Listen to people in the audience talking, having running conversations and NOT enjoying and focused on the performance - humans cannot shut up for two seconds - its like they are afraid to be quiet -- whenever i watch concert videos on youtube posted by fans who were at the show i always hear all that chatter going on - i think it is very sick and neurotic - and see them in the street or anywhere and they are constantly talking or texting or staring at their cell phones - when i go to a concert - and i have seen Elton many times - i shut up and i focus on him, the band, his voice, the playing, the lighting, the staging - i immerse myself in the performance in the show -- RIP humanity
My Dad once got me a ticket by myself up front to a concert, while him and his wife/friends sat 20 rows back…just knowing that I’m at my most content simply getting lost in the experience and taking in the brilliance of the moment. On side note- As a psychologist I’ve learned the power it can bring to a person to just reassure them that they can take all the time they need to think and over time silence no longer becomes awkward. It becomes the norm. I also reiterate they have the option to say ‘I need a day or two to think on that’. Which can be a revelation of sorts ha… it’s wild how much we feel the need to talk.

@@jeffrey.a.hanson Silence is my favorite language.
It’s a shame his voice box and vocals can’t do what he used to be able to do.
It’s like karaoke these days. But still love the bloke!!
I'm not gonna lie, Elton looks really good.
Wow Paul Mcartney, Elton John, and now Billy Joel. Time to retire. Been listening for so long..........makes me feel old.
