Excellent! I've been waiting for the Speed Champions reviews!! This looks like a must buy. I really hope they revisit the rally vehicles in the near future
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Jang. I built this last night and then watched the Electrikhana and Hoonitron videos. I think the wheelbase feels a bit long, and it would be interesting to see it with only six studs used between the wheel arch pieces. Overall a great representation of the Hoonitron in its original colour scheme. RIP Ken.
I don't know enough about the real life car to evaluate this version. But it does look well shaped as a Lego product. Speed Champion sticker sheets are always extreme and they use a lot of triangles on slanted surfaces. Good review and evaluation of price.
That new bracket makes a lot more sense in how it's used on the other Speed Champions sets this season. This design team is really doing incredible work
August wave looks really strong. This might be the most accessible theme that showcases what the Lego system is truly capable. To be honest I’m not even bother about the price increase, this has gone from an entry level play set theme to a genuine collector model kit line. Always felt we were getting away with something at $20, as tough as $27 might feel. Hoping it holds the line there for a while. A beautiful model Using interesting and sometimes mind blowing techniques with a driver minifigure is my favorite kind of set, it feels so right to how I enjoy Lego
Love this set! It's very nicely translated into bricks. BUT! What's really buggin' me is the hubcaps / wheel covers. Although lego is giving us some nice prints here, they are still keeping it cheap! Don't get me wrong, these 2x2 round tiles are printed very accurate and (at least mine) are even centered accurately, too. Still, they do look so very two dimensional. The originals are more like concave bowls instead of flat discs. The upcoming new Lambo will have printed 2x2 round tiles again, instead of real 3D ones! It all started with the Countach, if I'm not mistaken. That's a development I don't like.
I live in Colorado Springs so I broke out this set over the weekend in honor of the Pikes Peak Hill Climb. The Race to the Clouds is a cool event. If you love car culture it's an event you don't want to miss. A time attack from the base to the summit of Pikes Peak. Some of the crazy stuff includes the weather. It can be summer hot at the start and snowing or hailing at the top and anything else in between. Electric vehicles like the Quattro have dominated the climb with their quick acceleration/deceleration. It's kinda cool when LEGO not only brings the car but some of the lore with it. I think the box art lays it a little thick. It's Pikes Peak not Ko-koro.
NICE! And with hair piece in dark orange! But Lego, whats with 27 bucks? No. NO! My last Speed Champions set cost me 20 Euro in the Rome, Italy Certified Lego Store. 25 already priced me out. 27 feels goug-y.
This is one of the most enjoyable SC sets to build. The finished car looks great and the build is helped by a lot of larger pieces that are not always used in SC cars. I do like the review here, but my hot take is that people need to get over the whole sticker and sticker mismatch thing. Applying stickers is part of it and there are ways to make it less challenging (use tweezers to hold one end while applying) ....its part of the skill set, part of the building process.... when you step back and look at the finished model the colors come together just fine.
That 1x2 corner plate is going to get some heavy use, I foresee! I bet the next modular uses it for floor patterns. What a great set! Speed Champs always seems to come through with some amazing models. Agree about the stickers and lack of color matching. That should not be hard for TLG to get right. I've only got one of the 2024 Speed Champs set [F1], but am definitely looking forward to buying this, even at their ever-creeping-up prices. Excellent review as always - Thank you!
I think if they had shortened the front by only one stud-length it would have been pretty well perfect. I am looking at images of the Hoonitron right now and it actually looks pretty close.
can't wait for your review on the Dark Horse! from the outside it seems like the most boring, standard car but the build for that one was genuinely the most enjoyable and interesting build for any speed champ set ever imo. also the color is gorgeous
Question for other fans here. Should I get this, or the Ferrari 512M? I'm not really a car guy just a lego fan, but I've always liked Ferrari. I understand the build technique on this is average but I hear the Ferrari is fun. But I am really liking the style and look of this car. They're not much different in price. Which would you all choose, and which is a more engaging build process?
Not a Speed Champion set that I like, but I will buy it. The printed hood part goes straigt on my real Audi! With a figure. Time to bring back hood ornaments. Perhaps I need "Kragle"...
bought this set earlier this week, waiting for it to come in the mail. really love the way it looks. luckily the recent speed champions price hike hasnt affected all the online retailers yet, so i got it at a reasonable deal. not a fan of the new msrp
First observation before you even had said anything was that while beautiful, it has way to many prints/stickers (i assume some of them are stickers), like i do like it... but it just feels to cluttered. Its hard to explain.
Just started this one and so far I really like it! As far as the price jump is concerned I think we should be blaming Audi, Ford, BMW, Porsche etc.... the fees for licensing these names is crazy... and LEGO needs to pay. Nobody would buy a generic "Electric Rally Car" no matter how awesome the set is...
When you said the piece count I thought you was gonna end that sentence with "stickers". I'm so disappointed by lego and their sticker apocalypse. I really hope they find a cost effective way to cut them out entirely, I'm spending my money on lego not stickers.
That is a really interesting and nice looking car. Some interesting new parts and techniques there, like you mentioned. That $27 price isn't great, especially after they just went up to $25 not too long ago. At least this car is made and designed well, though.
For me, this is the greatest Lego SC set ever, the only set that doesn't look box like. My absolute favorite this is!. It looks so cool, perfect!. Honestly, i don't understand the hype behind that Mustang, to my eyes, its ugly, looks box like, it used very strange color pieces, not into it.
76921 has an uncharacteristically straightforward build for a speed champion set. It's probably fine for any other series, but any long time fan of speed champions would have much, MUCH higher expectations. For good or bad, mindblowing building techniques has become a core part of what makes speed champions so amazingly fun despite their small size, and I feel this one simply doesn't live up to its predecessors. Credit where it's due, I really liked how it has proper side mirrors -- most speed champion sets only make a minimal effort of representing them. Speed Champions sets used to be an absolute steal. Now it's kinda-sorta on par with the rest, though give how Lego in general has been creeping up in price, it's probably still on the cheaper side. Makes for a good display model, but a bit bland if you're used to being mindblown.
Unrelated to set but describing new pieces are getting harder and harder. It is like describing a math problem.
i'm kinda surprised it took them that long to make flat version of the 1x2 corner plate
I just wish they would have gotten the licenses to make this a Ken Block set...
Excellent! I've been waiting for the Speed Champions reviews!! This looks like a must buy. I really hope they revisit the rally vehicles in the near future
The new Mustang Dark Horse set is SO good!
I just opened my set last night. Imagine my surprise to find the pieces in paper bags rather than just plastic. Lego finally making that change.

I immediately had to try out the trick with the raised logo disappearing into the recesses of the ingot piece, great observation!
I don't know enough about the real life car to evaluate this version. But it does look well shaped as a Lego product. Speed Champion sticker sheets are always extreme and they use a lot of triangles on slanted surfaces.
Good review and evaluation of price.

If you were to build this car with black pieces (and maybe dark grey), I feel like it would make a decent-looking batmobile.
Wow! Speed Champions really is a great line of set consistently
wow, this is some incredible lego math. it fits so snug and well shaped

I always appreciate it when you call attention to new pieces. Thanks for the review
Love this set!

I'm really liking this car! Very nice details and those tires are wild! The color scheme is very attractive as well. Definite heater!🔥
I bought it, but yeesh, the price is almost on the point of I'm not sure if i can afford to keep collecting speed champions if it keeps going up

Love all the new parts included for speed-champions and mixels.
They've both been major assets to Lego MOC building :)
Really like the shaping and that color scheme is just awesome.
I’m glad they made a Ken Block inspired set. I hope to see more cars from this line
Oh wow! My gosh, that looks cool!
Also, glad to see Lego catch up to Mega with the new tile shapes! 😉
I really love this set! I wish someone would make stickers for a hoonitron version of this set.
looks so sleek and compact
That snowboard connection! Super interesting!
The new Mustang Dark Horse set is phenomenal

the reveal of that sticker sheet was crazy. i do understand lego not wanting to print 30+ printed pieces for a smaller set.
this set will keep a special place on my desk. just wish we had a more ken block or even lia looking minifig
waiting for the bmw sticker pack review, you'll be surprised just how many lego pieces they added to this set!
Wow! This time You really went off the mark, Jang!! You have enthralled! Mesmerized!🎉😊😊😊😊😊
I think if they had shortened the front by only one stud-length it would have been pretty well perfect. I am looking at images of the Hoonitron right now and it actually looks pretty close.

I will never get over how well designed lego speed champ cars are, even the Toyota Supra that looks nothing like the real car
I would like for them to do an WRX rally
I would be interested in it if it had a Ken Block figure.
Looks really cool!
I would love if we got some Gymkhana cars into this or even the General Lee.
Pretty solid looking if you are good with stickers.
Loving the Speedchampion line but those prices! 🤔🤔
Great video 😊
Looks amazing ouattro speed set great review jang 👍

i didn't put every sticker on, felt it was unnecessary for few places.
First observation before you even had said anything was that while beautiful, it has way to many prints/stickers (i assume some of them are stickers), like i do like it... but it just feels to cluttered. Its hard to explain.
Reminds me of Morbin set car for some reason
Just started this one and so far I really like it! Nobody would buy a generic "Electric Rally Car" no matter how awesome the set is...
It’s a major sticker-fest which I don’t do anymore, it’s tedious and boring
When you said the piece count I thought you was gonna end that sentence with "stickers". I'm so disappointed by lego and their sticker apocalypse. I really hope they find a cost effective way to cut them out entirely, I'm spending my money on lego not stickers.

Not a fan of the mixture of stickers and prints. I don't tend to put the stickers on so I'd rather all pieces be plain.
Should have come with a Ken Block fig
too small wheels as almost all Lego car set :(

Dope car and video. The mustang is my favourite atm, but I’ll be picking this one up!
Why print so many random pieces and then provide so many stickers for other random parts?
Too much stickers!
Overall design is OK
