One tip is not to have too many things with sharp contrasts in the background. This is a recurring "problem" for many reactors. Cool stuff, but focus can cause problems. But of course it was still good to watch.
I forgot how truly epic this season finale was on my first watch. The first time I watched it I didn't quite catch that Danny was immune to fire beforehand. I jumped out of my chair when she emerged from the fire with 3 dragons.
Pycelle pretends to be decrepit so that everyone around him underestimates his capabilities. In that way, his actions and manipulations never fully come under scrutiny and he is never perceived to be a threat by the powers that be. King's Landing being the nest of vipers that it is, it's essentially a survival mechanism.
Maester Pycell is played by one of the best villainous actors...Julian Glover. He was the evil Nazi conspirator, Walter Donovan in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (movie #3), General Veers in Empire Strikes Back, and Aristotle Kristos in the James Bond film For Your Eyes Only. The way he deceives the whole of King's Landing by having Pycell fake his posture is genius and generally keeps him "safe" from harm, no one would suspect it! Makes you wonder what acts he requires of the prostitutes - obviously not the man on top. Glad you caught that moment. 😉
I love the little catches on rewatch. Gendry thinks he was sent to the wall because his master got sick of him. No, two hands of the king came to see him at the shop and died shortly later and Ned sent out the letter that Joffery was a bastard. The Blacksmith knew trouble was coming and was just covering his own ass.
The guy speaking against Daenarys was sticking to his tribe's customs. I don't think that makes him evil or whatever. Misogyny is not a thing in the medieval ages. Him defending against the witch might have saved Khal drogo but Dany's insistence on using blood magic and witchcraft which was against their traditions to "save" him is what got him killed.
Granted, Catelyn made some bad moves, but she did not “start this whole thing” which you have said several times now. One could say who killed the Hand and put this whole thing in motion? Who pushed Bran out the window? And lastly, who tried to murder Bran? Life was calm and going fairly well until Jon Arryn met his untimely death. Who caused that?

The end sequences in the first few episodes of Season 1 may be shocking, but the LAST 2 episodes of Season 1 are the perfect one-two punch to titillate the mind and create hype for the very definition of must-watch tv.
I'm glad you're sticking with the series. As much as season 1 is good, against the rest of the seasons it's mostly setting and background. Now that the war has started for real, we'll get to meet a lof of new characters.
Just checked. For Komodo dragons it’s takes 8-9 years for full adulthood. So Daenerys’s dragons will grow quickly, but it will take time to be powerful.
Had me at "I hope Joffrey gets eaten by a dragon." I envy you being able to watch this fresh.. and you don't have to wait a year to see what happens next! Have fun with it. Expect some highs and lows with emotion.
The Tyrion/Tywin scene has a much different interpretation on the show (probably due to not having internal thoughts); On the show Tyrion seems to take this positively, like it's some fatherly love... In the books Tyrion considered flinging his cup of wine at Tywin, because he realized that the only reason why he suddenly cared about him as a son, is because he thought Jaime was pretty much a dead man, so he had given up and Tyrion was all he had left...
Poor doggy, it's a struggle to get comfortable these days.🛌 Doggy: " Madam, what are you doing? I was using that to block the annoying light out of my eyes. Now I'm gonna use you! Don't move!"...few moments later..."Are you trying to torture me or it all just comes natural to you?🥺"...terrible sound coming from that torture device later... I really do hope that you start watching the "history and lore" of game of thrones Season 1. It explains so much lore and backstories of these characters. It will explains so much and make it easier to understand everything. Please watch it 😊

Funny how no one remembers who Yoren is, even though he has already been in multiple scenes, some of them fairly long. He had a long scene with Tyrion and Uncle Benjen in Castle Black and another where he tells Ned Stark that Catelyn took Tyrion, where he actually meets Arya face to face...and yet everyone is like..who is that guy ? lmao.

You better stop watching now if you can’t deal with tragedy and depression. This show is brutal. So you either gotta get a grip and hold on for what promises to be a wild ride or stop now. I wish I had a dollar for everyone who has said if they kill a certain person they will stop watching, and then when that person dies, they keep watching until the end. This is an epic story. It is the Song of Ice and Fire referenced by House of the Dragon. It’s not pretty, but it most definitely worth watching IMO.
