I don't mean to be rude but this is a pretty poor review. I've been using this mod for awhile now and you seem unaware of things that are described on the actual mod page. Specifically the fragility of the minions. You can equip them with literally anything, and they will use it. You can give them fully enchanted gear and weapons and everything. The only downside is that skeletons wont visibly wear the gear if the base game doesn't have a mesh for that armor on the skeleton. The stats still carry over as if they are wearing it tho, and if using thralls based on normal npc's this isn't an issue at all. You also didn't cover the benefits and mechanics of promoting or demoting undead units. All in all this video can give people a peek at the mod, but is downright misleading in basic aspects spelled out on the mod page.
These are fair criticisms Grigori. You're not rude, just honest. I didn't read the mod page in its entirety. I skimmed it to get the basics, then I dived head first into the mod and experienced it in a uninformed kind of way to also be able to gauge how intuitive it is. Consider it a brief look and an opinion rather than a detailed review I suppose. Thank you for the information though.
@@chebgonaz I suppose that's a fair approach. To gauge its intuitive aspect I mean. That isn't the impression I got while watching however, and had I not already been familiar with the mod I might have been turned off of it based on this video, or found it lacking when in reality these issues are addressed within the mod and its page. This is one of the best necromancy experiences out there, and I just feel this video didn't do the mod justice.
@@grigori3506 After what you've said, I did some additional testing and you're right: I think part of why the undead seemed so fragile to me is that I never "marked" any of them, so none of them were regenerating any health. This would explain why I saw powerful minions like keepers die in a few hits to relatively weak enemies. They were already weakened. I can see now I have been unfair to the mod in this respect. I'm not sure why that freshly made subjugated spirit died to one blast from the elf mage though. What I can do better in the future is be sure to emphasize more clearly that it's a brief look rather than a full, detailed review (if my video doesn't cover all aspects of a mod). I tried to explain this at the end, explaining that I only went up to around level 50 Necromancy and also mentioned that I didn't cover every aspect/feature of the mod, but I didn't express this well enough I think. Also for a mod this large, I should really read everything and make sure I know the details well. This is common sense, but... I suppose I was in a rush.
@@highskies1262 Thanks, there's not enough humility in the world so I've gotta do my part. Only thing left is to address my mistake. I suppose a follow up video is the best way. I'll figure something out

Cheb, you ever played Tactics Ogre? Theres necromancy involved there, though its an older game so its hard to find useful info on it. You can resuurrect your troops when they die as zombies and can recruit skeletons and ghosts to your army. Making your troops zombies stops their ability to level up and alter their classes, but it means when they are "killed" in battle, they'll reanimate themselves 3 turns later at no cost. Skeletons and ghosts can still change classes IIRC and gain experience. You can even become a lich which lets you cast any spell in the game except "light" spells I think, but liches are strangely not undead so they wont self-res ironically. But you can easily make an ar,y of skeleton soldiers/archers backed up by ghost and/or zombified necromancers and even have on dude be a lich to lead them into battle. Its a satisfying necromancy experience.
Wow, 1995 and PS1. Sounds great, never played it before. It'd be difficult for me to investigate, being a PS1 game and all. I know there's emulators and stuff so it's not impossible. Thanks for the info.
What I really like about this mod is that I can use a really weak reanimate undead spell and the corpses do not turn to ash after I prepare them with equipment and such. So I find this mod pretty convenient.

Why does no one remake or copy the Corpse Preparation mod? Its one of the best Necro mod. All we want is permanent no dissapearing after death Skeletons/Zombies to guard our lair. (yeah and some cool Necro themed lairs mods would be cool too)
I often wonder the same thing. All it needs is to produce stronger minions for a bit cheaper and it'd be an insanely good mod. No one has done a necromancy lair for Skyrim unfortunately. I have a video on it. It is very good. I wish something like it existed for Skyrim.
