I wonder if MDB was aware that that the "perish song the metagross" strat was actually used in the Very first ever Nuzlocke? The original webcomic that created the challenge was a hoenn playthrough and he So nearly one and got stephen down to only metagross and perish songed it but it one shot each of his last 3 pokemon beating him just before perish song would have won him the run, which is how the first ever Nuzlocke ended in a Last minute failure.

I felt that.
I am very concern about this. A lot of people are going all into content making when financially it may fail. Advertisers are still mostly influence by old media and TH-cam is too afraid to loose them so they put strict, vague rules to please them. TH-cam is art and I always believed that making art should be about principle first with selling it being a low priority and always having a stable income somewhere else in case it fails. I never liked the idea about having a dream job since it gives unrealistic expectations. The reality is that you are more likely to be working at a job that you hate. Stick to making art in your personal time and never substitute it with a career. His " dream life" will hurt when it crashes due to things outside of his control . Best prepare for impact now. That is why I don't dream.

In case Jenny or anyone is still struggling to see how aegis actually meant it I believe they were aiming for " I came for a Pokemon challenge and now I'm crying". I just wanted to drop in to say that I find your voice and your videos really relaxing and soothing. I often struggle (no pun intended) to sleep with mental health issues, but listening to your playthroughs really calms me and helps me drift off.

You know, you beating that Metagross at the end reminded me of my playthough of Ultra Moon, where I, after getting stomped my Mega Mewtwo Y over and over, used my brain and hatched myself a destiny bond Mimikyu to tank the first hit, because Mimikyu, then Destiny Bond to take it out next turn. It worked and I felt so smart.

That’s how I beat the elite 4 and champion in several play throughs. It only has 5 PP and there’s the Elite 4 and the Champion. Battle and survive long enough for them to only have their last Pokémon out and have enough revives and you win it all.

"You guys saw me do the Wobbuffet challenge, you know that won't stop me!" AKA MDB's version of the "That sign can't stop me because I can't read!" meme. I just thought of that while watching this for the 80th time or something? Not even exaggerating, I used to fall asleep with this playlist on loop, did that for a few months before being so upset that I wouldn't be able to watch new challenges (since I basically trained myself to sleep due to MDB's relaxing voice) so I started listening to something else, and now, months later, I can listen/watch these while awake. Seriously, I had missed a bunch due to me falling asleep.
(also I usually started with the only in-game trade run in Red before falling asleep, the one before this in the playlist, since there wouldn't be breaks from Pokemon for a while with that one)
Anyway... I think people feeling comfortable enough to fall asleep listening to someone talk is a compliment, considering I don't like ASMR. I love Pokemon, and one of your Platinum challenges was how I discovered this channel. I've been a fan since!

I found you on recommend, thought your challenges were fun, so I started watching them at random, watching this video now makes me cry at the part when you said "my life is better than my dreams" please continue making these videos till you've used all possible Pokemon, don't stop even then. I love that you used Perish Song on Steven's Metagross, because that's actually the strategy Nuzlocke himself tried as a desparation tactic in his run of Ruby
31:41 He can't heal because he has to recharge from Hyper Beam that turn. That doesn't just prevent attacking, it prevents doing anything, and unlike Gen 1 the AI here don't cheat.
The Gen 3 AI ABSOLUTELY cheats. It just cheats by knowing things it couldn't possibly know rather than screwing the rules because it has green hair.
@@Kris2005isMine kaiba didn't cheat. He played 3 Blue-Eyes on 3 Seperate turns. Also, Duelist Kingdom had different rules than Battle City. Kazuki Takahashi wrote it to be a blend of DnD with MTG.

To be fair, Mud shot sounds like the type of ground attack that should be able to hit flying/levitating targets as an exception to the rule. Like, its a literal projectile so it even sounds like more of a rock attack but it's not quite solid enough to count.

The hardest challenge for me if I ever do this run, especially on emulator with turbo button, is stopping myself from entering Pokemon Center on reflex and healing my mons without realizing it.
It's always at least a little surprising how hard it can be to get over habit in a game when something changes the rules (whether in-game, or a voluntary challenge like this).

I for some reason also organize my moves on my Pokemon
STAB moves on top, coverage on bottom

Unknown 247 I do that too. It makes sense. Generally you use your STAB moves most often, so you want to make them (slightly) easier to get to. You generally use coverage moves only when they are the only available useful moves, so they don’t have to be as easy to get to, because they won’t be used as often.
