Rick, I bought my parents 2 porcelain camembert dishes, that fit into matching plates, for Christmas. We love camembert, it's a grown up brie haha. Great recipes rick, Ty

What a lovely idea. I'm thinking diced ham or bacon in place of pecans as an alternative - good way to use up Xmas hams. I tend to avoid making things with nuts in now as so many are allergic to them. It makes you wonder how we evolved as a species, as nuts would surely have been a core food throughout our history? BTW - for Aussie viewers you can get this brand of cheese in Coles and it's very good and not expensive.
I've eaten baked camembert before with honey and walnuts, but knowing the tastes I think I prefer maple syrup and pecans. Especially with that pinch of sea salt 😃👍🏻♥️
Missed a couple of videos, just catching up, love cheese, all sorts as long as it’s tasty, forget Edam. I liked the person’s idea of bacon as well as pecans, and maple syrup, just a bit more decadent.😊
Oh my Rik, this is beautiful, it looks so delicious. I think I’m going to have to get some of these and have them for Christmas, this looks so easy and too nicer not to have. I can just about taste it. Thanks for the inspiration and the video. I love you and your videos. Ive got such beautiful good ideas from you so THANKYOU.
Hi Chef!!! I adore brie, and have not tasted camembert before. So since I trust your taste buds would you please describe what camembert tastes like??? Your fan for life!!! 🇺🇲❤🏴
Camembert and Brie are both soft-ripened, bloomy-rind cheeses made from cow's milk, and they share many similarities in texture and flavor. However, there are notable differences between the two: Flavour Profile Comparison - Camembert: - Camembert has a more pronounced earthy and mushroom-like flavour, especially as it ripens. It can have nutty and tangy undertones, and its stronger aroma adds to its bold character. - It tends to be slightly saltier and more robust than Brie, with a deeper umami presence. - Brie: - Brie is milder and creamier in flavor, with buttery, slightly fruity, and sometimes even sweet notes. It has a subtler aroma compared to Camembert and a smoother, more delicate taste. - Brie’s flavour is more approachable for those new to soft cheeses Texture Comparison - Camembert: - The interior is dense and creamy but less runny than Brie. It often has a slightly chalky center when less ripened, which softens over time. - Brie: - The interior of Brie is softer and more luscious, often with a gooey or runny consistency as it ripens. It feels silkier on the palate. Rind Comparison - Both cheeses have an edible bloomy rind, but: - Camembert’s rind is thinner and can taste slightly more bitter or tangy. - Brie’s rind is thicker and milder in flavour. Overall Comparison - Camembert is more rustic, bold, and earthy, making it a good choice for those who enjoy stronger, more complex cheeses. - Brie is smoother, milder, and creamier, appealing to a broader range of palates and often preferred in sweet and savory pairings. Both are versatile and delicious, but their differences make each suited to different occasions or moods! Thank You. Best, Rik
@BackyardChef Thank you so much for the information!!! We’ve been on a binge with this the last month or so, only we made it with honey & walnut. This looks great with the maple & pecan too! I was trying to remember which cheese, so I texted my daughter using Siri if it was bree or camembert. Only siri wrote “cameron bird” it must not speak Australian, so thats the new joke. Shall we bake a cameron bird?
