Excellent presentation! Now to locate a decent dragoon.

I got confused on one issue: If Dragoons did not have a recoil lug, why do you point at the recoil lug on that rifle and call it a "Dragoon". Also, when in Mosin history did the brass color forend bands come in and go away? One of my Tulas has brass ones and it looks really cool. It is dated around 1934.

I own a 1927 Izhevsk produced M1891 Dragoon Conversion. It's been converted sometime in it's life to PU standard. I've also noticed that it has a special marking of SA inside of a square which means that it was captured by the Finnish Army which means it's also a war relic.

I like to see the area without snow. You guys must enjoy the spring. Summer is not here yet

I wonder how many of those lost bayonets were simply tossed into the weeds when they became a pain in the butt by snagging on everything. A little practical field testing would indicate the proper hold under for combat conditions. Then, " Oops, sorry Sarge, must have come off on that last attack."

It's a little-known fact that Soviet army policy called for the M1891and M1891/30's socket bayonets to be installed in reverse to lie alongside the handguard in certain situations. Such as infantry riding in trucks or other vehicles, etc...

Do you have an example of the original hand guard? Are there any pictures at all? I am thinking of replicating that.

Sir, your rifle is actual dragoon, because before 1930 only dragoon-pattern rifles had been produced

Did Remington make both types of bayonets?

I wonder if modern mechanized infantry count as dragoons
