I wanted to watch this just to see the Faces play with Keith Richards, but was blown away at how good it actually was. Rod Stewart is a great soul and blues singer, and Ron Wood plays with so much feeling. Happily in 2021 all three are still playing to audiences.
Not bad. Rod has a soulful voice, that's for sure. They are connecting with something deep. I am not sure Rod needed to twirl the mike stand around like a baton...the song stands on its own merit for being great. The shtick almost detracts but since it's Rod, he can get away with it. Keith looks the part, Ronnie looks a little affected with his grimacing but plays some soulfully awesome notes.
Just saw Rod in Cincy on July 12 2022...at 73 still puts on one hell of a show and despite a cold, he still can rock the crowd or give goosebumps. He can literally sing anything and make it sound great!!!

I’m 71 also and remember when I was 16 at a Yardbirds concert just after they broke up and Page formed Led Zep, Jeff Beck came out and said, “I’d like to introduce our new lead singer, MR. Rod Stewart”! History, it was a $2.50 concert(1968)
I thank God every day that he gave me my life (1951) and I was a young one in that most important and joyful time when the great musicans made their song and we could listen , dance and love with. Keep healthy all of you and stay cool.

My wife and I were talking about what we would like played at our funerals. We have been to a few lately that were so down and maudlin. She will have Motown and Sly. Mine may have some of that, but definitely SRV and Little Feat. But Rod and some Faces are definitely in the mix. This is amazing.

The Faces were just the greatest band ever to me. This is proof of how friggin great Rod Stewart was....dude could sing and this band could just rip. Seen some bar footage that was unbelievably raw and rockin.
Much better performer than most give him credit for. I saw him back in the early nineties at a smaller venue with Tina Turner and was very pleasantly surprised and impressed with just how great of performers both them actually were.
When you come across gems like this, a really tight band, great guitar playing, vocals with emotion and you realise that it was all done live over 40 years ago........it simply confirms that so much of today's music is absolute and utter shite and would never have even got a look in when there were great musicians who can really play. I'm so glad that I was born in the greatest era for music

This was Rod Stewart at his best. His singing is raw and powerful. The last time I saw him, in person was about ten or eleven years ago at a small venue in Pennsylvania He sounded great singing his hits, but I wish he had performed this song.
Keith was watching Ronnie n thinking "damn I gotta get him in my band someday".. Really fun to watch Keith play from the heart and not just walk around hitting the strings once and a while.. He's earned it but he's a lazy player now..

Actually Keith wrote the music and played most of the guitar on most Stones hits. But the Stones wanted Ronnie and I think Keith was there to see if it worked. Please do not get me wrong, Mick Taylor made so many great years with the Stones.

I grew up with 3 elder siblings & was exposed to loads of different stuff . But the ones that gave me youthful goosebumps were The Stones & The Faces . When Rod Stewart sounds this good I forgive him some ' wardrobe ' disasters ! Ronnie Wood too . Fantastic band !
Ron Wood is a very underrated guitarist if I'm putting in my 2 shillings on the matter. Which I am! Also Small Faces and later Faces were incredible musicians.

I saw them at Eagles Auditorium in Seattle back in 1969 for $3.00. My favorite song they played was Handbags and Gladrags! MASSIVE CHILLS! I saw so many great bands at Eagles and all the shows cost pennies! Music at its best then!

Well, it IS probably slightly harder to stand out with Keith playing next to you. However I believe Ronnie is doing great with the Stones and he was doing great with the Faces. I am still very happy he joined my favourite band.
I agree and I'm happy for that too and he has had a fantastic career, without the stones ge might have been forgotten too, happens to many great musicians you never know what happens. Sure that guitar weawing that goes so well with Keith may have made some people to not think that much of him than if he had played in another band but still I don't think he would be where he is without Rolling Stones. I think too that he's a big part of that Rolling Stones can still keep on performing, I think Keith is extremely happy to have him there as he loves to play and perform.
Next year will mark HALF A CENTURY SINCE THIS MASTERPIECE WAS RECORDED…we need to all be thankful we are still alive to hear it played like it was just yesterday.

Ron Wood's solo is simply exquisite. Lyrical and delicate. I love how there is not the prolonged sustain of today. But after perfect phrasing the sustain fades into air and becomes silent. If there were ever a perfect solo... This is it

My dad died of lung cancer the year before this video was made age 41 (I was 7) so be thankful you had him at least for so long.

I just turned 18 when this came out. 2 years later I saw him in concert, the rest is history!

Well, it IS probably slightly harder to stand out with Keith playing next to you. However I believe Ronnie is doing great with the Stones and he was doing great with the Faces. I am still very happy he joined my favourite band.

I agree and I'm happy for that too and he has had a fantastic career, without the stones ge might have been forgotten too, happens to many great musicians you never know what happens.
Sure that guitar weawing that goes so well with Keith may have made some people to not think that much of him than if he had played in another band but still I don't think he would be where he is without Rolling Stones. I think too that he's a big part of that Rolling Stones can still keep on performing, I think Keith is extremely happy to have him there as he loves to play and perform.
Next year will mark HALF A CENTURY SINCE THIS MASTERPIECE WAS RECORDED…we need to all be thankful we are still alive to hear it played like it was just yesterday.

The Small Faces were the best, I went to one of there concerts they were amazing
I saw the Faces a few times in the early '70s...never saw so many people with smiles on faces after a concert...they gave everybody a real good time!
