Junpei defending Shinji during the funeral is probably the greatest case of "the bro character saying what the player is thinking" in any JRPG. Up until then, my opinion on Junpei was pretty mixed since I wasn't a big fan of how jealous he became at the midpoint of the game and the whole beef arc with the protagonist, but this scene really gave me a lot more respect for him. I probably still like Yosuke and Ryuji more but it was still a nice foretaste of his redemption arc.
Shinjiro definitely is tge epitome of how death can define a cast. Akihiko stopped trying to carrying everything, Junpei stopped trying to be a glory seeker, Yukari became more open minded abd trusting, and More importantly Ken learned to value life and stopped running from grief. When a death impacts the cast in a positive way, you know that it's a good one.
My favorite persona character of all time!!! I have loved him since the first time I played fes. Also fun fact, his name roughly translates to "genuine path" which is a reference to his role as the hierophant as well as him forging the path for the protagonist and the others. The character for "genuine" also appears in Akihiko's name.
Even in the end shinji was big brother figure to the end when takaya ask where your navigator and says their nobody always thinking of other before your self that is shinji character
(SPOILERS FOR THE ENDING AND 10/04) Honestly, I actually like Shinji being saved in Portable. The reason being: Shinji wakes up from the coma, and is there on the rooftop when Kotone dies. And at that point in the story, even if you haven’t romanced him, I see Kotone as his “reason to live” due to his dialogue when you DO romance him, saying “This wasn’t supposed to happen”. Kotone gave him a reason to live…And so, he FINALLY wakes up, sees his girlfriend/Someone he loves, she literally DIES the next day, and logically, his only solace at that point would be knowing that he’d die soon too due to the supressants. That is a f*cking HEARTBREAKING thought, and if The Answer was in Portable, they should have made it so that Shinji would take Yukari’s place if you saved him, and he would have learned to live on without Kotone. I think that would have been beautiful, and it sucks that Reload didn’t include Kotone, both for Kotone herself and the potential for a beautiful arc with Shinji 😭😭
it's baffling to me that shinji was hated/disliked for years he's such a good charater and i think reload 100% gave us shinji at his best with linked episodes and dorm activities it just sucks that people blame so much of his death on ken even though he said he was going to die anyway. I'd love to see a vid where you go over your top sees charters and why because i love your style of analysis it's not too pretentious and pulling ideas out of thin air but also not just a plot summary of the charater great videos :)
Finished with the 3rd game, I hope to see other characters from you later on. The other female character, Social Links, Velvet Rooms, villains, other characters from 4th, 5th, crossovers, and spinoffs later on.
My favorite male Persona character. I personally love when they make a character to empathize with even if it appears in a short time. This are my favorite examples of this type of characters: Shinjiro - Persona 3 Sumire and Haru - Persona 5 Hinata Hyuga - Naruto Shippuden Yuuki Konno - Sword Art Online
The other members of SEES members. As well as childhood friends with Akihiko and Mitsuru, being Shinjiro. His powers are awesome, and also dangerous taking the pills for it. And what made Ken so mad at him at first....Question - did he have some type of cancer because of this affect or what?
One thing I will admit I can't help but ponder about Shinji is what his ultimate Persona would've been like. One fanfic, "Ace in the Hole" (a story that has Ken join the Phantom Thieves. Shinji's alive there for reasons), selected Aeneas for that role. Just a question I wanted to posit for the comments.
I really loved your video!! That kind of videos made me remember there's more than some stupid memes in this community. I remember my playthrough of P3R and what impact Shinji's death done to me (I couldn’t sleep after his death). Will you do an analysis of Kotone? I think she is so mischaracterized by the persona community
This also remind me of the reason what i don't like about reload the protagonist Can only use single hand sword so even if you forge Mjolnir the strongest weapon for Shinji after his death it became useless in our inventory it's just "what a pity" moment in my eyes
I guess this is probably a hot take, but Shinji is my favorite of the third-years. I just think he’s cool. He manages to leave a pretty big impact on both me and the story, even though he’s only playable for a month. You can’t even use him in the Arcana Strength and Fortune fight.
I am a adamant defender of the femc route being the better route but shinji living ( and that dateabel ken ) is the only part of it I can't defend. Shinji's death is by far the most important event for the plot of the game. It is truly as he says " this is how it should be ".
You sure, people love him Well the Kotone fanbase but they are mostly full of themselves or think you are forced to romance a character. I was sure he was loves and Ken is hated fir his death and I stressed this A optional relationship that was fixed in the western version, get over it in 2024 and people wonder why Kotone fans are annoying
I liked that Shinji told Takaya to shut the fuck up.

Same bro ❤

the movies did such a great job with shinji's character

Junpei screaming at the punks at the funeral had me on my feet screaming too
Shinji is deadass one of my favourite persona characters of all time
My favorite character in all of Persona. I hope he gets some kind of role in Reload’s version of The Answer.
One day I would like to see the route where Shinji survives as in Persona 3 Portable but in reload including him in The Answer aswell
The drugs would've killed him anyway
Even in the end shinji was big brother figure to the end when takaya ask where your navigator and says their nobody always thinking of other before your self that is shinji character
shinji my goat

Loved Shinji one of my favorite characters
this video really shows how well spoken you are!! you deserve way more views
Thank you that means a lot!

The pills were used to surpress his persona and the long term effects were fatal
@@frankieseward8667 Damn. That really sucks.
Bro amazing video, I've always loved shinji but after playing reload I appreciate him more, goated character honestly
Thank you for the support! Shinji is so good and I’m glad I got to nerd out about him in this video

I could definitely do an analysis of Kotone if people would like to see it. I might make a community poll and gauge how interested people are
This also remind me of the reason what i don't like about reload the protagonist Can only use single hand sword so even if you forge Mjolnir the strongest weapon for Shinji after his death it became useless in our inventory it's just "what a pity" moment in my eyes

I really hope you do a Strega video or atleast Takaya
I’ll certainly consider it!

I personally think he gets too much praise from the fanbase, but I still like his character.
