Tbh we need the old landfall lines back, in my opinion the circles feel a bit odd. Other than that, this was a good animation!

First of all this animation looks bad in comparison to other animations of the same channel or the same animator.
2016 V1 had tracklines, and a ACE Bar, this V2 only have the new icons, the landfall markers and timeline clock that dont fit with the animation, even the font of the names, it looks like a big downgrade in comparison to the V1, and the only thing that fits ok are the music and the icon transitions with hue shift.
If the animation had water, the ACE bar, tracklines, the old markers of this year, the old timeline of this year, the font being in Exo Semibold as always and transitions as slide for names the systems.
2016 NATL gets a solid 3/10.
i would add this animation as the worst of 2023.

I remember when people freaked out when they saw Matthew's skull. Even today its so unsettling.
What makes it more horrific is the skull was visible on sattelite right before it struck Haiti.

I've noticed there are some comments relating to Matthew not being a C5 in this animation. I'll try to explain that:
In Matthew's TCR, the NHC regarded it as a C5 due to the SFMRs at 145kts or 165mph. At the time the report was written, the NHC said that the measurements are reliable, despite the lower FL winds from Matthew, which stands at around 140-145kts, which rounds down to 130-135kts or 150-155mph. However, since then, the NHC implied that Matthew's data was suspicious after storms like Irma, Jose, Michael, and Dorian. Iota's TCR was when the NHC found that Matthew's data is considered unreliable. Iota, which WAS a C5 operationally, was downgraded when its TCR came out. Iota and Matthew's FL winds and SFMRs are coincidentally similar to each other, which hopefully explains why F13 does not have Matthew as a C5 anymore, albeit unofficially.
However, even with Matthew's downgrade (and subsequent retirement), it does not take away how devastating, infamous, and deadly Matthew was throughout its life. On a side note, Matthew was a weak but deadly TS back in 2010 in Central America, but was not retired and thus, was used again for this season.

@@asm2708 TCR upgraded it to 145 knots (165 mph). I think 130 knots (150 mph) will be the actual peak when they get back to it.

Very unexpectedly coincidental indeed! Though, Alex was first used when Andrew got retired after 1992. However, Alex could have been retired in 2010 due to how destructive and deadly it was, but it didn't.

Matthew hit the Cuba, Nicole hits Bermuda, and Otto hits Costa Rica, But Matthew and Otto were the only retired storms and replaced by Martin and Owen in 2022

The 2016 ATL hurricane season, the first of 6 above-average seasons in the basin. It had quite a few records: a January hurricane, the first since 1938; 2 pre-season storms, the first since 2012; OFFICIALLY the first C5 since Felix in 2007; and a C3 November hurricane striking Nicaragua.
The most notable storm though has got to be Matthew. Killing over 500 and making various strong landfalls (not to mention that creepy skull-like appearance right before landfall in Haiti), this storm surely has been devastating. The effects are still being felt today.
There was also Otto, a costly and damaging storm in Nicaragua, which became the first November major hurricane since Paloma in 2008. It also was the first ATL-EPAC crossover since Cesar-Douglas in 1996. This season, like every season was interesting in its own way.
2016 would go on to initiate yet another round of above average activity, until 2022 would break that above-average record... 2016 is also the second consecutive season to feature at least one retired name and had a second round of devastation after 2015, an inactive but destructive season... As of 2023, the endless rounds of devastation in the ATL is finally over, although with the WMO meeting in Q2 2024, there may not be any retirees after the 2023 season...

I remember in V1, they noted the "Subtropical Storm", Stephanie, in the Bay of Biscay. Does F13 no longer believe Stephanie was (sub)tropical?
I don't know, but maybe they did have a look back and changed their minds nowadays. I mean, if a F13 CAT were to see this, can they confirm that they no longer has it as a subtropical storm? Well, probably not, but I'd like to know!

it looks perfect the new landfalls are nice and with no tracklines that is ok i can memorize it the timeline clock looks cool and nice i love the transition slide that are used for the names it is great and nice without the ace bar that is ok you can add it when you make an animation i really wish i can animate well i give this a comfy 10/10

I think F13 regards Matthew as a C4 because of the recon data from Matthew. As a TLDR: Matthew's recon data was found to be reliable at the time the NHC's TCR came out years ago. However, when Irma, Jose, Iota, and other TCRs for other storms have found that the recon data was suspicious for those storms, they also found that Matthew's data is suspicious too. This is especially true with Iota, which had similar FL winds and SFMRs to Matthew which resulted in its downgrade.
As far as I know, Hurricane Otto is the only hurricane that has made landfall in Costa Rica
Actually Only a Tropical Storm in 1887 and Bonnie of 22 ever made landfall in Costa Rica. otto was Just very very southern Nicaragua

I'm sorry, but I fail to see Matthew as a C5 nowadays due to how suspicious the recon data is for that storm. Sure, it was confirmed to be reliable at the time its TCR is published, but Iota's TCR, along with Michael, Irma, Jose, and Dorian really doesn't support Matthew's C5 status, especially with the SFMR data inconsistencies. Although, I'll still let your opinion stand, I don't expect you (or anyone) to agree with me at all.

Doesn't have any big supporting evidence for 165 mph at all. The analysis on Iota (regarding SFMR) proves that Matthew is highly overestimated
Yeah, and blending the recon data from the FL winds and the SFMRs together only support 155mph at the absolute highest. Unless if there's missing data like observations (buoys, ground observations, etc.) I am not giving Matthew a C5 at all.
165mph is kind of overly aggresive, most agree with Matthew being 155-160mph

Hopefully you'll get to know how to do some more advanced stuff for future animations! Yeah ik, there are new animators in F13 but Ima give em the benefit of the doubt, don't get pressured to learn about how to do more advanced features other animators have done
@@notmrpopular0099 i was on a time crunch when i did this so i never had time to do ace bar and tracklines. i tried implementing an ace bar but i realized on how the video is formatted and made. it’s not possible

I think you just answered your question yourself. Happy music has no place as the soundtrack to deadly hurricanes the same way you wouldn't blast eurodance music over Holocaust documentaries.
