I inspected the CCT when i stripped the bike andit seemed fine, My problem was a burnt out exhaust valve.....Which showed up on a compression test. Then further diagnosed with a leak down test. Even though the bikes running great now i still have a whining noise coming from the CCT area so i may replace that including the cam chain just incase the chain has stretched at all.
Have you had the CCT (Cam Chain Tensioner) checked for the ticking/tapping sound? My 954rr also has that hissing type sound, no issues though.
