Saw them open for Northlane this year and they blew me away. I had been looking forward to this album since then and it did not disappoint. They are just a fun band.
Tabula Rasa has the chorus of the year for me tie with Paralyze by MMF. So far my album of the year is between Windwakers and Nothing more. This album is mental.

i havent listened to windwaker that much yet but break the rules is THE BEST summer song this year for me. definitely need to check out this album asap.

I find this to be much better than love language overall. But I am curious though, why did Liam leave the band previously? I'm happy he's back but I'm wondering what made him leave and Will having to take over for love language
He came on before they released New Infinity, stayed until after Empire came out, then he left to focus on his other band, Reside, but was asked to audition and returned after Will left.
@@REMHTC I heard some songs from Reside and wow they definitely sound different from Windwaker. Personally it's a bit soft for me but when I'm in the mood for more melodic music I'll listen to it again.

I completed threw this band out with their last album. I found it too poppy, with all songs blending together. But this really blew me away! The first tracks had me and the album has a fantastic flow, blending metal, pop, electronics, and synths. A crazy album, in a surprising fun way.
I feel like they've pulled some influences from Bad Omens production wise while at the same time almost sounding what a future Bad Omens and similar bands could sound like. I don't know how else to put it. It's amazing and just so much fun to listen to from front to back. AOTY contender for me.
Loved ALL the singles when they come out, like the best metalcore band I've heard in so long. Then the rap styles songs on the second half threw me a bit at first, but I'm not addicted to Venom. It's also so good that Tabula feels redunant, and the Juliet is a really weak ender. 7.5/10
Update: On second listen, knowing whats coming, the album is alot better, like a decent 7 or 8. Tabula Rasa has been on repeat though Honestly outside of the singles and Tabula, found the album disappointing.
It's like a nu-metalcore meets post hardcore adventure. Like a cross between Casino Madrid, Sky Eats Airplane, House Vs Hurricane, My Heart To Fear, Shreddy Krueger, Tasters, Banks Arcade, Inertia, Hourhouse, and Diamond Construct but totally different 😆😅 AOTY so far.
I think it's a very fun, high energy album and sounds great BUT I personally can't get behind the singers clean voice. I don't know what it is when he hits some of his highs, but they don't sound terrific to me. No hate whatsoever, just seeing if anyone shares the same opinion. His screams and his "lower/slower" voice is good, just can't get behind his "highs"
They're describing themselves as "hyperpop-metal" now (at least according to their Spotify bio) which I find to be an interesting yet accurate way of describing their shift in style / influences and I definitely feel like will help ground them as a unique band in the scene. They're finally starting to blow up more and they deserve it so much, especially watching their vlogs where it's clear these are some really genuine, fun, talented dudes who are having fun. Awesome band, awesome guys. Thanks for the great album review!
Funny how they market this as Hyperpop-metal while not having any elements of hyperpop in the album, especially if the band compares themselves to Charlie xcx and BMTH (latest album only). There's also nothing weird about this album? It's actually what you'd expect of the current scene with how people are bringing in drum'n'bass, breakcore, and edm. Do I think this band does it well? Hell no, this is one of my least favorite albums of the year and Liam should be banned from rapping. Each their own I guess.
I was really disappointed with this album. They released all the best songs as singles. I liked all the the singles and listen to them regularly, but the rest of the album was super mid to me.
dunno man, I think Infinity, Vertigo, Hypnotised and Tabula Rasa are fucking awesome. and not counting the interludes/transmissions Haunting Me and Juliet that's basically all the rest of the album.
i'm gonna go against the grain here and say that this is probably my least favorite album of the year. i didn't think i'd like it because it's not really my thing anyways but i was floored by how bad it was. lame song writing with corny rap verses and boring melodies, forced heaviness. just a mess all around.
I couldn't make it through this album. Might try returning to it another time, but the switch ups didn't seem to fit together, and the vocals really didn't work for me. It somehow managed to feel chaotic yet generic at the same time?

@@dreero_ don't get hung up on genres - it's a mix of many and they blend them really well. the production is honestly fire. but like Bogdan said it's not for everyone and some will hate it. myself I think it's a banger of a record, not just the singles.

Listening to it in it's entirety I can understand it feeling too all over the place. I find the best way to enjoy the album is to listen to the songs out of order. Randomly pick a different track based on your mood instead of going in tracklist order.

They crushed the pop/rap/metal mix. Arguably the best mix of edm & metal since I see stars "New Demons"
I saw them live on album release day. So good. And they were so nice chatting at merch after too. I hope they come back to the US soon.

Not everyone digs rap, which I can understand. Rest of it is superb though, and I don't mind the rap parts per se.

Not great, not terrible. Too much contrasts between poppy/rap/edm/metalcore, inconsistent. Not enjoyable for me
