    Great video. I developed a synovial cyst in L4 facet joint, had surgically removed. I still have the arthritis but exercise and weight training helps a lot.

    I'm still not sure if my problem is facet related... if I do bending forward exercises OR bending backwards, I will get a bad back spasm the next day. MRI shows mild arthritis of facets and a very mild disc protrusion.

      It can be hard to tell. Often isometric back exercises are a good place to start. Check out this video for some good options.

    With me , I have a pain in the equana Area , When I stand or move around it becomes Extremely painful . The more I move around the more Intense the pain and the Longer it takes for the Pain to subside. I have had x-rays/MRI/CT scans which do show I do have some facet joint damage ... But I can't get a reasonable Diagnoses or what to exactly tell my Docs ...

      Back pain can be frustrating and complex. In certain cases it becomes more about prognosis, than diagnosis. In the sense of focusing on what helps and trying to look forward and focus on things that help, rather than backwards trying to understand the specific origin of pain

    What about for golfers?
    Right now, I have a sore back big time, seven days, from hitting a golf ball slightly different way. I’m trying to alter my swing.
    Does any of this relate to what happened to me?

    • @PerformanceSportSpine
      @PerformanceSportSpine  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      If you tried hitting a golf ball differently for 7 straight days, this is a simple case of an overuse injury. Let is calm down, then start again and make sure to rest 1 day between hitting, to let your back recovery/adapt. The golf swing can defnitely irriate the facet joints

    sir, this was amazingly explained. thank you so much. God bless you 🤩. I was doing Aerial yoga & I was pushed to do an extended back bending where now I have facets issue in last few bones of spine. yoga stopped since then its been 2 weeks now. I need your advise, lying down relives the pain, standing increases the pain but sitting for office work more than 1hour makes the pain worse. is bed rest suggested if yes for how long and can we do walking if yes how much time are we allowed simple slow walking per day. does vitamin & calcium supplements help in this case ? will i ever be able to start Yoga again?

    • @PerformanceSportSpine
      @PerformanceSportSpine  22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Best rest is not helpful, the best advice is do the stretches and exercise at a dosage your body can handle with gradual progression. Supplements for this are a waste of money as for if you can ever get back to yoga, we can't answer that

      @PerformanceSportSpine thank you very much for quick response. are heat pad Or cold pad advisable? Does pain relief gel n pain killers tablets support in healing or they are temporary. Once exactly following all stretches n sleeping position guided in video how long does it take to recover.

    Many of those movements are similar to the motions of cycling. Is riding a bicycle helpful for strengthening and stretching those muscles?

      Yes, absolutely. We actually meant to put that in the video and somehow wasn't. Great connection!

    I've had low back pain for many years but it got bad enough to go to a doctor about 2 years ago. I've been diagnosed with several things but generally spinal stenosis and facet joint issues. I had RFA last year but I can't say it helped much. I still find it hard to stand or walk for extended periods. I thought I possibly also had SI pain on my left side due to my desk job but I've also been told that can be originating elsewhere. That's the pain that sent me to the doctor. Can that also be facet-related? PT had me bending backwards and that was painful so now I concentrate on bending forward. It's been a real journey trying to pinpoint the exact issue and how to fix it.

      Sorry to hear you have been dealing with this for so long. Yes it could, there is some crossover between the conditions. Both of which, don't like extension. Hope this video helps, here is another video on lumbar stenosis we made.

      Thanks, yes these videos are helpful in understanding all this. It seemed originally as I Googled "back pain" everything revolved around "sciatica." It has taken a long time for the algorithms to start showing me more helpful things.
