee it hits harder when factoring in it's natural defense + the Sp.A EVS.

Why didn't you just teach Pikachu grass knot earlier? You get it as second gym completion reward and it would slap quagsire with a 4x effective move, plus its good coverage
Most likely he needed the slots for Double Team and Dig. And since this is gen 4 as soon as he used the Grass Knot TM there would be no way to remove it or replace it without losing it forever.
