@@serdarcs3373 the limiter is the max rpm engine speed, it is at 23.308 rpm at 321kmh. I dont think you could push this motor to the rpm that is needed for a 400 kmh run..
@mynameisschezuan someone already did 217mph without the limiter. The Plaid is rpm limited to 20,000 rpm . The carbon wrapped motors can safely Rev to 23k rpm according to tesla engineers.
But as you said Tesla engineers said it safely run 23k and seems like it does, but max rpm before a catastrophic motor failure is probably 29-30k. A lot of G´s in that motor..
Tested the Plaid last week for the first time. I knew it was going to fast, but it still blew my mind with its performance. Truly insane performance for the money!

Car cost $110,000 dollars with track package. Goes 203MPH. Seats 5 people, 4 comfortably. Has one of the highest safety ratings and is better than all other brands on the market. Cost me $15 dollars to charge at the house if completely empty (it never comes close) oh and did I mention it drives itself for me and only gets better and better to the point I must say Tesla is on the cusp of achieving something special. Autonomy❤
This amount of grip of tires suits this car´s power potential very very much. How you could take those corners, that looked reassuring. Without the trackpack and proper tires, this car is not complete imho, it is not just a goodie on top.

Since the plaid is already successful as cutting edge EV performance , I don´t think Tesla is in a hurry to finally launch the Roadster 2.

They’re all heavily modified, and the cost of those cars all in is considerably more than the Plaid when you take into account man hours / Labour, parts, development, testing etc. They also won’t seat 4 adults comfortably with all their luggage, and you wouldn’t want to leave them anywhere lol

Sure. It's bonkers. Having driven a P85D and P100DL before, the launch was sort of as expected. But the 100-200 is just crazy. And almost unusable in practice. It was a wild experience, but you notice the extra money goes just to the motors / battery. The interior just does not feel as nice as my 2015 435i. The yoke sucks except on the Autobahn. All in all, if you've never driven a quick model S before then go for it. In my case, I'd rather have had the R8 Performance Spyder for the day, although a bit more expensive. V10's are nice at any speed, the Tesla is boring at every speed except full acceleration. YMMV. @@sebastianorye2702

Only thing I’ve seen come close, from the factory, is some 1600bhp, £3.5 million full carbon fibre Bugatti Chiron thing (can’t remember which model, there’s too many limited edition ones). You could charge this car back up for around £35 at the mo, compared to a hypercar fuel tank which would be about triple that.

I don't know how loud it really is when you sit in it but the sound of the tires gives you a good reference to your speed. Also the acceleration from the onramp to the 200 is insane. you look down, 60 kph, you look up, there is the Autobahn, you look down, 200 kph 🤯

Awesome vid ! Full power to the rear means that the front motors are powered off, meaning the rears provide their max power, which is nowhere close to 1020hp.
@@kianid5616 its about FWD or RWD settings. If you put it at RWD only then its the motors power only and not the full 1020 as is suggested in this vid. Is just physics. You cannot send more to the aft than the aft motors can deliver.
@@miguellopez3392 According to my info the Plaid has 3 identical motors of ca 400hp each, whereas the battery seems to be a bottleneck in terms of a max power delivery of ca.1020hp. This indicates that in the RWD mode, the rear motors will be running at full power (easily achievable by the battery) at ca. 800hp max.
The NEW Model 3 Performance might be something you’re interested in. Specs are still sketchy but somewhere around 650-800 hp, AWD and 380-400 miles of range, 8% more efficient, quieter, etc. Price will probably be in the 60-65K range which would be a steal.

i think that it will be sub 2 seconds easily but i doubt they are able to put plaid tech in it.

Your 328 is still faster and more fun to drive around a road circuit and can do a thousand more laps without overheating and running out of battery. Unlike the tesla your BMW is on the road 20 years later and is higher quality than a modern Bimmer. I would pick an e46 or e39 over a tesla any day forever. Best cars BMW ever made. This tesla gets absolutely destroyed on a drag strip by any small tire street car.

Awesome vid ! Full power to the rear means that the front motors are powered off, meaning the rears provide their max power, which is nowhere close to 1020hp.
All motors work, just in corners the front motors are off i think
When i do a straight pull with my m3p or myp in drift mode it use all of his motors
@@kianid5616 its about FWD or RWD settings. If you put it at RWD only then its the motors power only and not the full 1020 as is suggested in this vid. Is just physics. You cannot send more to the aft than the aft motors can deliver.
Each motor can provide 500HP each, the battery is limited to 750kw current to all motors.
@@miguellopez3392 According to my info the Plaid has 3 identical motors of ca 400hp each, whereas the battery seems to be a bottleneck in terms of a max power delivery of ca.1020hp. This indicates that in the RWD mode, the rear motors will be running at full power (easily achievable by the battery) at ca. 800hp max.

The NEW Model 3 Performance might be something you’re interested in. Specs are still sketchy but somewhere around 650-800 hp, AWD and 380-400 miles of range, 8% more efficient, quieter, etc. Price will probably be in the 60-65K range which would be a steal.

I mean, at least here in switzerland for my c63s I pay over 2000 bucks a year just for environmental taxes, which the plaid does not have cuz its electric. Not even mentionning the maintenance. Electric cars does not have any maintenance, the breaks last way longer with the regenerative breaking system. Plus the electric charging costs waaaaay less than gas. Or am I missing something ?
