My dad passed away from cancer earlier this year, and I inherited this exact Traeger grill from him. Unfortunately, it sat outside and didn't get used much for the last couple of years of his life while he was sidelined from chemo, so it's pretty beat up. Excited to get it fixed up and smoke some ribs in his honor. This video is very helpful!
Looks like there was a lot of sawdust in the pellet hopper this can contribute to a burn back issue . Try and clean out the pellet hopper occasionally to reduce the sawdust build up. Let me know if you need any replacement parts. I can help you bring that old Traeger back alive.
Great video! I like that you are thorough, showing every step along the way. My Traeger is starting to rust, and I want it to last, so I need to do a little revamping. One question: What tool did you use to sand off the rust? Is it okay to just use sandpaper? I assume that it will take longer and a lot more elbow grease, but just wondering if that's a good option. Thanks again for the video series.
I guess im randomly asking but does any of you know of a way to log back into an instagram account? I was dumb forgot the login password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me.
@Luca Jensen I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.

Sorry to hear about your dad. Let me know if you have questions.
You can replace the metal pail with the grease box and complete the rebuild!

Thanks for watching, be sure to hit subscribe and the bell. I appreciate you!!
I tell everyone to hand scoop your pellets to minimize sawdust.
Agreed I also found out not to fill the hopper all the way I make it slant to the feeder or it can start smoking on long cooks. Thanks for watching.
I hate a dirty drain hole!
Hahaha
