You might wanna experiment a little with the painting modes instead of painting it all on mix. There's a significantly easier way to do all this, lol. Nice tutorial either way. What I mean is, for example, instead of painting a thick white line on the edges and then erase it using all the colors you can use lighten and it will adjust to the colors there and maybe use thinner and softer brush. Would save you a lot of time.
yeah this might be better, but I never actually used it tho. I like using blender, and got used to just using its texture painting, and it works and gives me good results anyways

honestly tho I always draw/paint without those lighten, overlay, mutiply stuff even outside of blender
