Another way to think of color correction is to think of toning the hair...if you have too much yellow, you use a purple shampoo. Green neutralizes red, orange cancels out blues. Examine the color under your eyes and use the complimentary color to neutralize it. Then conceal after. Speaking of under the eyes, what do you recommend for getting rid of milia? I think someone said it had to be waited out. That it would go away once a good skin care was regularly used. Is that the case? I have very small ones, and I don't want them to get worse but rather to go away.
You all prolly dont give a shit but does any of you know of a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot the password. I appreciate any help you can offer me
@Nicolas Jax thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and Im in the hacking process now. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Note to self: Add iron supplement to daily vitamin and skincare routine. I've been diagnosed with anemia, but I'm just sooo bad at taking my iron. My midwife recommended a liquid supplement several years ago that I found at Whole Foods called Floradix. It's a little pricey, but wow, it was so good! I felt like a human again. (If anyone is interested in one with a good absorption rate. It's a liquid and needs refrigerated, just FYI. Store securely if you have little ones.) Great tips!
Outstanding as usual. This is an area that upsets a lot of us. I don’t sleep so I have almost black bags. It’s so ageing. I am grateful for such a comprehensive review. You’re the Best 😍
You should have your own TV show! You are so full of tips and wisdom! I have forgotten to do color correcting of late, and it makes a big difference. I especially notice the darkness in photographs.

I just found your channel. Think I'm in love😉 I am 45 and just had my 1st microneedling w/prp few days ago. Only wish I'd of started sooner but luckily the good Lord has blessed me so far. I'm dealing w/loss (noticable loss) of collagen around the mouth area. I'm going to follow through w/the professional treatments for now but researching maintenance for the future right here at home. All your info greatly appreciated and fascinating. Thank you for sharing.....
Great video! I tend to run anemic. It seems to have cleared up since I started making my breakfast and some other meals in a cast-iron skillet. So much easier than popping a pill.
A key factor for any cream or makeup, for me, is how easily it creeps into my eye area and the slightest iota runs into my eye. The irritation of my eyeball, depending on the product, can be anything from mild stinging to stabbing pains. After years of having this issue, I finally realized what Setting Powder was for! I'm still careful to keep a margin around my eye free of any product but the setting powder helps stop any movement towards my eye. I would think other people have this problem, too, but I never see any mention of it. If possible, could this be addressed in future trials and reviews? Thank you for all your great videos, they are so educational. I wish I had found you before I moved out of Oregon!

I use 0.1% or 0.05 % tretinoin ( whichever i have) around my eyes. The skin felt a bit delicate and iritated only in the first 2-3 months till my skin adapted to it. Now it is fine.
Thank you so much for the great video. Ordered my cream already. Now if I could just figure out my serums and moisturizers, I'd be ok. Have a great day and good luck with the house.
Great info to look into. Thank you. People who suffer from sleep apnea (including untreated tongue ties) can definitely keep dark circles around forever.
Another great video Penny. Thanks. Had never thought of the different colours of under eye darkness and now realise mine is hyperpigmentation. No wonder the colour correctors didn't work!
Love this video Penny! My birthday is today and MAC gave me a gift so I went to pick it up yesterday and picked up the MAC Studio Fix Conceal and Correct Palette in Light yesterday for those days I really need a lift.
Great video and information! My eyes are definitely an area of concern. Loved all the tips ! Thank you 🙏 and I did know the difference between a corrector and a concealer! Lol! Even though I am old-64 😊♥️😂Penn what I LOVE about you is how prepared you are for each topic you are covering and the pace in which you speak- and explain everything in such great detail. ♥️♥️♥️💄💄💄💋💋💋😘😘😘
What’s a good brow tint to use? I have blond highlighted hair with white roots that I’m wanting to grow out now. My skin tone is fair with pink undertones so I’m guessing an ash tone would be best. What brand do you recommend? I want them dark enough so I don’t look washed out yet not too dark that it looks too harsh. Thanks Penny. I appreciate your channel. 💜
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE Thank you. I did check out the Just for Men beard dye, they seem a little too dark. Is there a brand for brows that you like & use?
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE Yes, I use Sandy Blond. I have natural dishwater blond hair and my brows were getting some grays (but very few grays on head). Ten minutes and wash it off in the shower. Such great advice, thank you! I wholeheartedly agree with the eyebrow shaping and dying. It makes such a big difference in the brightness and openness of the eye area. Does microcurrent work on forehead "11s" as well as droopy lids?
It doesn’t really work on 11’s in my opinion....that muscle is used so much that it’s the repetitive motion causing that wrinkling. Stopping the motion helps ease the wrinkling (Botox essentially). 💜
Hi a Penny! Great video, definitely I’m going to get a corrector. You know, very soon I’ll get my under eye filler dissolved. Could you post a video on how taking care of our skin after that kind of treatment, please? I know that at some point I’ll have to get a PRP or something like that but I would love to first try some skin care routine before getting any other treatments. Please, it would help many people.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 your skin looks amazing, I would love to know what worked for you. Btw you look so beautiful with and without any makeup too!
Can you do a video on how to treat hollowness under the eyes? I've noticed my under eye area becoming more and more hollow as I've gotten older; I don't think it's dark circles but maybe bone or collagen loss? Filler is an absolute last resort for me as I'm worried about the risks. I just tried a PDO thread treatment in my under eye area last week, just wondering what else I can do if I don't get the results I'm after :) Thank you! I love your channel
I have been thinking about this as well have been thinking tear trough treatment. Like you though I am afraid of fillers especially in that area. I use a lot of hylauronic acid and charlotte tilbury eye cream helps under makeup the most.
You can get a thick stiff filler like Voluma for your upper cheeks, often that also fixes problems with mild hollowness under the eyes without the associated risks. If your hollows are pretty severe then only tear trough filler will work. If you choose to get the tear trough filled I recommend having a plastic surgeon do it in order to minimize the risks, they’re experts in facial anatomy. It’s more expensive but much safer.
This was incredibly helpful... and 'eye opening'!! LOL I'm wondering if you can recommend anything to help stop the eyelids from turning red or purplish. Obviously with makeup that can be covered up but on days I'm home all day & don't want to put makeup on, I still want to look presentable in the event someone knocks on the door! You're probably still too young to have this but most women I know around my age have this & we all complain about it. Any pointers??
Technically brown is neutral. If you can determine the undertone of the brown you can lighten/brighten it best. Some dark browns are purple based (so a yellow based corrector would be best) some are red based (so a slightly green based concealer could help- but only a hint of green in my opinion). So If you can determine that undertone you can pick the right concealer/corrector 💙
I drink it before I eat any food. An hour before, so it travels through your liver before any food. I also don't eat at night after 7-8pm. No high salty junk food for sure. It's Amazing how your skin has a glow if you take care of your internal organs with healthy foods. ❤️
I really do like the drmtlgy eye cream. It’s not vitamin K but it’s very good. The sanitas eye cream is very specific- to me it’s only for bruising/under eye circles. The drmtlgy is more of an all round anti aging eye cream. I hope that helps ❤️
Is the isnttree TW-Real eye Cream a good choice for an eyes cream? BTW, It’s $14.9- on yesstyle now. Also, If I remember correctly you were looking for silk pillowcases for King pillows. Look at the mulberry silk pillowcases at Blissy. Love your videos ! They give me hope!
Amazing tutorial, thank you! I have a pinkish corrector that works for a green vein near the outer corner of my under eye, but looks wrong for the rest of the area which is purple. So I got a lighter yellowish concealer for the purple part and that works well. Then I bring my blush up over the green vein instead of using multiple correctors, and that suffices, at least at my current age lol
You always have the best information! I have a question about Derma Rolling, I watched one of your videos on this because I have never done it. You said not to use Vit C for a couples days after doing it, how do you get your Vit C in your routine if you Derma Roll even twice a week. Or should you do it only once a week? I am confused! Thank you!
Hello I have a question. Do you know the DMAE component? Can you tell about it? I have an eye serum with this ingredient but I just read that it is toxic to the skin.
Hi Penny, do you still use the Nira? I’ve had great results with it, I think it’s removing my acne scarring on my chin and helping with my marionette lines. I keep thinking is it my imagination but I really think l I’m seeing an improvement
I fall into the "hyperpigmentation" category and have started using Yeouth Retinol Eye Cream. Do you have any experience with it? Seems to have useful ingredients.
Hi penny I love you and Jennifer Joyce. What is the micro current machine featured in this video? Is it stronger than myolift 600? I’m a licensed cosmetologist and may be able to purchase something like that.
Hi Penny, Have you heard of Musley? What do you think of Hydroquinone? I don't think I've seen a video of you recommending it? Seems like some ppl get good results? Or is it a bad idea? Thank you for helping us!💖
Hey Beautiful! Are you needle your under eye area? Because it looks like you could go just closer to your eye. The best dark undereye corrector serum is from Christian Breton Paris. Give it a try. Send love. ❤️😘
In office I did needle under the eye for clients. I don’t demo it on TH-cam bc I take a pretty conservative approach since there are so many people with different skill levels. I am looking up that serum right now! Thank you! 💜
I do use some eye creams :-) My favorites have been: 1. Sukoyaka Suhada urea moisture eye cream 2. Drmtlgy eye cream 3. Balea eye cream (German brand that u really like). I just don’t like when a company gives people .5 oz and charge a fortune just because they slap “eye cream” on the tube. I am completely open to eye creams-especially ones that are *formulated well* with retinol/retinoids or even glycolic acid for under eye pigmentation or elasticity. A high end eye cream I’ve been testing that I like very much is by NeoGenesis. I’m not against eye cream, just the idea of overpriced face cream packaged for your eye area 💜
Thank you it was interesting, you advised for hyperpigmentation an eye cream that contains arbutin, Kojic Acid, niacinamide, vitamin c cream. what would you say about Advanced Skin Brightening Kojic Acid, MAP Vitamin C, Alpha Arbutin, Vitamin B3 Niacinamide and Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum ?
Hey, Penny! I want to purchase the Dr. Pickart VIP 3% GHK, but I've never used GHK before. Should I start with the lowest percentage? I am a veteran of skincare at 45 y/o with dry, dehydrated skin and not sensitive-skinned although I do have rosacea.
Yes you have to start low, they have the strengths indicated on all the product pages. I use Dr. Pickart’s Skin Signals cream, and I absolutely adore it.
I'm currently using a mixture of Korean skincare, and Vitamin A isn't used in K Beauty. Are there any skincare ingredients (or ingredient combinations) that will produce retinol-like results?
Something I saw in an article: epidermal growth factor (EGF), vitamin A-rich oils (such as rosehip and bakuchiol), and AHAs and BHAs. Also, ole henriksen glow cycle retin-alt power serum, herbivore bakuchiol retinol alternative smoothing serum, countertime tripeptide radiance serum, the ordinary resveratrol + ferulic acid, and the inkey list bakuchiol.
Yes - I take a supplement that decreases excessive bleeding during menstruation and it only has vitamin K1 in it. They specifically recommend taking K1 when you’re diagnosed with a vitamin K deficiency (I was dealing with that a few years ago)
Nira in that case. But it is only good for under the eyes and the lips (they don’t advertise it for anything but the eye area) and I’ve heard people say they got a good result on specific spots. It’s very tiny, so if you want to treat more areas I would pick another device. If your eye area is your biggest concern then Nira is a good choice :) It’s subtle though and also people complain that it’s painful. I tolerate it fine but it definitely is zippy. 💜
Hey Penny. If I'm remembering correctly, I think a couple of other TH-camrs (I don't remember if they were also estheticians or not) said not to use a retinoid while using microcurrent and to stop using it a week before you start microcurrent. Is that correct or is it ok to use both? Honestly, I would like to do both. I haven't yet start my myolift treatments. What is your advice on this?
I don’t discontinue my retinoid while using microcurrent (or else I’d have to choose one or the other) but I do skip it immediately before and after I do a microcurrent session (I just wait a while to do my skincare). 💜
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE awesome! Thanks. So, should I just skip using my retinoid on days I use the myolift, or rather use my myolift in the am and my retinoid in the pm?
@Mona I just space them out but I personally do both on the same day. Just watch for irritation (always 😊). Vitamin A penetrates significantly so I’d say the main thing is to not apply a retinoid then do a microcurrent treatment right after. But I can’t imagine someone doing that anyway 💜 And totally with you @Jane 😊
Oh, and speaking of under the eyes, what do you recommend for getting rid of milia? I have very small ones, and I don't want them to get worse but rather go away.
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE thank you so much Penny. This is a huge help. I'm still new to all of this, but you, your videos and a few others I've watched have helped all this to be a little less intimidating. 💖
I’m not Penny (wish I was, b/c she’s brilliant & amazing in so many ways), but I am a PA that practices Internal Medicine, & I’d like to address your question, until Penny responds back to you. IMPORTANT..... No one with a pacemaker should use any type of micro-current! Also, no one who’s had an irregular heartbeat, should use any type of micro-current, until they have been thoroughly evaluated by a cardiologist! Hugs to you!😊
You can use apricot and yellow color correction. Best thing to do is look at the color wheel and find your color circle (closest to it) and look directly across from that. THAT color will be your ideal corrector shade. Less is more with correctors-we just want a tiny bit to neutralize the “bruise” then conceal 💜
I have uneven skin under one if my eyes. Like milia but not white inside and only one eye. I tried all sorts of creams including the ones having light glycolic acid or retinol but nothing working so far.. so sad:(
I hate my hooded eyes! I have fairly long lashes but they are hidden beneath that hideous flap of fat? & flattened! I wonder if that eyelash perm or whatever it's called, would help?
@@MascaratoMidnight I've used Retin-A since 1996 & it does nothing for the fatty deposit in my lower brow. Probably the only thing that would make it go away is an eye lift & that's too expensive for me. But thanks!
@@CowGirlKat8691 it's a roll of fat? I'm curious so I understand if that's too nosey. I have hooded eyes and thought you were talking about that. But I also have fat brows. I havent seen/heard anyone talking about that.
Another way to think of color correction is to think of toning the hair...if you have too much yellow, you use a purple shampoo. Green neutralizes red, orange cancels out blues.
Examine the color under your eyes and use the complimentary color to neutralize it. Then conceal after.
Google “color wheel” if you need more help finding complimentary colors

If you choose to get the tear trough filled I recommend having a plastic surgeon do it in order to minimize the risks, they’re experts in facial anatomy. It’s more expensive but much safer.
I am going to tint my eyebrow,s, great idea. THANKS
Timely and interesting.
What do you think is good for tinting your eyebrow? I really enjoy your videos
Thank you very much, Penn 🥰
I was waiting to see how you do the makeup of your eye 🙂 as they look beautiful😂 maybe in another video ☺️
Omg .. i wish you could be my esthetician!!
What's best color to neutralize dark brown hyperpigmentation?
Technically brown is neutral. If you can determine the undertone of the brown you can lighten/brighten it best.
Some dark browns are purple based (so a yellow based corrector would be best) some are red based (so a slightly green based concealer could help- but only a hint of green in my opinion).
So If you can determine that undertone you can pick the right concealer/corrector 💙
Thank you Penny, great advice as usual, I never had dark circles when I was younger, they are making up for it now, lol
Same here!!!
I drink it before I eat any food. An hour before, so it travels through your liver before any food. I also don't eat at night after 7-8pm. No high salty junk food for sure. It's Amazing how your skin has a glow if you take care of your internal organs with healthy foods. ❤️
Great loved this I’m in need of a new corrector, will definitely try the it cosmetics one xx
Hi, Penny! I ordered the age reversal eye cream from Dermatology upon your recommendation. So you feel this eye cream is really different??
I really do like the drmtlgy eye cream. It’s not vitamin K but it’s very good.
The sanitas eye cream is very specific- to me it’s only for bruising/under eye circles.
The drmtlgy is more of an all round anti aging eye cream.
I hope that helps ❤️
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE Thank you so very much and for replying so quickly! Penny, this means so much to a person, when you do so!!❤️
Wow! Wonderful tips, thanks so much! Regarding the micro current, could it be used for nasolabial folds as well??
Is the isnttree TW-Real eye Cream a good choice for an eyes cream? BTW, It’s $14.9- on yesstyle now.
Also, If I remember correctly you were looking for silk pillowcases for King pillows. Look at the mulberry silk pillowcases at Blissy.
Love your videos ! They give me hope!
I love love that eye cream!!
I also love the corresponding serum.
Isntree is just a great line 😊💜
Amazing tutorial, thank you! I have a pinkish corrector that works for a green vein near the outer corner of my under eye, but looks wrong for the rest of the area which is purple. So I got a lighter yellowish concealer for the purple part and that works well. Then I bring my blush up over the green vein instead of using multiple correctors, and that suffices, at least at my current age lol
I love this!!!
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE Thanks!!!! We already open so many tubes and bottles in the morning, I love trying to find ways to do double duty :)
Great tips ! Thank you
I'll do anything you say to lol. Your skin looks amazing. 😍
You are too kind!!
Can you do a video on tinting brows.... thanks
i use retin a on my eyelids and below the eyes, it works amazing.
If you can tolerate that that is excellent! 😃💜
Me too, I used to need an upper bleph for my hoods now I don’t need one anymore thanks to 2 years of retin-a on my hoods.
She has a video where she talked about DMAE and she also has a blog post on her website. Maybe those can help?
@@db-gb5xiI am very grateful to you, thank you, I am looking for :))
Hi Penny, do you still use the Nira? I’ve had great results with it, I think it’s removing my acne scarring on my chin and helping with my marionette lines. I keep thinking is it my imagination but I really think l I’m seeing an improvement
Do I have to stop tretinoin to do microneedeling , radiofrecuencia and IPL? For how long in advance ?
I have sunken eyes. Would nira help with that? thank you
Penny do you recommend Drmtly brand? The needless serum? Also what about the peptide night cream?
I fall into the "hyperpigmentation" category and have started using Yeouth Retinol Eye Cream. Do you have any experience with it? Seems to have useful ingredients.
I have this in my wish list, what's your experience with it (:?
I’m going to look it up!
Hi penny
I love you and Jennifer Joyce.
Thank you for helping us!💖
Do you mean musely?
b yes
What color concealer do you use in the Giorgio Armani power fabric concealer? I am the same coloring as you and it would love to try it! Thank you😉
5.25 😊💙
Hi Penn! Kris just across the river from you North. Do you recommend NewAge NR8 moisturizer? Thanks much!
Thank you! 💜
Could NuFace and dermarolling help lift hooded lids?
Please explain why you don’t recommend or use eye creams?
I do use some eye creams :-)
My favorites have been:
1. Sukoyaka Suhada urea moisture eye cream
2. Drmtlgy eye cream
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE TY🙏
Do you have any diy recipes for firming upper lids?
Thank you it was interesting, you advised for hyperpigmentation an eye cream that contains arbutin, Kojic Acid, niacinamide, vitamin c cream. what would you say about Advanced Skin Brightening Kojic Acid, MAP Vitamin C, Alpha Arbutin, Vitamin B3 Niacinamide and Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum ?
I love MAP C for pigment!!
Sounds like an amazing serum
I never had hyperpigmentation until I was pregnant with my twins and after. I became severely anemic.
@@ALT-vz3jn thanks!
Have you used the dermawand at all or know anything about it? I can't tell if it's legit or not
I'm currently using a mixture of Korean skincare, and Vitamin A isn't used in K Beauty.
All vitamin K is not the same. Vitamin K1 is involved in blood coagulation. Read up on Vitamin K2 MK7 and it’s role in Ca distribution in bone.
I have read up on vitamin K.
I take a liquid D3&MK-7
Thanks.
Yes - I take a supplement that decreases excessive bleeding during menstruation and it only has vitamin K1 in it. They specifically recommend taking K1 when you’re diagnosed with a vitamin K deficiency (I was dealing with that a few years ago)
Hello!! There are couple devices for under eyes area, Wish one is better Nira or Myolif Mini? Thanks
Nira in that case. But it is only good for under the eyes and the lips (they don’t advertise it for anything but the eye area) and I’ve heard people say they got a good result on specific spots. It’s very tiny, so if you want to treat more areas I would pick another device. If your eye area is your biggest concern then Nira is a good choice :)
It’s subtle though and also people complain that it’s painful. I tolerate it fine but it definitely is zippy. 💜
Yessssss
I use correctors
What rods are you using at the beginning of this video?
That brow line micro current machine where I can I get that one or a really good one?
Make up tutorial- PLEASE
But I can’t imagine someone doing that anyway 💜
And totally with you @Jane 😊
Oh, and speaking of under the eyes, what do you recommend for getting rid of milia? I have very small ones, and I don't want them to get worse but rather go away.
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE thank you so much Penny. This is a huge help. I'm still new to all of this, but you, your videos and a few others I've watched have helped all this to be a little less intimidating. 💖
Do you recommend a certain brand of brow tint?
I used root touch up. Worked great.
That's great! 🔝🔝🔝
Hi. What color Armani concealer do you use?
5.25 💜
Can you use this microcurrent if you have a pacemaker?
I’m not Penny (wish I was, b/c she’s brilliant & amazing in so many ways), but I am a PA that practices Internal Medicine, & I’d like to address your question, until Penny responds back to you. IMPORTANT..... No one with a pacemaker should use any type of micro-current! Also, no one who’s had an irregular heartbeat, should use any type of micro-current, until they have been thoroughly evaluated by a cardiologist! Hugs to you!😊
@@brookspa94 😞🙁
No. It says so in the instructions.
Which color do you use from the IT color corrector ? They
have 3 colors to chose from
I have it in medium 😊💜
What product do you use to color your brows???
She said Just for Men (for the beard)
Thank you Sunshine 😊
@@sunshinefl6586 cool!! My husband uses that but he gets darkest brown..wouldn't work for me.. ;)
They discontinue the corrector what other character would you recommend
NYX has a great color corrector in a little pot (I am medium) and it cosmetics makes one called “bye bye undereye” corrector ❤️
Me: tint 📝 eyebrows 📝
Also me: naturally black eyebrows
It cosmetics corrector is repackaged and sort of renamed but not sure about the formulation does any one know that it’s reformulated also or not?
Any suggestions for the vitamin c in Canada? Levonlabs doesn't ship here?
Hmmm. I will look for you!
TIMELESS on Amazon.com ships quickly to Canada & the price with exchange is reasonable including delivery.
Penn, my circles are more reddish purple. What do is do?
You can use apricot and yellow color correction. Best thing to do is look at the color wheel and find your color circle (closest to it) and look directly across from that. THAT color will be your ideal corrector shade.
Less is more with correctors-we just want a tiny bit to neutralize the “bruise” then conceal 💜
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE Wow, thanks so much for the detailed response!
I have uneven skin under one if my eyes. Like milia but not white inside and only one eye. I tried all sorts of creams including the ones having light glycolic acid or retinol but nothing working so far.. so sad:(
The Deep Forest Mask by Kypris helps a lot of people with that. Expensive, but lasts a long time and smells so amazing.
Koya Moon I definitely did not try this product. Will search and hopefully find in Europe. Thanks for the suggestion!
Make sure to cleanse the area throughly and gently before using the creams. Makes a big difference!
You might also try finding an eye cream with Niacinamide. For improving skin texture. :)
Could be syringomas. If you could see a derm you could find out and get treatment recommendations 💜💜
I hate my hooded eyes! I have fairly long lashes but they are hidden beneath that hideous flap of fat? & flattened! I wonder if that eyelash perm or whatever it's called, would help?
Are you already using RetinA? What about adding in Latisse? It's been shown to help with hooded brows.
