Thank you very much, that was very nice of you!! We are planning another trip very soon to the salvage yard, will be going together of course and see what they have. Heather and I just did a video together today it will be the new one out this Friday thank you for taking the time to leave a wonderful comment.
I was in an air-cooled VW Club in the '80s and we would take the parts off of that solid tube pre 68 type one steering column and put them on a late model collapsible one.
Knee deep in poison ivy and snakes on the edge of a cliff. That's some dedicated parts grabbing! And the salvage yard is the second happiest place, the garden/pond is first. Excellent camera work Heather and Slade made good use of the BFH. I'd like to watch how you get the dash out.
@@SladesVWBeetle thank you very much. I’ve been looking for one for awhile. I need the entire assembly to include the pressure hose and cap along with mounting hardware.
Slade, why not grab those two 67s as parts cars for the one you are building? Seems like there are lots of parts that might come in handy. At least this way you save chunks of those cars given they are going to the crusher anyway.
The dashboard in blue bug, looks good for the 67. I would cut the front clip off the parts car. The easiest way is to cut in 4 spots. Heater channels and posts by the windshield.
We went back and got the dash from the blue bug, I still have to edit the video. I probably should’ve talk more of the dash. But I just got a little over what I really need. I would like to have both of them parts cars but I don’t have the space unfortunately.
Dear Saldes I will not be able today to catch the LIVE broadcast unfortunately due to huge time difference between USA and Germany , it would be 3.00 am in the morning , so, if you dont mind i will put some questions to you on your LIVE video and i will be very thankful if you reply me. warm regards from Germany to you and your blessed family.
hey there folks, how far south are you//? to find a beetle in one piece haha almost impossible to find any up here on the east coast of canadian rust belt, any good ones they want tens of thousands dollars for them
Your so lucky to have not only one….but two…parts cars. Incidentally my 67 wasn’t much better than the one your taking parts from. Ha ha ha. Here, things don’t rust…..so there are zero parts cars. Especially for a 67. They have all been restored, or crushed.
Yes I do feel very lucky those cars are there right now. I’m trying to grab everything that I can. Thank you so much for being here I truly appreciate it.
Going to the salvage yard with a lovely lady!! LIFE IS GOOD!!!
Thank you very much, that was very nice of you!!

The State should give Slades for restorations. 😊🤑

Hi! I love giving a hand!
Nice Tour !

@Slades VW Beetle, I loved that fun intro! Good fun! Great camera work, and helping Heather! Good times!
Thank you Mark! I keep my videos plain and simple, and sometimes we try to have fun. Although Heather catches me off guard a lot lol
You've got her right where she wants you
😂😂😂
Great video Mr Slade. Always a good day when you can score parts for your project.

Great Tutorial as always!!
Thank you very much I truly appreciate that.
Great video
Thank you my friend!
We miss such places here in Germany , I mean places where oldtimer junkyard.
We really don’t have many here, especially in the part of the country I live. I sure miss when we had a lot of them many years ago.
Nice work team Slade! The heat makes it tough!
Thank you very much! As I get older the heat is much tougher to deal with.
Glad you got it out. Snakes be damned!
Thank you my friend!
You should grab the chrome and maybe that rear bumper off that 67 too
I have to talk to him and see what else I can takeoff of the vehicle.
What did Heather drag home.😂😂😂 thanks for the video see ya on the next one.
LOL Just parts today!
😂😂
nice job.
Thank you Jim!
Get the sawzall and get that dash👍
I have to put the video up, we went back and got it.
Good work on removing that column. I've had some that would absolutely not budge due to rust.
Thanks very much!
Thanks for having me help out! I so enjoy the salvage yard!
The last line I’ve never heard my wife say. Hahahaha
@@robertlambert5299 Awww, some of us just love this old stuff! 😊

Thank you Williams, and thank you so much my friend for always being here. I didn’t noticed the poison ivy until I was watching the film 🤦🏼♂️
I would modify the 67 column with the 68 collapse part. Just my opinion. The 68 is a safer column.
Oddly enough I was thinking that. For safety reasons of course. Since I already have it.
Rilton isn't boring. We'll watch the drive
After watching your video I need to go take a nap.
😂😂😂
I’m in need of a windshield washer reservoir and I like the one in that red car.
I may have one for a 67 if you would like me to look.
@@SladesVWBeetle yes please do. As long as it’s the same as on a 72 standard beetle.
@@JamesDavis-jo9tk I’ll check and see what I have, I know I have two or three different ones at the garage.

I really wish I could Jeff, unfortunately I don’t have much space at my house. I’m going to keep saying what I can grab off of them.
I talk to ghosts like Heather talks to snakes. “Are you in here? If so, we need you to leave.” ;)
😂 Right!

She's the best
10:35 So, Slades does it impromptu repairs, too!
I hope that wasn’t poison ivy growing up through that car.
I thought the same thing.
I didn’t catch anything, thankfully. And I’m highly allergic to poison ivy. 🥺
Well there ya go. Channel got better already beginning with Heather! Lol
lol Thanks!

God bless you my friend, and thank you for leaving a comment. I wish you could make it to one of the chats.
Can you remove the column sleeve without pulling the whole steering column?
I just want to remove sleeve to repaint
