Why NAIROBI to SUSWA SGR Train is now a game changer

  • The suswa SGR passenger train was officially launched by kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta on October 16th 2019.
    It is a continuation of the 485km line from Nairobi to Mombasa which was launched on 31st May 2017.
    The train runs from Nairobi Terminus in Syokimau to suswa through Ongata Rongai, Ngong and Mahi Mahiu .
    The train operates only 4 times a week.
    Wednesday, Friday, Saturday &Sunday.

      I agree,20 years from Today,Kenya will thank Uhuru's presidency,it was Overpriced infastructure but necessary,it will come to good use in opening up economic activities in this small towns.

    Most towns in Kenya grew because of the meter gauge railway and now this SGR will be a game changer for many small towns around it. Thanks for the great video.

    Hi Delphine. A terminus is the last station on the line where the train stops. If the train stops and then leaves a station it is not a terminus but a station. 😊

      @@dolphine254 Hi thank you for taking me along in this wonderful train trip. Yes, in between are stations. To the final terminus where train stop and can not go further. How many terminus are there in Kenya.

      Right... because it comes from the the word 'to terminate' i.e. to end, the last stop. Thanks for that reminder because I've also been using the word incorrectly 😅

    Well for tour operators this something interesting here can open offices in narok, pax from nairobi wishing to visit Mara can use this train connect from suswa with tour guides on the ground proceed to the Mara 🤔 my opinion

    Amazing and useful insight on that part of the SGR. I actually feel like taking a ride one day and perhaps sleep over the days. A viewer may have been interested to know the interval between arrival and return to Nairobi/Syokimau (what time did you leave Nairobi, reach Suswa, and then leave Suswa and arrive in Nairobi. did you connect again on the commuter train to the Central Station? Otherwise it was a captivating narrative. Kudos.

    End of a transportation line or travel route
    Terminus is only at the end of a journey, otherwise you have stations on the way. Otherwise a great vid.

    Safe driving means stay within speed limit. In future flying drones operate by the traffic police would offer them speeding tickets or perhaps by highway speed cameras. Tks for sharing. Nairobi is very nice and modern judging from your video.
