My father raised my brother and I without our mom. He got lucky and was blessed when fighting for us in the courts when my mother filed divorce. She filed because she was unhappy with it. Her allegations towards my dad were crazy and his friends were there to back him up. He was the more mature person with the resources, and showed his love with action. He kept tons of records to use in court for proof too: the judge gave us to him, but my dad had to give up a lot to my mom.
She's still to this day an absolute child, and doesn't realize how bad she screwed up my family. That includes me and my brother's upbringing. She's the primordial, the precursor to a majority of women in this post-modern culture/age.

It is misleading to say that some of our best brothers are in prison. Most of our men in prison have mental issues that need to be treated and managed in constructive ways if they will ever be high functioning in society. Many of our children are born of parents who are incapable of good parenting and that's what needs to be addressed. The math on this just does not work out for the better.
Over 50% are in for one crime. They were not living a criminal lifestyle before that one incident.

Shahrazad Ali was/is not an advocate of beating on women. She even stated that once a man beats on a women that is the lowest of a low for a man. What she was saying is that the blackwoman verbal abuse to the black man is just as harmful as physical abuse. And when this happens he should lightly slap the blackwoman on the cheek (paraphrasing here).The exaggeration of this notion was used by the mainstream to debunk her book. How can some of the best men be in prison? They committed a crime to be in there, correct? Yes, there may be some in prison who were falsely accused, but this is an absolute minority in the big picture. The vast majority of men in prison are guilty as charged, how could they be some of the best men?

Marva was an educator who inspired many students; she was also well-known and loved. I saw the movie years ago, and this lady, Shaharazad Ali, is her daughter.

Very well said. I really think religion has been another tool to keep us in bondage . We aren't taught skills like critical thinking, logic, history and rational thinking. Things that would help us make decisions that would benefit our community. Back when my husband and I were together, He had gotten laid off. We were young with a family and started struggling.
A Wwoman was in our neighborhood, and she was taking surveys. She told me that if my husband and I weren't together, they could help with food and rent.
That was back then. Things have changed. Men on the dole is on the rise. I doubt that many women traded in their men for food stamps, unless he was just plain shiftless.
That hasn't been the case since the 60s and even when it was it was on like that for like 2 or 3 years. No one is keeping these mennout of the home. There are literally families on assistance as we speak.

Many of our brothers, who are incarcerated, would not allow some of the stuff to go down that’s going down without a fight. A lot of our brothers out here are weak and are allowing everybody to run over us from the politicians, the government, Minister’s, our women, and even our children.
Many of our brothers, who have lost their freedom would stand up against many of the things happening in society that we do not agree with. And that is what she is talking about.
