@@hayleydee9146 We don't need a win. What we need is to make the effort, send an entry and entrant that we can be proud of, put on a memorable show, and, eventually, in another few decades when Terry Wogan's nonsense of saying second place is losing and his conspiracy theory of buddy voting is finally forgotten, realise that Eurovision is not about winning or losing but about taking part in something bigger than a victory, with an act and song that you believe in and want to share with Europe and the world.
I think Olly knows that and can be that, and so I was really happy when he was announced on Strictly to be our Eurovision act for 2024.

@@hakonsoreide Neighbour voting is not really a conspiracy. It's always been a thing, because people who are culturally similar to you probably will create music that's more relatable/familiar. That being said, its effect is usually not strong enough to determine the winner or drastically affect a nation's placing.

I grew up watching a VHS of his 1974 show in Phildelphia where he wore bright gold sparkly costumes and glasses playing the piano upsidown, but since the late 80s he's really not done that. He can't sing anymore when you get to a certain age singer's vocals are not what they were in their youth just take look back at his performances from way back and look at his award performance in 2021 the difference is quite obvious, some singer's give up performing because they realise that the voice isn't there anymore and others carry on thinking they still have it (although they categorically do not still have it)and it becomes excruciatingly painful to watch and so so embarrassing.

    • @dosenwurst101

@@amarillagriffin7427 Of course Eltons voice is completly different now. Ageing, years of drug abuse and the vocal surgery have taken it's toll. But he always improved the way he sings. Most old musicians trying to sing there hits in the same range as 40 years ago and they sounding terrible. Elton knows about his current vocal range and adapts his songs to the lower key. That's what makes him still 'listenable' in my opinion. And I like his deep Barritone, fits very well to his ballads.

I can tell Elton is having a great time performing with Olly . That was fantastic. He loves his fans but how many times can you play the same set of songs over and over? I’m sure he loves the new experience. I did too

I lived through the AIDS epidemic and had forgotten how bad it was. Olly absolutely brought it all back in Its a Sin, an amazing actor, and now I’ve just found out an amazing performer. Elton you smashed it as usual! But together, last night, with an awesome song, yes I love the Pet Shop Boys, you two men, absolutely %1000 stole that show!!!
Keep playing it back to watch it again and again.
